Unexpected Marriage With Mr. Leighton: Rebirth of the Villain -
Chapter 146: INTERUPTED MOMENT
Chapter 146: INTERUPTED MOMENT
"So, what do you want for your reward?" Ranon asked Hazel, gazing deeply at her while she sat on his lap.
"I want you to come with me to the shareholders’ meeting of my family’s company. It’s in two weeks," Hazel replied.
This was the same proposal she had made to Lucian when she asked him to accompany her for her first meeting with the shareholders.
Hazel had contemplated this decision thoroughly. While she was the best assassin in her family, her understanding of business protocols was limited since she only knew a surface level of it. That was why having Lucian by her side was a tremendous help, but to have Ranon join her felt even more advantageous.
"Do you really want me to come?" Ranon asked, a hint of surprise in his voice.
"Yes!" Hazel exclaimed, a radiant smile lighting up her face.
"Let me know the date," Ranon agreed readily; he reminded himself to clear his schedule on that day.
Hazel’s heart swelled with happiness. In a moment of impulsiveness, she kissed Ranon softly on the lips. The kiss stirred something in him.
Deftly, he scooped Hazel’s body and then walked away towards the bedroom.
"I thought you wanted to give me a reward, not to tire me out," she teased playfully, wrapping her legs around his waist and resting her hands on his shoulders. "You said I looked tired. What are you trying to do? Wear me out even more?"
"I didn’t mean to tire you out," Ranon replied, his tone serious. "I just wanted to show you how much I ’care’."
Hazel understood what he implied and shamelessly didn’t mind at all. "Really? Let’s see how much you truly ’care.’"
With that, she kissed him again, and he continued to carry her towards the bedroom without breaking their kiss.
Once they were inside, Ranon gently laid her down on the sofa. Hazel couldn’t help but think that Ranon seemed to favor unconventional spots for their intimacy, as it was rare for him to choose the bed.
Well, she had no complaints though...
As her back hit the soft, Ranon suddenly pulled away, leaving Hazel a bit confused. \n(o)v.e\l.com
"Where are you going?" Hazel asked, confusion evident on her face. Ranon had walked away after placing her gently on the sofa. What was the meaning of this? He had ignited her excitement only to leave her hanging, utterly unacceptable.
Before she could voice her concern, Ranon returned with a mischievous smile that told Hazel he had something up his sleeve.
Ranon could be remarkably creative when it came to keeping his wife entertained, but her attention quickly turned to his hand, which he was hiding behind his back.
"What is it?" she asked, alert and curious.
In a swift motion, Ranon was already by her side, leaning over her, his body hovering just above hers, and Hazel’s protests were swallowed by a heated, passionate kiss that distracted her, making her forget everything, including what was concealed in Ranon’s hand.
Suddenly, Ranon lifted both of Hazel’s hands above her head and restrained them with just one hand.
Soon after, the sensation of cold metal against her wrists startled her. "What?" Hazel gasped, trying to break the kiss and wriggle away, only to realize the shocking truth: the restraints were handcuffs, the very ones Laurel had gifted them the other day for their wedding.
"What the fuck, Ranon!" Hazel blinked in disbelief. The fluffy thing on the cuffs looked utterly ridiculous. "What is this?" she asked, flabbergasted.
Ranon tilted his head, amusement glinting in his eyes. "It’s a gift. It would be a waste not to use it. Don’t you think so?" He replied innocently, though nothing about him felt innocent at that moment.
"No way," Hazel said, trying to wiggle her hands free from the cuffs. But her resolve crumbled as Ranon pressed his body against hers and began caressing her thighs. The heat of his desire was undeniable, and every attempt she made to escape slipped away from her mind.
Hazel had been handcuffed before, but obviously, it was for entirely different reasons. Arlo was very simple and was not very imaginative.
Yet somehow, Ranon made these cuffs feel thrilling, awakening a side of her she didn’t know existed. It was both exciting and annoying, but to be fair, it was exhilarating, especially knowing what she would get soon.
Usually, she disliked the handcuffs, but at that moment, it didn’t matter. All she wanted was to revel in this intimacy and see how Ranon would explore her body, how he would please her.
Even as embarrassment tinged her thoughts, she couldn’t deny the pleasure she felt with Ranon.
