Chapter 99: Chapter 93 Truth One Chapter 99: Chapter 93 Truth One Jiu’er.

Wang Qing.

Xiao Ling stood in the office, looking worriedly at Lin Fei who was sitting in the leather chair. In his hand, he held a small women’s cell phone, playing a video Xiao Ling had recorded of Lin Fei talking to himself.

“Who are you!!” Lin Fei in the phone first stood up from the lying position on the leather chair, then faced his side and whispered sharply.

“Get out!”

Lin Fei had never imagined he would have such a weak day. He replayed the video on the phone over and over again. His gaze remained calm.

“President… I didn’t mean to record you…” Xiao Ling said uneasily.

Lin Fei looked up at her. Intense headaches kept attacking his brain. But now he had grown accustomed to it. Without Jiu’er, without Wang Qing, everything was just his hallucinations.

“President? What’s wrong with you?” Suddenly, the familiar voice of Jiu’er came from behind him.

Lin Fei turned around abruptly.

Under the sunlight, the curtains fluttered in the wind.

There was nothing there.

He turned back around, his motions tense as a drawn bowstring.

“Your cell phone. I’ve been feeling unwell recently, let Lu Jun help more with the company’s affairs.”

“Okay… okay.” Xiao Ling took back her cell phone, looked at Lin Fei worriedly, hesitated as if she wanted to say something, but in the end, she didn’t speak and carefully left the room.

Lin Fei sat alone in the leather chair, hands covering his eyes.

“No wonder I don’t get headaches when I’m with them… It only hurts when I resist the hallucinations…”

Lin Fei muttered to himself.

Suddenly, the door to the room was urgently knocked.

“Come in!”

“President! Sis has appeared!”

“Where?”

“At the first gas station on Tachibana Avenue!!”

Lin Fei immediately picked up the desk phone.

“Have the upper-level people arrived yet?”

“They’re on their way!” the intelligence department staff on the other end of the line responded solemnly.

“How much longer will they take to arrive?”

“At least another hour!”

Lin Fei fell silent.

With his current strength, facing Sis who was at the peak of Rank C, although he had no chance of winning, he should be able to maintain an unbeatable situation. With the speed of the third style, he could reach any position within a twenty-meter range in an instant.

Dongsheng Gas Station

The weather was overcast, and the entire sky was gray. In November, the temperature had already begun to cool down. A cold wind blew, and the dry leaves on the ground scraped against the cement, making a scratching noise.

A silver-white Mercedes sedan slowly stopped at the side of the gas station, refueling.

Two gas station attendants carefully removed the fuel nozzle from the Mercedes’ fuel tank, then twisted the cap back on.

A man who looked like a prince from a fairy tale rolled down the window. He started the car and slowly moved forward.

On the passenger side window, there was a brief dossier with a colorful portrait clearly visible.

Below the portrait was a line of small print.

“Lin Fei, recent combat record: C-rank Primary Rank Andrew from Hua Nation was killed by him. Supernatural Heart Core disappeared.”

“That is to say, the specific combat power is around Rank C.” A slight smile appeared on the man’s lips.

“I won’t take action.” In the back seat of the Mercedes, a man with white shoulder-length hair sat quietly. His face was covered with a black mask, and his black overcoat made it seem as if he could blend into the darkness at any moment.

“Since it’s a request from Angel secured through someone’s sacrifice, I will certainly fulfill it.”

“If you don’t want to draw Gao Ge’s attention, you can make a fuss however you want,” said the man in the mask softly.

The man driving laughed but did not respond.

*************

“Please, Mr. Zhao.” Lin Fei said solemnly, holding the microphone.

“No problem, but are you sure you want to lure them away by yourself?”

“It’s fine, Sis is only after me. I have to step forward and entangle him; otherwise, he will target everything I have.”

“He won’t cause too much trouble, and we at Shueisha also have our high-end forces. The recent incident with Shunyan has already displeased the higher-ups. Actually, you just need to hide for a while, and wait for our people to arrive,” Mr. Zhao advised over the phone.

