Chapter 373: Chapter 349: Premonition 2

"Thank you, Captain." Wang Kaishan hurried over.

But he was immediately stopped by Lin Fei’s subordinate.

"What are you doing!! The police are right here! Are you thinking of starting a fight!?" Wang Kaishan exclaimed sternly.

The young man sneered and was about to speak, but he was held down by two policemen, one on the left and the other on the right, grabbing his arms.

"Behave yourself!!"

"Don’t move!!"

The policemen moved swiftly, and the young man did not resist, letting them hold him with a grin.

However, Lin Fei watched as Xiao Ling led Lin You towards the door, only to be stopped by several policemen who had just entered. Her brow furrowed slightly.

Bang bang!!

A figure dashed to the entrance and kicked out with two feet, forcing apart the two policemen blocking Lin You.

Without even a grunt, the two were kicked into the wall, tumbling down motionless, apparently knocked unconscious. It was unclear what technique the attacker used.

The figure stood still, revealing herself to be a young and beautiful woman who had been standing behind Lin Fei.

Everyone was stunned.

The leading policewoman’s face changed, and she quickly drew her pistol, aiming at the woman standing at the door.

Suddenly, a flurry of weapons being drawn echoed, and the surrounding policemen also drew their guns, aiming at the woman.

"That’s enough, Xiao Ruo. They are just following orders," Lin Fei finally spoke.

Somehow, when he said this, the atmosphere in the whole hall seemed to slightly relax.

But then, Lin Fei gently lifted the wine glass on the table: "Let’s not have any casualties."

The beautiful woman, wearing a plain white garment reminiscent of a Taekwondo uniform, seemed oblivious to the guns aimed at her.

Upon hearing Lin Fei’s words, she nodded slightly.

Xiao Ling, however, didn’t look back as she pulled Xiao You out of the restaurant, clearly understanding Lin Fei’s intention.

The policewoman watched the woman in white intently, a sense of extreme danger continuously assaulting her nerves. It felt as if she were not aiming at a person, but at a ferocious, bloodthirsty lion.

Cold sweat quietly seeped from her forehead and back. Her gun trembled slightly.

Suddenly, the woman in white gave her a slight smile.

A chill instantly rushed from her tailbone to the top of her head. Almost reflexively, the policewoman pulled the trigger.

Hiss!

A flash of silver light passed by.

The front half of the pistol was cleanly sliced into two pieces.

The policewoman, pale-faced, frantically pulled the trigger to no avail, the clicks of the trigger mechanism producing no other sound.

Unbeknownst to her, the woman in white now held a Black Longsword in her hand, the silver blade slowly sheathing.

The hall fell into complete silence. Surrounding her, the weapons and batons in the hands of over a dozen policemen were all sliced in half. Hard pieces clattered to the ground, creating tinkling sounds.

Kong Qiyu and his group were also stunned.

"You... you must be joking...!!" a young man muttered.

"A legendary master of swordsmanship??!!" Kong Qiyi stared intently at the woman in white at the center.

The fear in the eyes of the group of young people quickly receded, replaced by an intense eagerness.

Whew!

Lin Fei suddenly stood up.

The crimson wine glass in his hand rippled slightly.

Whoosh...

The wine slowly flowed down over Wang Kaishan’s head, who dared not move an inch. By now, even a fool would know what kind of person he was dealing with. Someone who the police could act uninhibitedly with must either have an extremely powerful backing or be an outright criminal.

Lin Fei casually disposed of the wine glass.

Now that Lin You had left, he had no more concerns.

The smile on his face slowly faded, leaving only a sheet of coldness.

As cold as the expression on his face, the other people in the hall also felt a chill in their hearts.

"Aside from those three, everyone else out," he said indifferently.

A policeman immediately reacted.

"You... you dare assault police officers!!" he shouted in both shock and anger.

The young man who had been held earlier was now released,

"National Department business," he calmly produced a document. "Alright, waste of space, roll on back yourselves," he said with a harmonious smile on his face.

The policewoman’s face flushed between shades of green and red. She could clearly see the National Security Department badge in the man’s hand. She opened her mouth, but still said nothing.

The aura of the woman in white gave her a deep sense of oppression, standing in the hall as if she were locked in a cage with a lion. A strong sense of crisis continuously urged her to leave quickly.

The restaurant manager silently led a group of people cautiously to open the front doors.

The policewoman didn’t speak.

"Fall out..." She almost growled the words through clenched teeth.

The line of policemen dashed out of the restaurant as if they had been pardoned.

The policewoman walked out with Kong Qiyu and a group of young people. The young people seemed to also realize they were safe, continuously looking back at Lin Fei and the woman in white, eagerness almost brimming from their eyes.

Outside the restaurant, several police cars with flashing lights were already parked.

