Chapter 665: Chapter 639: Go In or Come Out

Gao Yi didn’t know what he should be doing right now.

Logically speaking, he shouldn’t be at the forefront with his identity, status, and wealth.

Even the best Kung Fu master fears knives, let alone bullets. Any stray bullet could take his life.

Yet, besides leading at the front with a hammer, Gao Yi genuinely didn’t know what else he could do.

Since there’s no hiding at the back to spectate, he might as well charge forward and wreak havoc.

Dani ran out of bullets, he didn’t switch magazines, but picked up a rifle with his left hand as the last bullet was about to be fired. As soon as the magazine was empty, the rifle in his left hand began shooting.

The firepower didn’t cease, but switching guns gave the enemies outside a chance to exploit.

Now it’s impossible to suppress them, the enemies are willing to take bullets as they rush forward.

In just a brief moment, at least four people barged into the hall simultaneously, firing at any target they could see as soon as they entered.

The switch from suppression to counter-suppression happened in an instant.

At this moment, Gao Yi threw his hammer.

Gao Yi excelled at using hammers, but he’s not limited to just that, when realizing something was wrong or when guns were evidently more appropriate, he’d certainly switch to using a gun.

Gao Yi fired at the enemies coming from the side, holding down the trigger and unleashing all the bullets.

Gao Yi suppressed the enemy’s advance from the side at extremely close range, but the enemies were already motivated, as soon as some managed to enter this hall, more would attempt to rush in.

The mercenaries’ offensive wasn’t interrupted, while the bullets in the rifle magazine Gao Yi picked up were depleted in just a few seconds.

Luckily, Gao Yi created an opportunity for Dani to adjust his shooting. As Gao Yi had to fiercely throw out the emptied rifle, Dani took up a rifle with his right hand, discarded the gun in his left hand, shouldered the rifle, and blocked the door with even more precise shots.

In just a breath, within a few seconds, the enemies outside lost the chance to attack amidst the chaos.

"Don’t stop! Charge in!"

McCarthy was still shouting.

Having staked everything, McCarthy had no path of retreat left. Regardless, he couldn’t stay in the United States, but there was a difference between leaving with several billion US Dollars and leaving as a pauper.

At this moment, Joelson shouted at McCarthy, who had all his attention focused forward: "McCarthy, you’re finished!"

McCarthy didn’t even want to glance back at Joelson but immediately heard an unsettling noise.

It was the sharp sound of tires during a sudden brake. McCarthy turned to look, only to see two cars riddled with bullet holes stopping behind them.

McCarthy’s eyes widened instantly.

Too much time had been wasted, five minutes passed without breaking in, but no CIA reinforcements arrived, yet Ben delayed another three minutes upon his arrival, and they still couldn’t break in.

And now, the CIA reinforcements had finally arrived.

Without any hesitation, McCarthy started moving, after taking two steps, he suddenly realized that this was not the time to consider etiquette and image.

McCarthy began to run, while Joelson approached the newly arrived cars.

McCarthy broke into a sprint but had just left the cover of the vehicles when a short burst was fired from the Compaq Building above.

McCarthy fell headlong to the ground upon being shot.

The doors of the arriving cars opened, but only the person from the front car got out, blood all over, unsteadily walking after pushing the door open.

"We encountered an ambush on the way, everyone else is dead, only the three of us are left..."

Blood was gushing from his shoulder, and also out of his leg, but after hastily uttering two sentences, he realized no one responded to him, which made him turn to look back, only to find the driver who brought him here had just opened the car door, his arm dropped, and his head tilted to one side.

Luckily, the back door opened, the driver held an M4 rifle in one hand, staggered to the ground just after getting out, but luckily struggled and got back up.

"Only the two of us left."

Joelson stood there stupefied, the two Special Service Bureau agents exchanged a glance, then involuntarily stepped back two paces.

The Special Service Bureau agents had been engaged in some internal strife, but now they seemed to have a mutual understanding of leaving together.

No wonder CIA’s reinforcements were delayed; it turns out after tearing each other’s faces, they didn’t leave any room behind, this was not mere interference, it was direct confrontation with guns blazing.

It was no longer an internal strife; this was an internal war.

Joelson hesitated for a moment, froze for a few moments, then angrily exclaimed: "Falke! There’s really no way now."

Joelson was a opportunist but certainly no coward.

Back in Libya, Joelson risked his life to find himself a powerful ally, now even though his future looks promising, it doesn’t mean he’s lost the courage to fight desperately.

Since they’ve torn each other apart, dark conflicts have turned into a bloody civil war, why hold back anymore, even if there’s an open identity layer of Pentagon’s assistant here, so what?

Joelson just didn’t bring a gun.

"Give me your gun!"

Seeing only two of CIA’s black army remained, and these two were injured badly, making them useless, Joelson straightforwardly rushed over and snatched a rifle, turning around and raising the rifle towards McCarthy’s direction.

"Huh?"

As he prepared to go into battle himself by raising his gun, Joelson suddenly found McCarthy lying motionless on the ground, seemingly dead.

The reinforcements arrived, but it was as if they never did.

Yet the arrival of reinforcements turned out to be immensely helpful.

For a moment, Joelson was unsure whether to aim the gun from behind the enemies or to quickly drop it, lest someone fire a barrage at him.

At this moment, Joelson noticed people gathered at the Compaq Building entrance suddenly began dispersing, one even abandoned their gun, running like mad to the side.

Joelson abruptly realized and shouted: "McCarthy is dead! You won’t get the bounty, CIA, attack, eliminate them!"

Joelson truly started shooting, he fired a round towards the mercenaries’ rear but didn’t rush forward; instead, he immediately hid behind a nearby car.

"He’s coming out, retreat quickly!"

"McCarthy’s dead, no more bounty for us..."

"Forget the bounty, run!"

Mercenaries fled first because they couldn’t get paid by fighting further, plus the mercenaries had already lost quite a few, with at least a third of their numbers gone.

Joelson felt his strategy was effective, but soon realized the mercenaries’ retreat wasn’t due to McCarthy’s death or the severed retreat path.

It was because Gao Yi had rushed out wielding a knife.
