Chapter 158: Good News. (1/2)

"Here, take this number, call it, his name is Ronald, and tell him my name, he will arrange everything for you."

Lukas said, after eating with Yaho, he gave her the number he got just a little while ago.

"What if he can’t do it? Unban me?"

Yaho asked, she wanted to go back, but she was not sure if Lukas and his supposed friend could accomplish that.

Lukas leaned back on the couch and looked at her, calm as ever.

"Don’t worry about it, I wouldn’t give you false hope," he said, grabbing a glass of water and taking a slow sip. "If I say it’ll get done, it’ll get done. Ronald works under someone who has direct access to the Oval Office."

Yaho sat quietly for a second, then looked at the number again.

"Okay... I’ll call him after lunch."

"No need to hurry, just call when you’re ready," Lukas said. "He already knows someone will reach out with my name."

Yaho nodded and put the number in her phone, still a little doubtful but clearly trusting Lukas more than anyone else she had met in years.

"And hey," Lukas added, giving her a casual glance, "don’t be nervous when you talk to him. Just be honest, give your details, and he’ll handle the rest. It might take a few days, but it’ll get sorted."

Yaho gave a small smile, her eyes a little softer. "I hope so. I really want to go back."

Lukas stood up, stretching his arms.

"You will."

"So what’s today’s plan?"

Yaho asked, she was excited to take Lukas to many more places. She liked to visit places with Lukas, and he still had a lot of money left in her account.

"Yeah, about that... the adventure ends here. I need to go back. I’ve rested and enjoyed quite a bit, but my classes are about to start, and also, Christmas is here."

Lukas said while standing up and looking at the snow outside the window of his suite.

Yaho blinked and then turned to glance at the window too. The snow was falling slowly, covering the city like a soft white blanket. She looked back at Lukas, her voice quieter now.

"So you’re leaving soon?"

Lukas nodded.

"Yeah, probably tomorrow or the day after. I’ll need to wrap things up here and catch a flight. I’ve got people waiting back home."

Yahoo didn’t respond right away. She sat back on the sofa, thinking.

"I guess it was fun while it lasted," she said with a faint smile.

"Yeah, I will take a rest today."

Lukas said, leaning back as he looked out the window. The snow continued to fall gently outside, painting the city in white. He was planning to call Henry to see if he could arrange a private flight for him, like the last time. Henry had managed to pull it off with some weirdo before, so Lukas was curious if it could happen again.

"You still have over three million yen left in my account. Should I convert it into dollars and give it to you?"

Yahoo? She asked while tidying up a few of the empty food containers. She had been keeping track of every expense and was clear about the remaining balance.

"Take it. It will be your Christmas bonus."

Lukas said without a hint of hesitation. That amount didn’t concern him anymore. He had more than enough, and Ichigo had already done a fine job depositing the full reward in his US account. His financial situation was more than solid now.

Yaho blinked in surprise for a second, then gave a short nod.

"Alright. Thanks, Boss."

Lukas waved it off like it was nothing, then walked toward the bedroom to lie down for a while. He still had to make that call to Henry, but there was no rush—he had a whole day of rest ahead before heading back to the States.

After lying down, Lukas picked up his phone and dialed Henry. The moment the call connected, Henry’s voice came through almost immediately, as if he had been waiting for this exact moment.

"I was waiting for you to call me," Henry said, his voice warm and unusually cheerful. "I didn’t want to disturb you while you were on vacation, but I’ve been wanting to talk to you for days."

Lukas blinked, slightly surprised by Henry’s excitement. "Oh? What’s the good news about?"

Henry chuckled, clearly unable to contain his enthusiasm. "Remember the three companies you told me to look into? The ones you were so insistent about? Well, I found them. They aren’t public companies yet, and two of them are based in China, so it wasn’t easy. But I got them all. Google, Alibaba, and Tencent."

Lukas, who had been casually lounging on his plush hotel bed, suddenly sat up straighter. A slow, satisfied smile spread across his face. This was big. In the year 2000, these names didn’t mean much to most people, but Lukas knew better. He had knowledge from the future. Google would dominate the tech world. Alibaba would revolutionize e-commerce in Asia. Tencent would become a tech empire with stakes in gaming, finance, and social media.

"Good job, Coach," Lukas said calmly, though inside he felt like laughing. "Send me the details. I want the valuation numbers, founders’ names, share structure, and any pre-IPO investment windows if available."

Henry paused for a moment. "Already prepared a file. I’ll fax it to your hotel if you want a hard copy, or just check your secure inbox. Everything’s there."

Lukas nodded to himself. "Check the contracts, make sure we can buy early equity. Get me a list of who we need to talk to in each company. I want face-to-face meetings arranged. And tell our lawyers to draw up silent investor terms. No one needs to know where the money is coming from."

"Understood," Henry replied. "Anything else?"

"Yes. Get me a flight. Private, of course. Preferably today or tomorrow morning. I want to be back before classes start. You remember that weirdo you used last time for the free flight?"

Henry burst out laughing. "Oh yes, how could I forget him? You want me to call him again?"

"No," Lukas said dryly. "Find someone else. I want comfort this time. No strange stories."

"Got it. Leave it to me."

Lukas ended the call, placing his phone on the side table. He leaned back into the soft pillow behind him, his mind racing but his body relaxed. This single move could make him richer than anyone his age. He had the knowledge, the capital, and now the access. All that remained was execution.

Henry, as promised, handled everything within a couple of hours. Lukas was still lounging in the suite, casually watching some Japanese game show on the hotel TV, when the phone rang again. It was Henry.

"Alright, Luke, listen closely," Henry said, with his usual quick tone. "I’ve faxed over the details of the three companies to your hotel business center—Google, Tencent, and Alibaba. I also arranged your flight back home. Private charter, of course. You’ll be flying out tomorrow morning at 8:30. Your pickup will be at 6:30 sharp from the hotel driveway."