“It’s no use, he doesn’t need to know my location, he just needs to control my parents, and I will have no other way. Someone must hold him off for this hour,” Lin Fei replied calmly. The pressure and angst suppressed in his heart were already severely affecting his physical condition. The sudden awakening last night had also caused great damage to his body.

After hanging up the phone, Lin Fei gently rested on the office desk, with the cold surface continuously stimulating the skin of his forehead.

“The car is ready,” Xiao Ling said as she hurriedly pushed the door open.

“Let’s go,” Lin Fei raised his head. In a daze, he seemed to hear a faint cry again—it was Jiu’er’s. He knew. The mark of Yan Shi gave him a peculiar sense of familiarity that made it easy for him to recognize Jiu’er’s voice.

Gripping the ring tightly, the long hair in front of his forehead covered his eyes.

“Why did you draw your sword?” Suddenly, he remembered a question Li Minghui had asked him.

“For life,” he had answered. Of course, just in his mind.

“For life,” Lin Fei whispered. But the real truth in his heart was unclear. He knew that this was not his final answer.

Xiao Ling stood by the door, looking at him worriedly. She knew that Lin Fei had been in very poor condition lately. He seemed to be sick.

Lin Fei, gripping the sword, slowly walked past her. Suddenly, the sound of crying in his ears got louder. Lin Fei almost felt that his entire brain was filled with hair-raising sobs.

“Is someone crying?” he stopped and asked. He really couldn’t distinguish between what was a hallucination and what was real anymore.

“No. Right now, it’s just you and me in the entire headquarters,” Xiao Ling shook her head, her concern growing even deeper in her eyes.

Lin Fei nodded his head. Deciding to ignore the crying.

**************

The person in charge of intelligence and contact sent a message to Sis, and the two sides agreed on a location. Neither wanted to make too much of a fuss.

West Mountain Timberland, beneath the sloping forest, lay a stretch of yellow-green dry grassland, a vast field stretching straight from one side of the highway to a small river several miles away. Sis held the initiative, so he had arrived early. The silver-gray Mercedes was parked by the side of the road, Sis leaned against the car door, quietly lighting a cigarette, while the man in the mask still sat inside the car, silent. There was also a muscular red-haired man in a black tank top standing on one side.

In the distance, a faint sound of a car engine was heard, as a black Audi approached. Lin Fei turned his face to look out the window. The Longsword Ring lay flat on his knees. Xiao Ling drove in silence without a word.

Suddenly, Lin Fei turned his head. Jiu’er was sitting right beside him, snuggled up against him tightly. The familiar scent and milk-like skin seemed like a sedative, slowly calming his mind.

“Why are you smiling in front of me, yet crying in my ears?” Lin Fei whispered.

Jiu’er replied softly, “Maybe it’s because I’m not the real Yan Jiu.”

“President?”

Lin Fei instantly came back to reality. His side was empty, only the faint scent lingered in the air.

“Have we arrived?” He looked out the car window. Not far away on the grassland, a figure as dazzling as the Sun God with golden hair leaned against the Mercedes. Dressed in a silver-gray suit with a black tie, he looked less like someone coming for a battle and more like he was preparing to attend a major company meeting.

From a distance, the other party seemed to sense something and suddenly turned his face. Despite being nearly a hundred meters apart, their gazes met instantly.

True Force within Lin Fei instantly began to circulate rapidly. Suddenly, Jiu’er’s face obscured his vision.

“You’re going to die,” Jiu’er said softly.

Lin Fei remained silent, getting up and opening the car door, “I won’t die,” he said indifferently.

“You’re going to die,” a voice suddenly came from behind. It was Wang Qing’s.

Lin Fei turned to look back. Jiu’er stood beside Wang Qing, both of them watching him calmly.

“You’re going to die,” they said in unison. The words echoed continuously.

Even with his eyes closed, Lin Fei could hear their voices echoing amid the sobs.

“Xiao Ling, you go back first.”

“Okay,” said Xiao Ling, without any comment. She knew that even if she stayed, it would be of no help.
