True Solution of the Sword Dao -

Chapter 424: Chapter 391 Rescue Part 4
Arlington Cemetery
On a patch of grass behind them, two figures stood in silent confrontation. Layers of distorted transparent force fields twisted and tangled around them ceaselessly. The air, too, distorted the light like a hall of mirrors. From this vantage point, all one could see in the distance was a twisted image.
Ye Yuhua held a Black Longsword in her hand. Her left arm bore a cut through her black suit and her white shirt underneath was slowly stained red with blood.
She looked solemnly at her opponent. The strength of her adversary had surpassed her expectations.
Not more than a dozen meters away on the grass, a sturdy man whose left face was patterned with silver designs also watched her, his expression just as solemn. He wore a white T-shirt and blue jeans. At the center of his chest, a spot of crimson was faintly visible through the white tee, a clear sign of injury.
"Do we continue?" the man asked calmly. "Our Strengths barely differ, but my ability can fully entangle you."
"There’s still time for you to step aside," Ye Yuhua gripped the hilt of her sword.
"Oh? Do you have another trick up your sleeve?" Interest flickered in the man’s eyes, and the silver patterns on his face suddenly glowed with a silvery light.
"Do you understand what you’re doing? The Dark Alliance is about to form an alliance with the Golden Alliance; behind us stands one of the golden councilors," Ye Yuhua said gravely.
"I’m aware. But that doesn’t prevent us from having a little exchange, does it? Isn’t that what you in the Hua Nation call a friendly spar?" The man shrugged innocently.
Ye Yuhua was about to speak when Lin Fei’s voice reached her ears.
"They might be hoping to capture Lin You and the other Scepter Contractors to use as bargaining chips in a trade with me for greater benefits. Use your full Strength, he won’t dare to fight you with all his might."
Ye Yuhua nodded.
A faint blue planet’s phantom slowly emerged behind her. The shadow of the phantom, dozens of meters tall and with an incomparable oppressive force, slowly rotated, casting a massive shadow over the grass where they stood.
The man’s complexion altered slightly.
"You’re insane! Summoning such a level of Strength will draw the attention of the Temple of the Gods!"
"It doesn’t matter," Ye Yuhua said indifferently.
Boom!!
Suddenly, a faint sound of an explosion came from afar.
Followed by the alarms of numerous vehicles set off by the vibrations.
Chaos erupted in the underground parking garage.
Then came the sound of hurried footsteps drawing closer.
Ye Yuhua hesitated, glanced in the direction of the parking garage, and the massive phantom behind her instantly disappeared.
The man with the silver patterns also let out a small sigh of relief.
"Forget it, I’m done playing with you; I’ve already completed my mission. Someone will replace me soon. Take care," he said, turned, and walked away.
Ye Yuhua watched him disappear around the corner of the cemetery.
"My lord, we are too short on Strength..." Ye Yuhua murmured.
Lin Fei did not respond, but she knew he must have heard her.
It was a while before Lin Fei finally spoke slowly.
"I will consider resurrecting new warriors."
On the slope of the parking garage exit, four figures ran out of the parking garage at high speed, their heavy breath evident.
Ye Yuhua recognized one of them as Lin You, the Sword Master’s sister and the person she was tasked to protect. Thankfully, Lin You seemed to be only tired and not seriously hurt.
The four of them briefly caught their breath before quickly heading towards the highway. They waved down a passing taxi, hopped in, and the car vanished into the night along the road.
Ye Yuhua watched the car leave until it disappeared completely, and then she turned and left, melting into the darkness.

In the taxi
The four people, along with a cat, crowded into the back seat, leaving the front passenger seat empty.
"What do we do now?" Lin You asked softly.
Merrill flicked a finger towards the taxi driver, and a light green light barrier immediately separated the front and back of the car.
"Now, we can talk freely."
"That woman was tough. It took all of us working together to handle her. It’s fortunate she was the only one who came out from the base. If there had been more, we might not have made it out..." Feil said, still shaken by the incident.
"For now, we’ll head back to the urban area and find a place to settle down. I have a friend who can help us find a safe place to stay," Cheng Guang stated succinctly. "Now that they’ve found us, the security next time will likely be even tighter. We’ll need to think of another way to rescue Kelan."
"That’s right, but we owe a lot to Xiao You for this time. Good job. You were very quick to react." Merrill pulled Lin You into her embrace and sat her down, playfully pinching Lin You’s cheek. "Here’s your reward~" She exaggeratedly pulled Lin You’s cheek outwards.
"What are you doing..." Lin You struggled to escape the clutches, but the clear difference in Strength left her unable to break free.