As Hazel tried to move her body in response, Ranon leaned in, his voice dark and enticing. Each touch sent shivers down her spine, and she took a deep breath, overwhelmed by the sensations.
Just as the atmosphere grew thick with tension, a persistent knock on the door shattered their privacy. At first, they chose to ignore it, but the knocking only grew more insistent, interrupting the magical moment.
"Mrs. Leighton, Mr. Leighton, there is someone in the lobby who wants to see you both," Renna called for them.
"Who is it?" Ranon asked, panting against Hazel’s chest. She felt the heat radiating between them as they tried to suppress their urges.
"It’s Carl," Renna replied.
"His name is Carl," Ranon repeated, frustration creeping into his tone.
"The receptionist said he wanted to see you both."
The name was familiar, but the fact that Carl was here felt weird. Hazel didn’t want their moment to end, yet they both knew they couldn’t continue with someone waiting just outside the door.
"We will be right there in a moment," Ranon called out, the annoyance on his face making Hazel smile.
"You really need to see your face," Hazel laughed, her amusement mixing with the frustration of having their intimate moment interrupted. While she was disappointed that things hadn’t gone as planned, there was something undeniably entertaining about Ranon’s annoyed expression.
Ranon didn’t respond; instead, he leaned in and pressed a quick kiss to her lips before he stood up.
One thing remained clear: Hazel’s hands were still handcuffed, and Ranon had no intention of unlocking them yet. This was her ’punishment’ for laughing at him.
However, Hazel showed him that the cuffs didn’t bother her. She grabbed a fork from the table, the one she had used for the fruit, and skillfully maneuvered it to unlock the handcuffs.
Across the room, Ranon silently watched, noting how effortlessly she accomplished it, as though she had done it many times before. It struck him as strange; who had taught her this trick? Not to mention she could use a gun very well; her aim was top-notch too.
But rather than ask, he kept his thoughts to himself, since Hazel wouldn’t answer the question anyway.
Once they both looked slightly more presentable, they made their way to the lobby. "You don’t need to come," Ranon said, trying to discourage her.
"No, I want to come," Hazel replied resolutely. She had no intention of being left behind.
She wanted to see Carl again. The last time she had seen him was on her wedding day, and he had appeared deeply troubled, as if burdened by unspoken worries. Now, she understood why.
In a way, Carl reminded her of Michael, Arlo’s younger brother. They used to be very close, and Hazel simply missed his presence and their playful banter.
When they reached the lobby, they found Carl sitting on a sofa. He looked unwell, pale, and distraught, as if he were running away from something. The moment Carl spotted them, he immediately stood and swayed towards them, his steps unsteady.
"I want to know where my mother is," Carl said, his voice barely above a whisper. He looked pale with chapped lips and was visibly trembling. He was skinnier than the last time Hazel had seen him, which filled her with concern.
"You need to ask her yourself," Ranon replied, his tone icy. The way he regarded Carl was as if he were a source of irritation.
Hazel was accustomed to Ranon’s warm and attentive nature, the way he often spoiled her and laughed easily, to the point she was taken aback by this cold side of him.
"I don’t know where my mother is," Carl said, tears brimming in his eyes. "I tried to call her, but she didn’t answer or reply to my texts."
"Then you have your answer," Ranon stated bluntly.
Though they were not blood relatives, Carl was still Laurel’s stepson, and Hazel felt a surge of compassion for him.
"Are you okay?" Hazel asked gently, sensing the weight of despair pressing down on him. Carl had come here as his last resort; everyone knew where Hazel and Ranon lived due to the intense media scrutiny surrounding them.
"I am fine, but I want my mother." Carl was about to cry, and Hazel’s heart ached for him, even though she understood how deeply Laurel had been hurt by Carl’s past actions.
"We can’t disclose her location because she doesn’t want to be disturbed," Hazel explained softly, hoping that Carl would understand her reasoning.
Ranon, however, adopted a more practical stance. "You can stay here and wait for your father to come. I will call him since you didn’t tell him you are here," he said matter-of-factly.
Carl’s expression shifted to panic. "No, no, no! Don’t call my father, please! I don’t want him here!" His desperation was palpable, and as he attempted to stop Ranon, his body swayed uncontrollably, and suddenly, he lost consciousness.
