Chapter 154: Ichigo’s Shock.
Lukas and Yaho left the venue the same way they had arrived earlier. The driver, waiting patiently by the car, opened the door for them, and the two quietly stepped inside. The atmosphere was calm, the thrill of the race behind them now. The city lights of Tokyo passed by outside the window as the car made its way back toward the hotel.
It was already night when they returned. The sky had darkened completely, and the streets were lit with soft neon and passing headlights. Lukas stepped out of the car first, followed by Yaho, and together they entered the grand lobby of the hotel.
When they reached the suite floor, Lukas opened the door to his room and stepped inside. As usual, Yaho paused near the entrance, ready to leave. But this time, Lukas raised his hand and gestured for her to wait.
Without saying a word, he walked deeper into the suite and entered his bed chamber. Once inside, he pulled up the system interface in front of him. With a few simple motions, he initiated the process to cash out the full reward amount. Moments later, the entire 28,000,000 dollars was on to his bed.
The room remained quiet, the sound of the city muffled by the thick hotel walls. Lukas glanced down at the screen with a faint smile, then turned back toward the door, his next move already forming in his mind.
He grabbed 100,000 dollars and went back to the living room where Yaho was still waiting. As soon as she saw the thick stack of cash in Lukas’s hand, she stood up in surprise, her eyes wide.
"This is yours," Lukas said, handing her the full hundred thousand dollars. "Call your manager tomorrow morning and bring a contract with you. I will sign a contract with you. You will be my CEO. Do you accept?"
He looked serious, his tone calm but firm. Lukas was eager to finalize the deal, because he knew that if he signed Yaho as his CEO, the system would reward him with a fixed sixteen million dollars.
"Of course I accept, give me the money," Yaho replied quickly, her voice filled with excitement. She grabbed the thick bundle of cash from Lukas’s hand, stuffed it into her purse, and smiled from ear to ear. Her steps were light and cheerful as she turned to leave, almost dancing with joy as she walked out of the suite.
Lukas watched her go with a faint smirk, then shook his head lightly and turned around. He went inside his bedchamber, quietly closing the door behind him. The room was dimly lit, but the neatly stacked bundles of cash still sat gleaming under the soft light.
He walked over to the closet, opened the doors wide, and began placing the stacks inside one by one. He was careful, lining each bundle in rows, making sure they were stored properly. Even though the system gave him these rewards in cash, he couldn’t just leave them lying around.
Once the closet was full and everything was neatly stored, he closed the doors, changed into gym clothes, and headed to the hotel’s fitness center. He didn’t speak to anyone on the way, just quietly made his way to the private gym reserved for top-level guests.
He worked out for two full hours, using every machine available and pushing his body to its limit. Sweat dripped from his forehead, but he didn’t stop until he had completed his routine. Afterward, he returned to the suite, ordered a full-course dinner, ate quietly, and then took a long shower to wash off the fatigue.
Feeling clean and relaxed, he slipped under the covers and fell asleep peacefully, the day’s events slowly fading from his mind.
The next morning, sunlight peeked through the curtains, but Lukas didn’t wake up right away. It wasn’t until the doorbell rang several times that he finally stirred. Still groggy, he got out of bed and made his way to the door.
When he opened it, Ichigo was already standing outside with a polite smile, dressed as usual in his sharp suit. Lukas stepped aside without a word and gestured for him to enter.
"Come in, have a seat," Lukas said, his voice still hoarse from sleep. Ichigo gave a small nod and stepped inside, taking a seat on one of the sofas in the living room.
Lukas walked over to the bathroom to wash his face and freshen up. A few minutes later, he returned, now looking more awake, and sat down across from Ichigo.
"You called me?" Ichigo asked, smiling casually, his tone light.
"Yes," Lukas replied, leaning back on the couch. "I forgot that card you lent me during the horse race."
"You mean this?" Ichigo reached into his pocket and pulled out a sleek black card. He held it up for Lukas to see, his expression calm and without a hint of blame.
