Chapter 379: Chapter 355: Situation Part 2

He gently closed his eyes, and the golden pattern on his forehead flashed briefly.

"Is this the power of the Divine Artifact...." he murmured. "I see....."

The moment the golden pattern flashed, the strange phenomena in the entire hall also vanished simultaneously.

Only the small crystal earring quietly lay in his hand.

The next day

East Pacific Ocean, Phosphor Island

On the boundless blue sea, Phosphor Island was like a unique dot sprinkled on a curtain, surrounded continuously by waves that perpetually struck the cliff beaches of the island, producing a rushing sound.

The island formed a crescent shape, with sea water intermittently cutting through the middle, discontinuously, like the scales of a fish. The island was covered with lush green vegetation and forests, from afar, some white buildings faintly emitted white lights, shimmering through the woods.

In a valley among the island’s forests.

A group of people in various outfits were busy moving something. Some armed with guns, wearing white military uniforms, were on alert at the perimeter.

The uniforms of these people were not from any country, but were purely white like the German military style, with a gold pattern on the right chest, the type of flower was unknown, extremely conspicuous.

Among these people, two men in white uniforms were sitting in front of a giant rock, with a laptop on it displaying windows rapidly flashing with data.

"The organizations with the same goals as ours now include heretics, the Holy See in two parts, and the Temple of the Gods and religious aspects have not sent anyone, at least not openly," said the man in front of the computer gravely. "Of course, this doesn’t rule out them sending someone secretly."

"Speaking of which, who designed our uniforms? They’re pretty good," casually asked another man wearing glasses sitting beside him.

"I heard it was the Logistics Department, after consulting the opinions of the twelve leaders, they finally decided on this design," the man using the computer replied, "but compared to the German uniform, I still prefer the uniforms of the United Kingdom’s special elite forces, they are more comfortable to wear."

The outfit similar to the German uniforms required wearing a tie, as did the replicated white uniforms which also included a black tie. This made the two men look more like they were attending an award ceremony rather than preparing for a secret operation.

However, apart from these two, the rest of the people around them wore soldier uniforms akin to camouflage gear, without ties and only very simple field-corrosion styles, with various hidden packs strapped all over.

"We are just part of the foreign service army. There is still a long distance from the organization’s special elite forces. Of course, if you work a bit harder, you might have a chance to get in," the man observing the computer screen said thoughtfully.

"Wait!!" he suddenly pointed at a window that flashed by and shouted urgently, "Stop there. Intercepted!! That’s it!!"

"Alert! Second team! Go check it out!"

The officer using the computer commanded gravely.

One of the armed soldiers nearby silently nodded, gestured with his hand, and a dozen soldiers followed him running towards the perimeter.

On the computer screen, the window that had just flashed appeared again.

It was a series of completely disordered gibberish, all indiscernible letters and strange symbols.

"Try decoding with Candice? If not, switch the dictionary!" the man beside him commanded gravely.

"Right."

A rapid succession of keystrokes on the laptop clattered continuously.

Soon, rows of gibberish automatically transformed into specific data and numbers.

"This format... it’s an audio file! Try this format."

The computer swiftly displayed several short bar-shaped windows, within which a thin green line continuously moved.

"Got it!"

"Listen carefully."

On the computer screen, after a hissing sound, a standard American English female voice came through.

"Aesir, I’ve arrived, this is the last test, if it doesn’t work, the higher-ups’ plan is to pull out entirely."

"Unknown forces have appeared on the second Phosphor Island, suggest observing for a while," another deep male voice responded.

"No need. The special forces from above have already arrived. What follows is not our concern."

The audio then cut off, followed by hissing.

"Identify the signal source."

"It’s from the Holy See."

The two exchanged a glance. Both saw a hint of horror in each other’s eyes.

"My God, we’ve caught a big fish! Report to the higher-ups immediately!"

***************

In a forest on Phosphor Island.

Amidst a flash of electricity.

Lin Fei’s figure slowly emerged from the void.

There was no one around, only the sound of waves from a distant beach. The air was thick with the salty scent of the sea.

"Is this Phosphor Island?" He looked down and raised his wrist to check his watch.

Suddenly, a light screen popped up on it. After beeping twice, a map appeared on the translucent, glass-like screen, with a red dot flashing on it.

"By merging a crystal, I gained the power to descend and utilize the abilities of a Psychic who has merged with a True Force seed. If I merge another or collect them all, perhaps something unexpected will appear." A thin layer of gray mist enveloped Lin Fei’s body, completely obscuring his figure.

"Gabi!" he called out softly to his watch.

