Chapter 411: Chapter 378 Ending Part 1_3

Magic’s figure emerged from the black mist.

At this moment, his body was covered in red stripes, much like the tribal wizards of ancient rituals, eerie and mysterious. These red patterns seemed to be inexplicable symbols, or perhaps a type of writing, a language. They twisted and changed, faintly emitting a light scent of blood, clearly likely painted with blood. The giant python on him had also disappeared, and his upper body clothing was completely torn apart.

The moment he steadied himself, Magic glanced at Lophista, chuckled twice, and casually discarded his already rotten upper clothing, revealing frighteningly strong muscles, much like those of a bodybuilding coach. On his bronze skin, slabs of muscles bulged pronouncedly, his whole upper body completely resembling chunks of meat connected together, every part lined with wavy muscle textures.

"The final moment has arrived," Magic said softly. "Lophista, you are quite impressive, to be able to stand up to me with just a Holy Artifact...."

"The strength of the double-headed serpent is also well known. I broke through the Golden Level decades ago, yet now I am forced to use the Sky Wings. Revealing the power I’ve hidden for many years, yet still unable to best you." Lophista said calmly. "Now, the Crystal Pillar is right ahead. You have the most Aura, why don’t you go and touch it to gain control rights?"

Magic scoffed.

"I have the most Aura? I don’t think so... Just now, the old man from the Eastern Orthodox Cult shouted about passing the Aura to someone, everybody heard it. Now you are running the fastest, who would believe it’s not passed to you? Why don’t you go and touch the Crystal Pillar?"

Holding the most Aura or not, touching the Crystal Pillar would be pointless. Under these circumstances, it’s very likely to be preemptively targeted as the enemy’s primary force, a simple probability problem.

"If my Aura isn’t the most, then even if I rushed in to touch the Crystal Pillar, I could be hit by all the forces concentrated, and in that instant, even I wouldn’t be able to withstand it," Magic said with a cold laugh. "But I suggest you give it a try, who knows, maybe you do have the most Aura? Just by touching it for a moment, you could gain control rights. Such a great opportunity shouldn’t be missed."

"There’s no one else around here right now, but that might change if we wait any longer. I suggest you hurry up," Lophista said in a grave tone.

The two faced off, each watching the other. Previously they had hurried over in a rush, but upon arriving at the scene, they instead calmed down, showing no urgency at all.

The situation now was that no one knew who really had the most Aura, so anyone approaching the Crystal Pillar would be openly and covertly attacked by all enemies. It might even include stealth attacks from their own side.

After all, Lophista and the heretics were always at odds, and although there was an agreement with the Eastern Orthodox Cult, the Blood Curtain incident had also introduced discord. A stealth attack at a critical moment, if it failed, could not reasonably be blamed on anyone. Given the chaotic situation, the chance of detecting the attacker was extremely low, and such powerful individuals had naturally numerous means for a stealth attack, hard to guard against.

As for Magic, he had to be wary of both his opponents and his own side. The other council members were not fools; his intentions had definitely been noticed. Besides, control rights could potentially determine the powerful influence in the future. Nobody would let this opportunity slip. A stealth attack was almost certain to occur.

That meant if Magic decided to act, he was likely to be struck by both sides. He was also extremely cautious.

Earlier, the rush to this place was, in fact, only to see if he could touch the pillar and gain control before everyone else arrived.

But now, it seemed a bit too late.

The area around the two was silent. There was no change or sound in the darkness.

Apart from the sound of the wind, there was not the slightest noise.

But it was in this silence that a faint chill, making one’s hair stand on end, subtly lingered in the air.

Luo Fei and Lophista were no fools; they both knew that someone had gotten here before them and was now waiting.

In such a situation, neither of them dared to make a move.

Hiss...

A flash of blue electric light passed by.

A semi-circular blue electric light shield suddenly appeared in the middle of another intersection.

The electric light gradually dissipated.

It revealed the powerhouses from the factions of the Heretics, the Eastern Orthodox Cult, and the Holy See Knights.

"We’ve arrived... at the Amethyst Pillar, the center for the trial of control," a black-robed old man said in a deep voice. His dim eyes fixated on the Amethyst Pillar, his face faintly exhibiting an indescribable color. It seemed like he was reminiscing or remembering something.

Krei was being supported by two subordinates, resting to the side. He clearly couldn’t hold on any longer.

"What do we do now?" he asked hoarsely. "We certainly aren’t eyeing control. According to the agreement, our sincerity has been substantial."

"Our friends from the Heretics, the Universal Pontiff will remember your assistance," a black-robed figure behind the old man stepped forward and said.

The Silver Armored Knight on the side also wanted to express thanks, but considering the enmity between the Heretics and the Holy See, he couldn’t lower his face to do so and just remained silent with a stern face.

The old man glanced at Luo Fei and Lophista without a change in expression.

He wasn’t sure if everyone’s Mark Aura was given to Lophista, but the ones behind him, and those from the Heretics, were all given to himself. At this moment, he had a total of twenty auras. He was only five auras short of holding the majority, which could give him a great chance at gaining control. This was exactly why he had taken the initiative to thank the people from the Heretics earlier.

Indeed, if no one consolidated all the auras, Luo Fei and Lophista might very likely be the ones possessing the most auras. Lophista was likely gathering most members’ auras on himself from the start, while Luo Fei might have the auras obtained by those on the Magic side.

Both of them likely had between six to thirteen auras.

"This seems to suggest..." The old man’s eyes narrowed slightly as his gaze discreetly swept across the Amethyst Pillar. "I might be the one with the most auras... This is a very likely possibility. Both men are quite confident about having the most auras themselves. It’s impossible that one of them only has a few. Perhaps they have split the remaining twenty or so auras. Under this situation, it is absolutely impossible for them to exceed my twenty auras..." The old man’s corners of the mouth twitched as if he was saying something, but no sound came out.

However, the two black-robed figures behind him quietly stepped back, blending into the shadows behind them.

The old man stealthily extended his left hand, a bit of dark red slowly emerging. (To be continued. If you like this work, welcome to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation tickets and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