Some passersby and nearby shop owners also gathered, adding to the bustling atmosphere.

Watching a line of people being led out of the restaurant by the police, the murmurings of the crowd suddenly grew louder.

Whizz...

Amidst the rapid sound of braking.

Several more cars quickly stopped beside the police car. Amidst the opening and closing of car doors, seven or eight middle-aged men and women dressed in different clothes walked down with an urgent expression.

"Little Rong!! Are you alright?"

"Bing Bing! Good thing you’re okay!"

"Dad, it’s fine, we weren’t involved at all," one boy with earrings said, his face devoid of any fear and instead filled with excitement and agitation.

The other few youngsters felt the same way. They shared glances that silently communicated their inexplicable eagerness, all tacitly agreeing not to mention the details to their parents right there.

Kong Qiyu and her siblings were gently embraced by a young woman.

"Are you alright?" the woman said softly.

Kong Qiyu exhaled deeply, just about to speak, but the woman interrupted her.

"Don’t say anything now. Just be glad that you’re unharmed. To come out safe from that man’s clutches is lucky for you."

The two sisters were baffled.

"How about it, Kong Que?" a regal woman clad in opulent clothing approached them.

"Fortunately, nobody was harmed; he didn’t take out his anger on others," Kong Que replied, relieved. "If we really had been implicated, there would have been nothing we could do."

"Who is he really to have such great power that he can ignore the combined strength of our five families?" the regal woman spat bitterly, "He blocked the entire restaurant, not even the police could handle him; I refuse to believe it! Is Ping City really under his sole command?"

"In a sense, yes," Kong Que replied bitterly.

Kong Qiyu, her sister, and the woman were stunned.

Inside the restaurant

Lin Fei stood up and looked out at the scene outside the restaurant from the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The Wang Kaishan family; Wang Jifan had not yet awakened, but the couple was already turning pale.

"This...this leader..." Wang Kaishan didn’t know exactly what to call Lin Fei, but recalling that his subordinate had shown a National Security card, he simply chose to call him ’leader.’

Lin Fei also found it challenging to decide how to deal with this family.

Killing them outright was his preferred method, but Lin You would probably not accept that. Just because of a minor incident, calling for a family’s demise, Lin You definitely wouldn’t accept that. After all, Wang Jifan was her classmate, and they would have to see each other again.

But if he just let them go, for both him and the power behind him, it would be a blow to his authority. Having taken action, to end up with an unfinished job, outsiders might think they were pressured by someone behind Wang Kaishan.

By this point, it was no longer just a matter of fighting spirit.

"The Wang family in Ping City mainly revolves around Wang Lin, and is not very powerful here," Chen Chen whispered the results of the phone investigation in Lin Fei’s ear.

"Forget it, just cripple one of his hands and one of his feet," Lin Fei said as the thought struck him.

Wang Kaishan and his wife’s pupils shrunk, their minds turning icy cold.

Bang!!

"No!!"

A figure burst through the restaurant doors, standing at the entrance, gasping for breath.

It was actually Lin You. Her face was pale, yet her cheeks were tinged with a flush from running.

Behind her, another figure also rushed in urgently.

"What’s wrong, Little You?" Xiao Ling asked anxiously. "Why did you come back?"

Lin You looked straight at Lin Fei.

"Please don’t do this," she pleaded.

Lin Fei gazed intently at her.

After a while, he showed a slight smile.

"Little You, why did you come back?" he said softly. "I haven’t finished my business here. Go home first, and I’ll come to find you later, okay? Be good."

Lin You kept her gaze fixed on Lin Fei.

She had never seen such a stranger Lin Fei.

His face wore a gentle smile, yet it felt anything but warm. That cold chill spread slowly throughout the hall.

"Please don’t be this way...okay?" Lin You suddenly felt a sour sensation in her heart, and before she knew it, tears began to stream down her cheeks.

"Please don’t..." As she looked at Lin Fei, she suddenly felt an inexplicable heartache.

Lin Fei froze, staring blankly at her, his eyes slowly filling with tenderness.

He walked over and stood before Lin You.

He reached out and gently embraced her.

"It’s okay..." he murmured, a hint of light blue fluorescence flickering in his eyes.

Since his rebirth, he had never stopped working relentlessly.

He had no time for leisurely activities typical of ordinary boys, not for hanging out, not for leisurely walks, nor even for sleeping.

He was frightened, dreading that the scene from his past life would repeat itself. He gave up everything just to alter that moment.

But no matter what, he was still human, tired, and longing for companionship and understanding.

Even if he had grown accustomed to loneliness and tried to forget everything, some things aren’t so easily forgotten.

And now, Lin You seemed to have a premonition.

"It’s okay, I will always be by your side..." (To be continued. If you enjoy this series, please visit qidian.com to cast your support votes and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
