True Solution of the Sword Dao -
Chapter 303 - 287 Once Upon a Time 1
Chapter 303: Chapter 287 Once Upon a Time 1
Lin Fei’s corpse instantly transformed into countless points of light, dissipating into the air.
But the next moment, Lin Fei’s figure once again condensed opposite Ren Yue. It was the very Lin Fei who had just died.
"How about that?" Lin Fei asked with a smile.
Ren Yue’s temples were drenched with sweat. After a long while, she said hoarsely, "So, all of Sect Master’s speculations were true...."
"WARNING!! WARNING!! Instability detected in the Sword Dao mark, initiate mark eradication?"
The indifferent and icy voice of the Sword Canon suddenly rang out.
"No!" Lin Fei smiled as he looked at Ren Yue.
"Sword Master refuses eradication; alternative plan activated. Millennium Sword Dao is designated as the second-tier sect. All members are automatically included in the resurrection lineup. Resurrection is at Sword Master’s discretion," the voice of the Sword Canon sounded again.
Ren Yue gave Lin Fei a deep look.
"I will report everything here truthfully to the Sect Master."
"That’s also my hope," Lin Fei calmly watched as Ren Yue gradually dissipated into countless black points. "Looking forward to our next meeting," he said softly.
"WARNING! WARNING! Unknown changes detected in Sword Master’s progress, deviation from original plan imminent," the continuous warnings sounded inside the Sword Canon.
"Just as I expected," Lin Fei stood silently on a chaotic lawn. "High-level Sword Dao artists’ marks, the suppression by the Sword Canon isn’t that strong. Perhaps it’s a loophole left by previous Sword Masters, or maybe the Sword Canon, due to its long period of drifting and wandering, has developed such a flaw. I was curious before, how Ren Yue could still sense her sister’s death while under the mark’s influence. Clearly, for her, time within the mark continues to flow."
Lin Fei was actually gambling; he had never been clear on how powerful the Sword Canon was. However, able to contain and control nearly countless Sword Dao marks, its power was obviously far beyond his imagination. What use would finding out the truth by a mere Millennium Sword Dao be? The Sword Canon surely had ways to control it. If he could gain the support of many powerful artists within it, it would be akin to instantly gaining a group of immensely strong and unknown forces to assist him. His own power and influence would also be able to progress faster. With guidance from more powerful Swordsmen far surpassing his own, his future path would definitely far exceed his current slow exploration.
Even just Ren Ling and Ren Yue, who were Outer Sect Affairs Managers, had the strength of Peak B-level, what about higher levels? Or even the strongest, the Sect Master? He couldn’t imagine how strong they could be! Perhaps, if truly resurrecting someone of the Sect Master’s caliber, the entire world would tremble.
"The instability of the Millennium Sword Dao mark just freely gifted me a set of resurrection slots. The question now is, how can these strong artists truly assist me. Perhaps cooperation is a better method after all," Lin Fei resolved in his mind.
"Sword Canon, does the Millennium Sword Dao mark have the capability to break the bindings of the Sword Canon Space?"
"No," answered the Sword Canon indifferently.
"As I thought," Lin Fei sighed in relief inwardly, "As long as the Sword Canon still has the ability to bind these strong ones, I still have the capital to negotiate and cooperate with them."
"Due to deviation from the original plan, the cost of reviving the second-tier sect has increased," the prompt sounds of the Sword Canon followed one after the other.
Lin Fei stood within the space as if he heard nothing.
"There are gains, there are bound to be sacrifices. That’s only natural."
With a thought,
Lin Fei directly exited the Sword Canon Space. He was still in his own bedroom at home.
The light of the afternoon had already grown dim. Another day had passed like this.
Through the window, he could see people who went out for an afternoon walk, slowly strolling down the road in groups of two or three.
Lin Fei sat quietly at his writing desk, silent for a moment. Then he picked up his phone and called Lu Jun.
"How’s the situation?"
"We have Xu Ruoruo and others here; it has been relatively calm," Lu Jun’s voice sounded relaxed. "Preparations are progressing. Do you want to come and inspect?"
"No need, just focus on those few people; the rest doesn’t matter."
"You must know that words hurt," Lu Jun chuckled, "even though that’s also true."
"Alright, then. I’ll stop by the company tomorrow."
"Okay," Lu Jun responded.
After hanging up, Lin Fei thought for a moment, then sent a text to Sis, but received no response; he wasn’t sure whether it went unnoticed or something else. According to previous habits, as soon as Lin Fei sent a message, there would be an immediate reply from that end. The eagerness was almost unnerving. But this time it seemed a bit slow.
Then there was the Dream Eater, the Red Hand. Of all Dream Eaters, only the Red Hand and Xiuya were completely under Lin Fei’s control, as both of them were special cases of fully integrating with True Force seeds, having a very high degree of fusion. Naturally, their life and death were at Lin Fei’s decision. Xiuya was of the type who never used a phone. Lin Fei did not force him, merely letting him act freely, without any interference. Now, the Red Hand was on his way back, and could be counted as a second-tier force among the Sword Canon strength, available for free use.
This meant Lin Fei currently had four B-level strong individuals at his disposal, not just any common B-level entrants, plus with Xiuya, making five in total.
