True Solution of the Sword Dao -
Chapter 350 - 327: The Beginning of the Battle
Chapter 350: Chapter 327: The Beginning of the Battle
Lin Fei and the others stood quietly to one side, watching Xia Longque pass by with a group of people, heading toward the other side of the grassland.
Lin Fei fully concealed his aura, and Xia Longque didn’t notice him.
"Wasn’t it said that reaching C-rank at the age of 47 is already a rare talent? How can there still be such a disruptive existence?" Nailisha bit her lip tightly, her face showing reluctance.
"They are different."
In the crowd, a red-haired woman spoke indifferently, seemingly talking to herself, and seemingly explaining to Nailisha.
"Lord Xia Longque, his father is one of the five major regional leaders, Lord Xia Yuan. It is said that four hundred years ago Lord Xia Yuan was already an A-rank entity, and now it is unknown to what level he has ascended. They are born as successors, and possess the most pure and strong bloodline, with extremely high talents. Even throughout the entire Inner Domain, among the younger generation, they are the cream of the crop. They sit on countless resources, countless treasures; this is the disparity."
The red-haired woman tossed her long hair, "But seeing him, I also feel relieved. This means our mission this time shouldn’t be too difficult. With Xia Longque’s distinguished identity, it’s impossible that he would come here to seek death."
"What is the name of this sister?" Nailisha smartly began to connect with her. She walked over, cute dimples appearing on her cheeks.
"My name is Yu Hui. You guys are from Cloud City, right? If there’s a chance, let’s work together. Not now, though." Yu Hui turned and disappeared into the crowd within a few steps.
Lin Fei and his group gathered together.
The surroundings were mostly similar to their own small groups, evidently representing various local natured organizations.
These groups mostly ranged from strong to weak in ability, with Lin Fei’s group barely counting as one with decent strength, being a small group where everyone had at least D-rank combat power.
Nailisha volunteered to take the role of the captain; her strength was at the mid D-rank, somewhat stronger than the others who had demonstrated early D-rank strength.
After decisively rejecting several alliance proposals from surrounding groups, Nailisha led a group of five, including Lin Fei in golden armor, out of the crowd.
"The truly powerful groups would not be around the teleportation point. The area there is too small, the density too high; it is simply not suitable for organizing strength. And most of them have insider information, having squeezed out early, completely not needing to heed the dragon knight’s cautions and reminders. If we want to accumulate combat achievements, we could join such groups, but since we have no direct intent to join the battle, there is no need to join any groups. We just need to linger in the safe zone for ten days."
Nailisha explained.
Jin Yi transmitted his voice directly to Lin Fei.
"Sir, do we continue to follow them?"
"Let’s follow them for a while and see how things go. We can leave after getting familiar," Lin Fei transmitted back. After all, they weren’t inhabitants of the Inner World for long and didn’t understand many things, so they needed to pay attention to the situation first.

Outer World
"Lin You, there’s news about the Metal Scepter Contractor."
Inside Merrill’s rental place, a group of people sat together.
Merrill spoke seriously, "The funds from your brother arrived just in time. I was able to use that money to buy some intelligence on the Metal Scepter."
She gently placed several small printed documents on the table.
Those around the table each picked up a document to read.
Lin You was startled upon seeing the first page.
"The Metal Scepter, it’s actually..."
The others also showed astounded expressions.
"You’re not seeing things," Merrill said calmly. "The German Revival Party and the United States research institutions secretly captured Metal Energy Scepter fusers and Contractors twenty years ago. For all these years, the two organizations have been continuously extracting samples from both fusers and Contractors for secret experiments. If it weren’t for a chance occurrence, this intelligence wouldn’t have leaked out."
In the hands of Cheng Guang and the others, a cylindrical glass container filled with pale green liquid showed a naked man curled up and tightly holding a giant python. Both the man and the snake were submerged in the liquid, their eyes closed, motionless, as if they were specimens.
"We need to plan carefully now on how to rescue the Metal Scepter fuser and Contractor," Merrill said gravely.
"It’s troublesome; we have to face two massive world organizations. Their strength and power might not be top level, but they are only slightly weaker than forces like the Tower of the Dark Night and the Tower of Glory. With our current strength... we cannot overpower them."
"Lin You, what about your strength? Any improvement from the training?" Chris suddenly asked, his hand clutching Babanoya.
"A little, but it’s not very significant," Lin You honestly replied.
Cheng Guang felt a chill in his heart.
In such a short time, his strength had still improved; other ability users entering D-rank normally measured their progress by years to increase their strength, yet she managed to improve despite the lack of resources...
"Then you focus on your training. We must immediately contact Antos and gather all the strength we can muster," Merrill decided. "I’ve already made contact with the Scepter Family. Also, there’s another person—Chris, your sister has arrived." Her face also darkened slightly.
Chris, sitting on the side, suddenly turned pale. His fists clenched tightly, his fingertips nearly piercing his palms.

Two days later
Inner World, The Plains of Despair
The sky was a clear blue, with the giant star Laman and the sun shining upon each other. Layers of ripples rose continuously on the green grassland. The soft sound of the wind and the murmurings echoed across the entire plain.
Across the vast grassland, there were areas of small mounds, and behind one of the mounds was a small camp enclosed by six camouflage tents. There was also a black pile of ashes in the center of the camp, obviously left after burning.
Two people were sitting by the ashes.