Instantly, a burst of blue-violet electricity flashed behind him and rapidly expanded.

After the electricity passed, a group of figures appeared in the forest. They were all dressed in black capes tinged with red. The capes covered them tightly without a single gap, even over their heads, where they wore fierce metal helmets. A layer of dark mist obscured their faces, making them unidentifiable, except for a pair of eyes emitting a red glow through the mist.

The one at the very front wearing a golden helmet took a step forward. In a voice accompanied by a hissing like that of a snake, he respectfully said,

"Greetings, First Councillor. I am Gabi, the Golden Bat."

Lin Fei nodded. He scanned the cloaked figures before him, noting one golden helmet and ten silver, exactly the forces promised by the Night King during their time at Dark Night Castle. The golden helmet indicated that its wearer had Elite Level strength, while the silver helmets indicated C Level strength. This meant that the Night King had sent him substantial support, with one Elite Level and ten C Level individuals.

"Yicheng Yuan, have you arrived?"

"I have been waiting for a long time," Yuan Yicheng said respectfully in his mind.

Lin Fei took one last look at the eleven people in front of him.

"Has Lord Griffin’s people not arrived yet?"

"They have already arrived," Gabi said softly. "Their external organization is already setting up a counter-surveillance zone."

"Inform them to transfer the data to me."

Soon, Lin Fei’s watch beeped softly, and the light screen immediately displayed rows of letters, all containing relevant information.

Earth Dragon Den, a dwelling place of the Earth Dragons—a once-glorious species on Earth and descendants of dragons. Like their ancestors, these immense and terrifying creatures possessed extremely powerful physical attacks and energy resistance. Moreover, they had formidable vitality and significant innate abilities. Having inherited the power of their ancestors, the Earth Dragons also had the habit of collecting treasures. With their formidable strength, the treasures they amassed were naturally numerous.

So, an Earth Dragon Den was indeed a true treasure trove, naturally attracting many powerful beings.

On Phosphor Island, there was a dormant volcano, and the Earth Dragon Den was located inside the mouth of this volcano. The mouth of the volcano had naturally accumulated water over the years, forming a vast lake, commonly known as a volcanic lake.

To enter the Earth Dragon Den, one must dive into the bottom of the volcanic lake.

The factions currently involved include heretics, the Holy See, and them.

Lin Fei’s watch’s light screen popped up another split-screen, automatically displaying a photograph of a bald black man.

"Heretic leader Benjamin, Elite Level strength, commanding the Lightning Storm Force."

The photograph flashed by, changing into a woman with brown curly hair. Her eyes were sinister, with a hawkish nose and slightly upturned lips, giving off a domineering and venomous aura.

"Juan, Holy See leader, Knight Level fighter. Commands the Light of the Wind Force. Belongs to the Holy Sound Department."

"Knight Level..." Lin Fei, who had read much information, knew that the Holy See did not classify by conventional letter grades but divided all combat personnel into two categories: Elite Level and Knight Level. Elite Level included all combat personnel below Knight Level, which might have further internal divisions, although no information had leaked. Knight Level referred to all fighters in the Holy See who had reached Elite Level strength. Apart from the three major Knight Orders, naturally, the Holy See had Elite Level fighters not affiliated with the Knight Orders or situated in other departments. Any fighter reaching Elite Level received a Knight Level medal and corresponding benefits and status. Within Knight Level, the ranks were generally Earth Knight, Sky Knight, Silver Knight, and the strongest, Golden Knight.

All Elite Level and above were classified as Knight Level, with Golden Knights following Silver Knights, who were actually A Level fighters. Currently, the publicly announced strength was only that of Cardinals.

The Holy See’s subordinate organizations were divided into three parts: the State Council, the Religious Court, and eleven Apostolic Committees.

The three major organizations jointly managed the vast economic and armed forces of both the Surface World and the Inner World. To consider only a single A Level was completely a joke. Even the heretic tribunal was just one of these organizations. The three major Knight Orders were only part of the State Council’s subordinate departments, specifically the Holy Light Department and the Religious Tribunal.

The disclosed Secretary of State, a Cardinal, was a publicly known A Level fighter. In the entire Holy See, anyone at the ministerial level was at the Cardinal level, which meant they were likely either A Level fighters or at least at the Peak of Elite Level.

Counting it all, such an enormous force meant that the three major Knight Orders were just the tip of the iceberg.

In contrast, Lin Fei’s newly established Golden Organization was like a baby just learning to walk, frighteningly fragile. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, you are welcome to visit QiDian (qidian.com) to vote or send a Monthly Ticket. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
