True Solution of the Sword Dao
Chapter 362 - 339 Chaos Part 2

Chapter 362: Chapter 339 Chaos Part 2

For three consecutive days, Lin Fei and his companion, under the guidance of Li Wenmin, nearly roamed every corner of the Goddess Statue District.

Finally, it was time to participate in the new soldier competition.

"The rules are out," Lin Fei lay back on the bed in his room, holding a printed sheet of paper in his hand. The hotel room was almost indistinguishable from the outside world, except for a few extra features.

The sheet clearly listed the specific location, time, and elimination conditions of the new soldier competition.

"The new soldier competition is actually just all willing recruits entering a big arena, where after an hour, those who have knocked down a hundred people automatically qualify. Then, these contestants enter a new arena for the second round of melee, where knocking down more than fifty people is required to advance. After that comes the third melee, where the champion is the one who knocks down the most people. The rules are simple, as long as there are no fatalities, injuries and disabilities are within permitted limits."

Clad in gold, he also held a sheet and spoke in a soft voice.

"The teleportation formation is already set. Let’s go," Lin Fei walked over to a corner of the room where a faintly glowing white circular array was present.

The woman in gold threw down her sheet and walked up to the array with light steps.

Swoosh!

A flash of white light, and the two disappeared from the room.

*************

In the Goddess Statue District, close to the residential area, a building like a sports stadium from the outside world towered over the spot.

In front of the white building with European-style curved architecture, batch after batch of black-armored recruits continuously marched in. Compared to the immense structure, they looked as insignificant as ants to a pond.

Within one corner of the building, in a room where the dim light of the teleportation formation kept brightening and fading, groups of black-armored recruits emerged from a teleportation room.

Click!

Lin Fei opened the door of a teleportation room and walked out smoothly.

He glanced at the snowy white wall right in front of the room, which bore an English map marked with names. The layout of the entire building was on it.

"The new soldier competition area is on the first floor."

Two black-armored recruits walked past Lin Fei and the woman in gold, talking as they went.

"Hurry up, there are only a few minutes left," urged one of the black-armored soldiers urgently.

Then came another flurry of hurried footsteps, as some hurried black-armored recruits passed by.

"Looks like it’s almost time," the woman in gold murmured softly.

"Hmm."

Lin Fei left the room, quickly blending in with the black-armored recruits as he jogged down the corridor. Dressed in black armor himself, he was indistinguishable from the rest. After descending two flights of stairs, the group finally reached the entrance of a large hall.

At the entrance of the hall, a big bearded man was sitting at a table.

"Those wanting to compete must come register their shoulder badges," the man stated calmly.

Some black-armored recruits directly pressed their badges onto the table in front of him, a soft beep signifying completion of their registration.

"This is a forbidden competition area, where fighting is not allowed. After registration, go inside and wait for further instructions before starting. I’ll say this upfront: although killing opponents is forbidden in the competition, there is a threshold for injuries and disabilities. It’s still not too late to back out now."

"As long as one secures a certain ranking, they stand a chance to be picked as a Successor by a B-level powerhouse; who would drop out now, at this point?" a black-armored soldier spoke in a low voice.

"Nixon, it’s you, you’re actually participating in the new soldier competition too..." A black-armored recruit with a sinister gaze turned towards the speaking soldier.

"Li Xiao, you’re still alive, seems like last time I went too easy on you," Nixon chuckled darkly.

Lin Fei, standing in line behind them, noticed that both individuals emitted auras that were above C-level; it was unclear whether they were hiding their true strength, but now it seemed that this new soldier competition was different from the last one.

In the previous competition, a single C-level powerhouse could take the crown, but this time, it might not be so certain.

The standoff between the two black-armored recruits caused a pressure that made the surrounding people retreat. Some recruits began to hesitate, clearly intimidated by their presence, harboring a sense of fear.

**********

Inside the competition area,

A group of black-armored recruits surrounded a young man with black hair, whose handsome face bore a sinister expression. Next to him stood a woman in a purple dress, her face veiled so that her features were indistinct; only a pair of beautiful eyes was visible, and the skin that showed was translucently pale, the epitome of beauty.

"I’ve already sent the message below," the black-haired man spoke softly, "that man and his female companion, once they appear, my men will take action. If he doesn’t resist, it will simply disqualify him from the competition. But if he dares resist... then it’s a blatant violation of the competition rules, and my uncle, as the Inspector, will naturally have no choice but to intervene. Direct suppression by an A-level powerhouse—no matter how talented, no genius can make waves. Throwing him into the Eternal Night Prison would be considered light."

"There’s really no need to go that far," the woman in purple whispered, "If he doesn’t know what’s good for him, just crippling his hands and feet would suffice. But this man is a minor issue. The real problem lies in the Forbidden Competition Area Number Five, and that man called Ye Xiaowu, he’s the biggest trouble."

"Ye Xiaowu now openly opposes me, and it seems he no longer cares about the consequences. He’s probably gotten wind of some insider information," the man’s face darkened.

One of the black-armored soldiers murmured, "Lord Longque, I heard that the Ye Family has been making lots of secretive moves lately. Maybe they’ve been plotting all along."

"Nonsense! Our Sector 15 of the Temple of the Gods is in such disarray, I can’t even imagine what the higher sectors are like. Have plans? Which household doesn’t? It seems I’ll have to prepare sooner rather than later." Xia Longque’s eyes gleamed.

**************

In Forbidden Competition Area Number Five,

A tall young man strolled along the corridor, followed by a few Silver Armored Guards. The man had a slicked back hairstyle and wore a silver form-fitting combat suit with a wide white cape fluttering behind him, drawing attention.