One was a man with long hair, a swirl of curls hanging down the side of his face, exuding an artistic temperament, while the other was a lazy-looking, voluptuous woman. Dressed in a simple T-shirt and jeans, her enticing body curves were perfectly outlined. Every movement she made seemed to have the power to captivate.
"Lin Qishan, aren’t you going to rest?" the woman yawned and said, "Aren’t you tired from keeping watch all night?"
Lin Qishan glanced at the woman and said indifferently, "Not tired."
Tents were consecutively lifted open, giving passage to several individuals: a beautiful blonde woman, a woman with black hair reaching her shoulders, and a man of delicate and somewhat androgynous features—it was Lin Fei.
"The main force left us, and we’ve been walking toward the outer regions for a day now," said the blonde woman. "The Desolate Plains are terrifyingly vast; it wouldn’t matter if tens of thousands of us were transported here—even hundreds of thousands could vanish without a trace."
"Nailisha, are you familiar with this place?" Lin Fei asked.
"Not exactly," Nailisha explained. "My grandfather had a collection of related texts, and I’ve read about it in one of them. By the way, shall we keep watch together tonight? I could take the opportunity to explain more about this stuff to you~~ What do you think?" She teasingly winked at Lin Fei.
A flicker of something subtle passed through Lin Qishan’s eyes.
"We’ll see," Lin Fei said indifferently.
Suddenly, a faint sound of explosions came from the distant sky.
Zhou Sixue was the first to stand up, her expression serious.
"There’s a fight nearby!"
"Let’s go take a look!" Nailisha made a swift decision and was the first to walk in the direction of the noise.
The others quickly followed suit.
They carefully climbed to the top of a hillock and looked toward the distance.
On the slope of a nearby hillock, two groups were engaged in a fierce battle.
From afar one could see four or five bodies already lying on the ground. Nine others were still fighting—two were ganging up against one, while the rest were in one-on-one combat. One side was dressed in black uniforms, like Lin Fei and the others, whereas the opposing side was in red uniforms.
"They’re all high-level D-rank fighters..." Nailisha said gravely.
Not far off, faint totemic phantoms surfaced behind each person, with a few accompanied by tangible totemic beasts aiding in the attack. Explosions set off here and there, blasting large and small craters in the grassland.
"Should we help?" Chen Fengnan asked quietly.
Nailisha shook her head. "Wait. Let’s see how things play out first."
Lin Fei frowned; although Nailisha’s approach was beyond reproach, it was incredibly time-consuming.
But then an enormous change occurred.
The red-clad group gained rapid momentum as one of them exerted strength, a crimson ring flaring around them in an instant. The fighters in black cried out in shock and rage as they were repulsed by the blow.
In that moment of confusion,
The black-clad fighters who were assaulting a single person were pinned to the ground with throwing knives lodged in their foreheads, their cries of pain echoing as they collapsed backward— their totems dissipating simultaneously.
The tide of the battle had abruptly turned.
"HAHAHAHA!!!" The previously besieged fighter burst into manic laughter, yelling an unintelligible phrase as the other soldiers in red hastened their assault, and the black-clad fighters started panicking.
"Let’s go!"
Nailisha’s complexion shifted, "He’s a D-rank at the peak!"
Everyone’s expressions changed; within the ranks, each level signified an absolute disparity, and although there were means to augment combat power and fight above one’s level, they were not possessed by any of those present.
"You all go ahead; I’ll observe a bit longer and then catch up quickly," Lin Fei suddenly said. "I’m very fast. Don’t worry about me."
Nailisha glanced at the nearly concluded battle, bit her lip, and said, "Don’t push yourself."
"Of course." Lin Fei flashed a sign to the figure in gold, who nodded slightly.
After Nailisha cast a deep look at Lin Fei, she quickly led the way to leave.
Zhou Sixue and the figure in gold were the last to depart. Once the rest had disappeared into the grasslands, out of sight, Lin Fei turned and quietly stood on top of the hillock, watching the group in red armor approaching.
His right hand gently touched his waist, and the Black Demon Sword slowly emerged. Everything seemed to fall silent, save for the light whisper of the wind in his ears.
Hiss!!
A surge of dark energy roared out, transforming into a massive ghastly face. The ghostly visage cackled wildly, emitting a piercing shriek as it fiercely charged at the red-armored group.
It instantly swept past all of them.
The faces of the soldiers in red armor instantly froze; they had virtually no time to react before the ghastly face brushed past them, leaving their bodies hollow like shells devoid of souls. They collapsed to the ground, one after another.
It soon became quiet. The ghostly face, still chuckling, swooped back into the Black Demon Sword in Lin Fei’s hand. The blade itself faintly glimmered as if nourished.
With a flick of the sword, Lin Fei sheathed the Longsword slowly.
His figure vanished in an instant, and when he reappeared, he was carrying several epaulets and some small pouches, which he carefully stored away.
He looked at the Black Demon Sword in his hand. Since it had been broken by the Sword of the Void and then barely mended, its power seemed far diminished from before, lacking the potency of its previous strikes—its effect just now was merely at that level.
Suddenly, he looked up towards the distance.
There, a purple silhouette was quietly observing his direction. It was a veiled woman in purple, her aura elusive, akin to Xia Longque.
Lin Fei regarded her deeply for a moment, offered a slight smile, turned, and his figure gradually faded away.
