Chapter 67: Shelf Testimonials

Tonight at midnight, ’Twilight Boundary’ will be officially launched. Succeed or fail, the moment of truth has come.

Before releasing this book, I felt a bit uneasy, wondering if this kind of folklore-heavy mystery novel would find its footing on Qidian. Now, a month into its release, the audience’s reaction has truly gratified Old Ghost. Whether it’s reader enthusiasm, the number of readers, or the monthly tickets, recommendations, and additions to libraries, all have far exceeded expectations. Towards the end, it even popped up on the new book rankings and held first place for a day and a half. The unfortunate part was, having reached the word count limit, it was delisted the next day. But the wish was fulfilled, and I’m secretly delighted.

Anyway, no beating around the bush. Old Ghost knows what everyone is concerned about, so let me explain clearly.

Firstly, there’s the issue of word count. My previous two books were a bit short. I could make excuses, like saying the outline was just that long, or that the story idea was complete and I didn’t want to pad it out. But the readers, our Old Masters, are never wrong—short is short. So, the first thing I must guarantee is that this book will be long. It will have a minimum of 3,000,000 words, and I’m aiming for 4,000,000, perhaps even 5,000,000. That’s a promise. (I must clarify that although ’The End of Mystery’ was short, it did receive a Galaxy Award nomination, so there! Humph!)

Next is the update schedule. During the new book period, Old Ghost managed to make every Chapter a full 3,000 words. I’m not the type to release massive Chapter dumps, but I will strive for consistency. While ensuring quality, I will steadily update with over 6,000 words daily. Extra updates will depend on my condition, or I might occasionally release a burst of Chapters if I’m aiming for good rankings or milestones. As for today, there will be two Chapters released after midnight, and three more at noon.

Simply put, following a story is fun, but cliffhangers are frustrating. Old Ghost can only try his best to keep everyone satisfied and avoid stopping at crucial moments.