Lukas looked at it, then nodded. "I can reimburse you for the trouble you had for me," he said, pouring himself a glass of water from the nearby table.
Ichigo waved a hand dismissively. "There is no need for that. I did not go to any trouble for this. It was returned to the chairman this morning. They were shocked to find out that the chairman lost more than a billion yen in a bet," he said with a soft chuckle, slipping the card back into his pocket.
Lukas gave a small smirk. "I called you here for something else," he said, the mood shifting slightly. "I have lots of dollars in cash, with a pay stub, of course. Can you help me deposit it into my bank in the US? I can’t just walk around with so much cash."
Ichigo’s smile widened. "Of course, sir. I can do that," he answered without hesitation. He had all the necessary connections and understood exactly what Lukas needed. Handling this kind of request was no trouble at all for someone like him.
Lukas nodded his head and stood up, walking quietly back into his bed chamber without another word. A moment later, he returned with an enormous amount of cash—27,900,000 dollars—stacked in neat bundles in both of his arms. The sight was jaw-dropping, even if Ichigo didn’t show it openly.
Ichigo, ever composed, merely raised his eyebrows and smiled. In his mind, he chalked it up to Lukas’s fame. The young man was a high-profile player, after all. Perhaps he’d gotten it through a high-paying deal, or maybe something more questionable. Regardless, Ichigo wasn’t one to judge. He had seen plenty of strange things in his line of work.
Lukas placed the cash down on the center table between them with calm hands. Then, as if to answer the unspoken questions, he reached into a drawer and pulled out a folded paper—a Japanese pay stub.
He handed it to Ichigo. "This is from the Japanese military. It’s official documentation."
Ichigo took the paper with a casual glance, but as his eyes scanned the document, his expression shifted. The calm professionalism disappeared for a split second, replaced by wide-eyed surprise. His fingers gripped the pay stub a little tighter.
"The military?" Ichigo echoed softly, rereading the amount and confirming the issuing authority. It was real—no doubt about it. His earlier assumptions fell apart in that moment.
He looked up at Lukas with a new level of respect and curiosity. There was clearly more to this young man than appearances suggested.
Lukas nodded. "Yes, I delivered something, but it’s all legit business, so don’t worry," he said calmly, reaching for a nearby notepad. "Let me write you my bank account number. It’s a Chase Bank account."
He scribbled the details onto the paper and handed it over to Ichigo, who folded the note and slipped it into his jacket pocket without a word. Then, after gathering the bundles of money into his sleek black bag, Ichigo stood up.
"I’ll take care of everything," he said with a slight bow. "Expect the deposit within the day."
Lukas nodded once more, watching him leave. Just as the door opened, Yaho appeared, stepping into the hallway with perfect timing.
She spotted Ichigo, and without hesitation, bowed deeply in respect to her manager. Ichigo returned the gesture with a subtle nod, then continued on his way without a word, disappearing down the corridor.
Yaho straightened up and stepped into the suite. Her expression was calm, but her eyes sparkled with anticipation. She closed the door behind her and quietly walked toward Lukas.
" You brought the contract?" Lukas asked, his voice steady but filled with quiet excitement. He was ready to earn another bonus from the system, and this felt like an important step.
" Yes, I did," Yaho replied with a bright smile, her eyes shining. "I went especially to an English-speaking lawyer to get it all done properly." She sounded proud and a little excited.
" Very well, let’s sign the contract," Lukas said calmly, his eyes scanning the pages carefully. He took his time to read every line, making sure nothing was wrong or missing. After checking everything, he picked up the pen and signed the contract with a steady hand. He felt good inside, especially because Yaho did not mention their private agreement—the one about him taking her to the US, even though she was banned from going there.
" Now then, welcome to Facebook, my CEO," Lukas said with a warm smile on his face. "I will take care of everything else, so don’t worry about a thing."
Yaho nodded her head, with a smile but she wanted to ask something from Lukas.
