Chapter 635: Chapter 609: What’s Wrong
The hope of finding Little Andic is slim, because too much time has passed—enough to complete a complex surgery and still give him ample time to escape.
Now it’s certain that the FBI is secretly letting things slip; someone even Buck can easily find, the FBI surely couldn’t miss.
The problem is, the FBI has its own private business on the Dark Web. The Red and Blue Group is the FBI’s black industry, strictly speaking, the business they do is no less significant than the Andic Group, so in terms of status on the Dark Web, it’s hard to tell who is higher.
Assassin-related business is unstable, but the business of smuggling into the United States is a stable and massive industrial chain. The FBI’s business of providing fake identities is low-priced, but the volume and stability make the earnings far exceed those of the Andic Group.
Gao Yi was contemplating whether the FBI was worried that once the Andic Group was completely finished, they’d be next?
This Dark Web involves no small number of people and forces. The Dark Web supports the value of virtual currency, moving against it would harm many interests. Luckily, Gao Yi is only targeting the Andic Group, not flipping the table of the Dark Web, so short-term turbulence is acceptable.
As for the Red and Blue Group’s business, even with short-term impacts, it wouldn’t be enough to cause crippling damage. At a time when Andic has become a global enemy, it’s puzzling that the FBI didn’t strike against the Andic Group but instead let Little Andic slip away.
Can’t figure it out, just can’t figure it out.
"This is the place, but who knows if the person is still here."
Buck pointed at a clinic that looked quite ordinary, but in the United States, any clinic that’s operating isn’t simple. It doesn’t matter how many doctors or nurses are inside—just getting the license and opening the clinic is no small feat.
The car didn’t stop; it just drove past the clinic, and Gao Yi casually glanced at it, then said nonchalantly, "How should we go about it? Should we charge in and kill everyone, or should we have a chat with the doctor first?"
Buck was somewhat surprised and replied, "Are you asking me?"
"Yes, do you think the FBI would set an ambush nearby, just waiting for me to appear so they can take me out."
Buck paused again.
Gao Yi turned his head back, looking ahead, he said, "I don’t know what the FBI plans to do, but not eliminating Little Andic immediately is definitely wrong. If something looks abnormal, it’s inherently abnormal. You’re also part of the FBI. What do you think the FBI intends to do?"
This question stumped Buck. He pondered for a moment and carefully replied, "Maybe it’s about the struggle for control over the Dark Web?"
"Hmm, what does the struggle for control over the Dark Web have to do with letting Little Andic go?"
Buck paused once more, seemingly puzzled as to why someone of Gao Yi’s stature would ask such naive questions.
"Uh, the members of the Andic Family, of course, hold many secrets of the Andic Group. If you can get hold of Little Andic, you can certainly inquire about many things."
Buck said vaguely, spreading his hands, "I don’t know what secrets Little Andic possesses, so I don’t know what he’s worth, but he certainly has value."
"Makes sense."
Gao Yi nodded, then thought for a moment and said, "Then let’s take action directly. I think whatever the FBI’s intention, they won’t make it too blatant or excessive, so this shouldn’t be a trap."
Buck quickly said, "There are absolutely no issues with my side!"
Gao Yi made a quick decision; he said without hesitation, "Sith and Dani, secure the back door, don’t let anyone escape. I’ll go in and talk to that assassin doctor first. Buck, you can wait for us in the car."
Buck couldn’t conveniently show face, so it’s natural he wouldn’t go along with Gao Yi.
Gao Yi habitually brings Lucy and Yuri along. Lucy is there to safeguard against anyone directly using guns, and Yuri is brought along purely because if left alone, he might cause trouble.
It’s out of fear and caution regarding Yuri that he’s not allowed out of sight.
The car stopped, Gao Yi and Lucy got out, and then Yuri leisurely stepped down, the three people, without any extra actions, headed directly into the clinic.
Little Andic leaving behind any clue is unlikely, but as long as they can find out Little Andic’s whereabouts, their goals would be achieved.
The clinic had automatic glass doors; as Gao Yi approached, the doors opened automatically. Inside the waiting room was a nurse in her fifties, expressionless when she saw Gao Yi enter, and said, "May I help you?"
This place is Long Island Long Beach, a congregation of New York’s wealthy. To open such a small clinic in this affluent area, with a nurse having an unfriendly attitude, either the doctor has exceptionally high skills, or he simply doesn’t rely on this clinic to make money.
"Is the doctor in?"
Gao Yi didn’t speak. Instead, Yuri asked seriously, while pressing his chest, "My heart doesn’t feel well."
"Do you have an appointment?"
The nurse asked again, causing Yuri’s brows to furrow immediately.
This demeanor is off for a clinic that’s been posing for years; its business level shouldn’t be this low.
Gao Yi also sensed something was amiss. Yuri promptly expressed dissatisfaction, "No appointment, but I need to see the doctor immediately. I came here not wanting to waste time. If I had to fill out a form or make an appointment, I wouldn’t be here!"
"Don’t be agitated. I’m just asking if you have an appointment, there’s no need to get worked up."
The nurse, after speaking, picked up the phone on the counter, then said, somewhat impatiently, "Doctor, a gentleman here says his heart isn’t feeling well, no appointment."
After hanging up the phone, the nurse told Yuri, "First room to the right."
Yuri walked over slowly, and although Gao Yi felt extremely uneasy, he couldn’t decide what to do. Seeing Yuri indeed heading over, he followed.
Yuri reached a door and hesitated before pushing it open, but he then faintly shook his head and nonetheless extended his hand to open the closed doctor’s office door.
If there were a few burly men hiding inside the room, Gao Yi would understand.
Even if the doctor’s office contains only a corpse, Gao Yi wouldn’t be too surprised. But as Yuri opened the door, inside lay just a seated doctor, which truly was unusual.
"You should have knocked, then I’d say come in."
After mocking Gao Yi and the others, the doctor gestured, "Come in."
Yuri entered, followed closely by Gao Yi. Initially, the doctor was fairly normal, but upon seeing Lucy, he suddenly froze, then murmured softly, "Uh, hmm, seems I’m in trouble. Are you three here to kill me?"