"Inspector, Lord Longque has sent a message," a Silver Armored Guard said softly.

"What is it?"

"It’s about the new recruits named Feilin and the woman in gold in Sector Seven—they might pose a threat to him. He requests that you handle the situation."

"Since it’s Longque’s request, head directly to Sector Seven," the man replied indifferently.

"Understood, sir."

**************

After waiting a while, the one in golden clothes entered first, then it was Lin Fei’s turn. By then, the Forbidden Competition Area had already been closed off to outsiders except for authorized personnel. Some late arriving Black Armored Guards could only turn away frustratedly, blocked by a transparent glass door.

"Press your epaulet onto the tabletop, and your information will be registered directly," said the bearded man sitting across the table indifferently.

Lin Fei nodded and took out his epaulet, pressing it onto the table.

Beep beep!

Two short sounds in quick succession caused the bearded man’s expression to falter slightly, revealing a trace of surprise.

"Very impressive. To have such a high Medal Value, I should probably address you as Private First Class Feilin now. Keep up the good work."

"Thank you," Lin Fei said with a smile and a nod.

Just as he was about to put away his epaulet, suddenly, a cold glint of light silently stabbed towards him from behind.

It was a tall man standing beside him, wielding a dagger, his eyes shining with a black and red glow as he viciously lunged at Lin Fei.

Clang!

The dagger was harshly deflected, completely ineffective. The man quickly retreated.

At the same time, two burly men stepped forward out of the Black Armored Guards behind the golden-clothed man, one wielding a large hammer and the other aiming a firearm.

"Du Ningsong! What do you think you’re doing!" the bearded man shouted in rage, standing up and pointing at the man with the hammer.

"Die!"

Du Ningsong raised the hammer, its back glowing with a gray-black totem as he smashed it down viciously towards Lin Fei.

The others quickly surrounded the two of them.

"Seeking death!"

Lin Fei’s eyes narrowed sharply as his hand touched the hilt of the Black Demon Sword at his waist in an instant.

"What are you all doing!!?" A stern voice suddenly rang out.

"Who allowed you to fight and cause trouble here!!?" A young man clad in a white cloak strode into the Forbidden Competition Area, his voice stern. "This is a restricted area. Do you want to be disqualified?"

"Inspector!" The bearded man stood up and shouted angrily, "These people–Du Ningsong and his accomplices! They have no regard for the law, openly breaking the rules and attacking competitors! They must be dealt with severely!"

"Indeed!" The Inspector nodded, "I have already seen the whole process. Take these people away!" He gestured with his hand, and several Silver Armored Guards charged forward.

Among the guards that came over, two went straight towards Lin Fei to grab him from both sides.

Lin Fei stepped back just enough to dodge the two men, narrowing his eyes.

"My lord, these people attacked me without warning. I haven’t made any excessive moves. What are you doing?" he asked.

The Inspector waved his hand.

"Private Feilin deliberately violated the competition rules and actively resisted arrest, exhibiting extreme misconduct. By the authority of the Inspector, I am permitting immediate detainment."

Lin Fei’s face darkened, having not anticipated that the rules of the Temple of the Gods could have deteriorated to such an extent.

"Xia Mingtao! Be careful with your words," the bearded man’s eyes darkened menacingly. "Do you know what you’re doing?"

"Ye Xiong, I give you the courtesy of addressing you as Lieutenant Ye," the Inspector spoke impassively, "Do I need reminders from you about my duties?"

"Take him away!"

Two Silver Armored Guards quickly restrained Lin Fei from each side, preventing his escape.

Lin Fei’s mind whirled with numerous thoughts in an instant, yet he found no suitable solution. "Being completely on someone else’s turf... it seems I can only make a temporary exit."

His Extreme Shadow skill, he estimated, wouldn’t offer much chance against an A-level opponent. The only option was to use the Sword Canon Space’s positional teleportation.

Suddenly Lin Fei’s expression shifted.

The Inspector sneered, "Sure enough, a spatial ability. Had Longque not warned me about your spatial teleportation ability, you might have actually escaped. This entire area has been put under a spatial blockade. All fluctuations have been completely isolated."

A massive A-class aura slowly emanated from him, the air seeming to solidify, as fluttering snowflakes gently fell, yet they brought no chill to the touch. They were like wraiths.

Lin Fei’s grip on his sword hilt tightened subtly, his eyes glinting with a faint luminescence.

Boom!

Suddenly, a violent tremor came from outside the room.

The whole room shook, the ceiling lamps swayed incessantly, on the verge of falling.

"Move aside!!!" A cold voice came from the sky outside.

The Inspector and the others rushed out of the room to see a large company of Silver Armored Guards gathered outside, their firearms all aiming at a white figure in the sky.

It was a white-clad young man with a giant machete strapped on his back.

Around him swirled the aura of five B-class fighters. Clearly, the disturbance in the air had been caused by them.

The Inspector’s face darkened, his right hand grasping the air, and a massive longbow, fully formed of Ice Crystal, materialized instantly. A powerful A-class aura locked onto the figure in the sky in an instant.

"Xia Mingtao!" The white-clad young man said coldly from the sky.

"If you dare touch a hair on my head, I guaranteemyour entire family will be dead by tomorrow!" the white-clad youth declared icily. "You, a nobody from District 15, dare to openly violate the competition rules! Ignorant of death!!"

A golden floral emblem appeared and hovered behind him.

Xia Mingtao’s hand faltered, his face tremendously altered. (To be continued. If you enjoy this work, I invite you to come to Qidian to vote for a monthly ticket. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
