Chapter 174: Chapter 163: One for One

Gao Yi subdued Shaman, but Shaman refused to submit; he was tough and furious.

There were six bodyguards in the room. Gao Yi had killed three, leaving three remaining. All of Shaman’s bodyguards were armed, so the situation wasn’t clearly advantageous for either side.

However, if Gao Yi completely disregarded life and death, then the advantage could only be his.

Muhan’s bodyguard behind him drew his pistol. Smartly, he did not aim the gun at Gao Yi; instead, he grasped Mu Tianwen, pressing the pistol to the back of Mu Tianwen’s head.

"Come out!"

Two individuals wielding submachine guns operated their weapons and aimed at Gao Yi. In that instant, Gao Yi had overlapped with Shaman, preventing them from firing immediately, and by the time they could slowly aim at Gao Yi, he had already hidden behind Shaman.

Mu Tianwen, watching from the side, was flabbergasted but began to feel a surge of excitement after a moment of stupefaction.

"Put down the guns! Drop them! Do you want His Highness to die with us? All three of you, put down your guns!"

Mu Tianwen’s voice was shrill and urgent.

At this moment, it was necessary to bring in another person capable of taking charge. Since Shaman, who was being controlled, could no longer give orders, someone concerned with Shaman’s safety and with the authority to command had to step in.

Gao Yi’s right arm was around Shaman’s neck while his left hand searched a bodyguard he had just killed, drawing the pistol from the bodyguard’s side. With the pistol in his left hand, he then pointed it at the back of Shaman’s head.

"Open the door and let Abdulla in. Nobody else is allowed in!"

Gao Yi shouted at Mu Tianwen. Unconcerned with the gun at the back of his head, Mu Tianwen harshly replied, "Do you dare to shoot? You wouldn’t dare! Let go of me."

Forcefully prying off the hand that was choking him, Mu Tianwen stormed over to open the office door.

Outside, some voices could faintly be heard, Abdulla hesitated to push the door open, but now, he no longer needed to hesitate.

Mu Tianwen stood at the doorway, his voice trembling, "You, come in! Just you!"

Shaman’s eyes were rolling back from being strangled, but he was too stubborn. Gao Yi couldn’t let him speak, so he had no choice but to increase the pressure with his arm.

Abdulla entered the room, and upon seeing Shaman strangled with a gun to his head, his legs felt weak and he had trouble walking steadily.

"Let go... of his highness..."

Abdulla stammered a meaningless sentence, while Feng Biao forced his way into the room from behind Abdulla and rushed directly towards Gao Yi without hesitation.

The two men holding the submachine guns aimed at Feng Biao, but he seemed to disregard them.

As Feng Biao moved behind Gao Yi, he bent down to pick up a gun from another bodyguard. His headscarf fell off, but he picked it up from the ground, drew the bodyguard’s pistol, and stood behind Gao Yi and Shaman. He bundled up the picked-up headscarf and stuffed it into his waistband, then covered it up with his quick-dry shirt, causing a bulge at his waist.

Feng Biao raised the pistol, pointing it at the ceiling.

He pulled the trigger, and the loud gunshot made everyone jump.

After firing at the ceiling first, Feng Biao slowly aimed the gun at Shaman’s head.

"We have nothing to lose. We came here with no plans to leave alive. So, are you intending to die with us?"

With utter disrespect, Feng Biao nudged Shaman’s head with the gun barrel and snarled, "Most importantly, are you planning to let him die with us? Put down your guns! Drop them!"

The three armed men looked at each other, all turning their gaze to Abdulla. Feeling weak all over, but seeing Shaman’s eyes rolling back from being strangled, Abdulla had to make a decision quickly.

"Put down the guns, drop them..."

The two with submachine guns glanced at each other before they slowly placed their guns on the ground. The gunman who had intended to hold Mu Tianwen hostage appeared indecisive.

Abdulla yelled fiercely, "Do you want to kill His Highness?"

Eventually, all three lowered their weapons.

Gao Yi breathed a little easier, loosening his grip on Shaman’s neck a bit. In a low voice, he said, "His Highness, please order the release of Harold and then come with us. Once we are safe, we will naturally let you go."

"Impossible!"

Now able to speak again, Shaman forcefully tried to pry off Gao Yi’s arm, realizing he couldn’t move it and gritted his teeth, "Do you dare to kill me? You wouldn’t dare, you wouldn’t survive after killing me!"

"Yes," Gao Yi replied quietly, "but taking just one of you is enough. Are you planning to die with us?"

"You wouldn’t dare..." Shaman growled.

Feng Biao raised the pistol and then viciously smashed it onto Shaman’s head.

"Guess if I dare!"

Bang—a sound of the gun butt hitting the head. Blood began to flow from Shaman’s head, staining his checkered headscarf red.

Abdulla screamed in horror; all four of them tried to intervene but ultimately stopped in their tracks.

"Stop, don’t!" Abdulla shouted.

"Just because you say ’stop,’ should we stop?" Feng Biao raised the pistol again.