Unknowingly, Lin Fei suddenly realized he was now comparable to Hua Nation from just a while ago, with Five Stars, five B-level strong individuals. And he hadn’t even factored in the forces Xiuya could mobilize from the Forest of the Sky.
However, as regrettable as it was, this power might be effective against a weak Hua Nation, but against the powerful Holy See....
To date, Lin Fei had not fully figured out how many Knight Orders there were in the Holy See, or the strength of each Knight Order. Lin Fei had no doubts that the Holy See had powers beyond these Knight Orders.
"Relying on friends like Sis for gathering intelligence probably won’t uncover anything. It seems I have to send someone myself," Lin Fei decided.
Although unsure how Lin You had established connections with the Holy See, understanding the capabilities of potential enemies early could prepare him for any dangers.
"Once things here are settled, I’ll make a trip to Europe," Lin Fei planned.
Suddenly, a series of knocks sounded.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Lin Fei!! Open the door! I forgot my keys!" Lin You’s voice called from outside.
Without a word, Lin Fei shook his head, walked out of the bedroom, and went to the living room to open the door.
Lin You was dressed in a black T-shirt and mini-skirt, hands on hips, standing outside the door. But she was not alone outside; there were also two women he did not recognize.
A person with golden long hair that draped over their shoulders possessed a strikingly beautiful countenance with features that hinted at mixed heritage, all clad in a tight black tracksuit.
Another with black hair maintained a calm expression and an icy demeanor, dressed in what seemed like a cosplay outfit, but the blue eyes revealed they were not from Hua Nation.
"May I ask who you are?" Lin Fei looked at the two with a puzzled expression.
Lin You, however, couldn’t hide her impatience and barged into the living room. A little black cat followed at her feet and darted in as well.
"They are my friends, don’t worry about it so much!"
"My name is Cheng Guang, and this is Chris, we are You’s friends and live nearby," Cheng Guang politely responded.
"Since you are You’s friends, please come in," Lin Fei said, smiling and stepping aside to open the door wider.
The two came in and closed the security door behind them.
"You are You’s brother, right?" Cheng Guang asked.
"Yes. Given your appearance, you must not be from Hua Nation?" Lin Fei said, fetching some fruit candies from the kitchen and placing them on the coffee table. "Please help yourself."
"Thank you," each of them took a small candy.
"I am an American. Cheng Guang is the phonetic translation of my English name, and Chris is European. I’m not entirely sure about the specifics," Cheng Guang answered politely.
After chatting on the sofa for a while, Lin Fei found an excuse to get up and leave.
Lin You, who had been waiting on the side, was already growing impatient.
Once Lin Fei had left, she immediately asked in a low voice.
"See? I told you, with my brother at home the atmosphere is definitely tense. It’s like a tripartite meeting. You just wouldn’t believe me!"
"Your brother seems nice though," Cheng Guang mentally categorized Lin Fei as an ordinary, exceptional college student.
Chris sat silently on the sofa, just nodding slightly to express agreement.
"Nice? How is he nice?" Lin You began to argue stubbornly. "Okay, okay, let’s talk about how we’ll handle things soon. We need to find an excuse to go out. Otherwise, being gone for so long, mom and dad definitely won’t be happy."
"How about saying we’re going on a trip? With classmates?" Feil was the first to suggest.
"No! We’ve used that too many times already," Lin You said, shaking her head to dismiss the idea.
"How about going to a summer or winter camp?" Cheng Guang suggested.
"That’s a possibility," Lin You slowly nodded.
"How about we invite you to come stay at our place?" Feil suggested another idea.
"That’s not bad," Lin You’s eyes lit up. "But I’ve never been abroad before. I hear it’s quite troublesome, needing visas and all... Will it be hard to arrange?" she immediately began to worry.
"No problem there. Let me handle it," a voice suddenly interjected.
Lin Fei came over with a smile, carrying a tray with four cups of hot tea and setting them down.
"Visas and passports are no issue."
Lin You stared at him, feeling a deep sense of frustration every time she saw Lin Fei, which uncontrollably made her want to oppose him. It had almost become a habit since they were little.
Chris and Cheng Guang looked puzzled at Lin You.
"My brother knows a bit about my circumstances," Lin You confirmed with a nod.
Lin Fei watched Lin You’s smug look silently. Clearly, this was the only way she seemed to regain some self-esteem...
"I can help cover up lies, and I can handle these troublesome procedures, but I have one condition," Lin Fei said, raising one finger and smiling.
"What condition?" Lin You looked at him warily.
"I want to come with you."
"No!"
Cheng Guang quickly covered her mouth. "I’m sorry, that was rude."
"No!" Lin You shook her head as well.
"Why not?"
"It’s dangerous!" Lin You frowned. "We won’t have that much time to protect you."
"What? Are you guys that dangerous?" Lin Fei’s expression darkened.
"No, no, no!" Lin You quickly covered her mouth, "I mean, what if you encounter danger? The people we come in contact with aren’t ordinary."
"You, are you keeping something from me?" Lin Fei stared directly at Lin You, who evasively looked away.
Lin You had only told Lin Fei that she was a Psychic, but she had not told him about the complications that followed, or the situation she was currently facing. Now almost slipping up, she felt a surge of panic.
"In that case, I need to go with you even more," Lin Fei stated firmly. "Didn’t you say you could handle three to five thugs easily?"
Lin You chuckled nervously.