Underground Base
In the control room, an officer with a grim expression faced the redhead, Alice. The two stood in silence, one standing, the other sitting.
Alice rubbed her temples in agony.
In the midst of that battle, she was directly slapped on the forehead from behind by that little girl radiating cold air. Then she completely lost consciousness. It was clear she had been knocked out.
Her head was still aching even now.
"Alice, even you couldn’t handle it. Looks like a frontal approach just isn’t going to work," the male officer said in a low voice.
"Indeed," Alice responded, somewhat resentfully, "If I were one-on-one, I could totally take them down, but when they’re all together and coordinating, I’m out of luck. Their abilities complement each other, and their teamwork isn’t bad either."
"Hmm, I understand. Go and rest for now," the officer took a deep breath, "As long as we have Kelan, they won’t give up."
"But they didn’t kill me, what mercy," Alice said with scorn. "Roman, relying solely on me probably won’t be enough. You’d better request reinforcements from our superiors."
The officer stood, his hand resting on the desk beside him. "There are no reinforcements; it’s just the two of us," he said flatly. "The higher-ups have already negotiated with those who’ve come; it’s just that I’m not willing to give in..."
Alice seemed surprised at the lack of reinforcements, her expression first one of astonishment, then gradually calming down.
"No support then, no support. The higher-ups’ attitude is probably acquiescence, by default. Since the opponents are forces we can negotiate with, they definitely won’t be just those few people. So it can be deduced that their other strong players must be held up by our superiors."
"Correct, the higher-ups have given us free rein to handle this as we wish, as long as we can keep these people here, the credit will be ours," Roman said earnestly.
"Looks like we need a good plan," Alice nodded. "I’m going to rest first."
"Hmm."

In the taxi
Four people were squeezed together in the back seat.
Lin You endured Merrill’s hands wandering over her body, turning her head to look out the car window.
The car was driving steadily, not too fast. The driver obviously had good skills.
The trees lining the highway whizzed by in reverse. The road itself became a blur.
Every now and then, cars would brush past the taxi. Some came from the opposite direction, others overtook from behind.
Cheng Guang was chatting enthusiastically with the driver in English. Chris was curled up in a sleepy daze next to the other car door, Feil comfortably asleep in Chris’s arms. Merrill, meanwhile, was still amusing herself with her ceaseless antics.
Lin You suddenly felt homesick. Looking at the few people in the car, she suddenly had the urge to rest in peace and quiet. Always training, fighting, rush here and there, then being forced to lie and trick her parents, while still having to keep up with her studies...
Lin You suddenly felt so very tired.
Having rescued someone, she should be able to take a good rest now... She thought to herself.
"Tired, aren’t you?" Merrill gently rubbed Lin You’s cheek, tenderly pulling her into her embrace, feeling somewhat sorry for the girl who was only in her teens.
Aside from Lin You, everyone else seated there were at least several decades old, with Chris being the youngest at over forty. It was indeed too cruel for a teenager to be involved in such a fast-paced and dangerous life.
Lin You buried her face deep into Merrill’s soft chest, eyes still fixed on the quickly passing scenery outside the car window.
Suddenly, the taxi began to slow down. As it wasn’t going very fast to begin with, the decrease in speed made it feel even slower.
"Looks like there’s been a car accident up ahead," the driver said in English.
"An accident?" Lin You understood this phrase. She had memorized a bunch of basic English phrases and understood simple sentences.
She sat up to look out the window.
Indeed, on the left side of the highway ahead, two small cars had collided, but there were no figures beside them.
As the taxi passed by, the faint scent of gasoline entered through the window to Lin You’s nose.
"It’s leaking oil," she said, furrowing her brow.
"Yeah, it’s getting dangerous," Merrill said, also frowning.
As the people inside the taxi passed by, no one noticed Lin You’s expression. She seemed to have noticed something.
"There’s been an accident here, why hasn’t the police come to deal with it? Why not close the road section?"
"You’re right, it’s strange. Normally..." Cheng Guang also expressed her confusion.
"Maybe no one’s even called the police!! There could still be someone inside the cars!" Lin You suddenly shouted in English. "Stop the car!! Uncle driver, stop!!" She yelled loudly.
"What’s the matter, little You?" Merrill whispered.
"What’s going on, little girl?" The uncle driver turned his head in confusion. However, he slowed down and gradually stopped the car.
"We need to save people!!" Lin You blurted out before bounding out of the car.
"Save people?" Merrill looked flabbergasted. She and Cheng Guang exchanged glances, seeing an unfamiliar expression in each other’s eyes.
Chris was also awake by now, rubbing her eyes, watching Lin You running from the car. She quickly opened her car door and stepped out as well.
Lin You’s hands quickly became covered in white frost, without Feil’s bonus, she only had F-grade strength, and the Ice System abilities she could manipulate were pitifully limited. Even so, she rushed to the side of the two cars without hesitation.
The two vehicles were almost squeezed into each other, fused completely together. As soon as Lin You’s frost-covered hands touched the car body, wisps of white vapor rose, obviously the reaction of high temperature meeting the frost layer.
Lin You first checked one of the small cars, the driver in the pilot seat had half his head clearly caved in from the impact, obviously beyond saving. In another car, a young beautiful woman lay over the steering wheel, her face covered in blood. Half of the white airbag was stained red with blood. A faint crying sound came from the back seat.
"There are people!! There really are people!!" Lin You shouted loudly, "Hurry and help, there are still people alive!!" (To be continued. If you like this work, welcome to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation tickets, Monthly Tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