Abdulla shouted, "Stop, don’t shoot! We agree to all your demands, Your Highness, Your Highness!"

Shaman was confounded from the blow.

From childhood, or rather, from the moment of his birth, Shaman had never known what it felt like to be hit, to be denied, or to have a gun pointed at his head.

Now, one thought crossed Shaman’s mind.

They actually dare to hit me?

Shaman almost didn’t believe that anyone would exchange their life for his, but now, he started to believe.

Shaman said in a deep voice, "Release Harold..."

It was done.

Gao Yi took a breath and whispered, "Order the airport to clear Harold’s private plane for takeoff. As soon as the plane lands, I’ll let you go back."

Shaman barked, "Impossible! I’ll never be coerced by you, I can’t be taken hostage, Abdulla! If they force me away..."

Gao Yi quickly strangled Shaman’s neck to prevent him from completing his sentence.

Abdulla swiftly picked up a submachine gun from the floor and gnashed his teeth at Gao Yi, "Let him go! Otherwise, let’s die together. You think you can kidnap His Highness and leave? Impossible!"

Shaman truly wasn’t afraid to die, and Abdulla indeed had the courage.

Abdulla roared, "Let His Highness speak! Otherwise, none of you will leave!"

The extent of their stubbornness truly exceeded Gao Yi’s expectations.

Gao Yi loosened his arm a bit, and Shaman gasped for air. Then he calmly stated, "If they try to take me away by force, just kill them and me together, then kill Harold’s entire family, everyone, everyone!"

After speaking, Shaman tilted his head slightly. Although he couldn’t see Gao Yi, he still spoke with a fierce tone, "You want to save Harold, I can let him leave, but if you think of taking me hostage, then you’re mistaken, I’d rather die! I will not let you take me away!"

Gao Yi didn’t quite believe Shaman truly wasn’t afraid to die. He forcefully lifted Shaman, who couldn’t breathe and was desperately kicking. There was a real unwillingness in his struggle.

Abdulla, eyes reddened, aimed the gun above Gao Yi’s head and pulled the trigger.

Multiple gunshots rang out, bullets flying over both Shaman’s and Gao Yi’s heads.

"Don’t push me," Abdulla’s voice trembled, "I’d rather kill His Highness than let you take him away!"

Gao Yi fell into contemplation, then whispered, "Go, release Harold, order the airport to allow the plane to take off."

After speaking, Gao Yi turned towards Feng Biao, "You two go directly to the airport, our people meeting Harold will also head there. Once you’re airborne and safe, I’ll release him."

There could be no further delays. Shaman’s stubbornness forced Gao Yi to compromise.

There could only be one ongoing threat to Shaman; this was the only way to make others leave.

Feng Biao looked at Gao Yi in amazement.

Gao Yi spoke very helplessly, "Why are you staring? Go on!"

Mu Tianwen moved forward, wanting to say something but hesitated. Gao Yi took out his phone, placed it on the desk in front of him, and whispered to Feng Biao, "Take this phone. Once you’re safe, call me on another number."

Shaman was just gasping for air. He turned to Abdulla and said, "Go, release Harold, watch them. If you don’t get my call, kill them all at the airport, spare no one. I might die, but nothing will happen to you. But if you let them take me out of this room, I’ll kill your entire family!"

Gao Yi shouted at Feng Biao, "Aren’t you leaving yet?"

"Not leaving!"

Feng Biao aimed the gun at Shaman’s head and whispered, "Boss, staying means death."

"Do I need your reminder?" Gao Yi was furious, as Shaman’s stubbornness forced him to sacrifice himself. But what else could he do if Feng Biao wouldn’t stay?

He still didn’t quite trust Feng Biao. If Feng Biao chickened out, they’d all be done for.

Gao Yi knew he wouldn’t chicken out, so he had to stay himself.

"I’ve never seen a boss stay behind and let his employees go first, haha..."

Seemingly moved by an unknown sentiment, Feng Biao chuckled and then said to Gao Yi, "You go. Take everyone and leave. You trust me, and you’re not wrong."

Gao Yi couldn’t help but glance sideways at Feng Biao.

Feng Biao put his arm around Shaman’s neck and said to Abdulla, "Everyone out. I won’t kill him. No one is allowed to stay in this room. Take all the guns out, let’s make it simple."

Gao Yi was extremely surprised. "You..."

Feng Biao smiled, "Are you trying to waste time here, or do you want to hurry and lead people away? I’m definitely not leaving, so save your breath. We’re not in a movie, don’t get sentimental."

Gao Yi clenched his teeth and said to Mu Tianwen, "Let’s go!"

Abdulla opened the door, shouting fiercely, "No one is allowed in, you, come with me!"

Gao Yi left with Mu Tianwen. The corridor was now crowded with at least a hundred people, completely blocking the long hallway.

Gao Yi suddenly turned back and shouted at Feng Biao, who was still inside the door, "Wait for me; I’ll come to rescue you!"

Then, under the angry stares of a hundred people, Gao Yi walked through the crowd with his head held high, pulling Mu Tianwen along.
