True Solution of the Sword Dao -
Chapter 250 - 238 Influence 2
Chapter 250: Chapter 238 Influence 2
"Although I lost, I at least reached the B-level." Lin Fei chose to exit the space and returned to the grove.
After removing the deception of the Power of the Divine Artifact, Lin Fei walked leisurely along the forest path. Having just finished the battle, taking a quiet walk like this was a way to relax and adjust.
This forest path, underfoot were gray-white concrete slabs, on either side high bushes, occasionally some unknown animals rustled the bushes by the path.
Along the way, Lin Fei did encounter several couples who seemed to have come here for a stroll. The quiet atmosphere here was clearly favored by these couples.
While walking, Lin Fei was thinking about Lin You’s matter.
In her previous life, during her college years, that must have been Lin You’s rapid development period. Although she couldn’t pinpoint exactly which period, during this time, Lin You had undergone significant changes. In the past life, every time she went home, she could sense Lin You’s astonishing changes. It seemed every semester she did not see her, each time she did, she found her more mature.
"This period must be a critical time," Lin Fei murmured. "We definitely need to adopt a special approach now."
Following the path, it led out of the woods right to the male dormitory area. This small forest was originally behind the male dormitory.
Perhaps because it was a weekend, the dorms were not as crowded as usual. Only a few girls who could occasionally be seen, were now frequently sighted.
Just as she walked into the dormitory building, at the lobby on the first floor.
Lin Fei just saw Ouyang Dong and a brown-haired girl registering at the counter. Generally, bringing girls into the male dorm required registration.
The girl next to Ouyang Dong was no other than his sister, Ouyang Ying.
The two saw Lin Fei coming in, and their expressions turned ugly.
Lin Fei noticed that Ouyang Ying seemed to have some swelling on her face, apparently from being hit. She suddenly understood more about Yaofei’s network of influence.
"From the time the incident happened until now, it hasn’t been over three hours. It seems my disciple’s influence in Capital City is indeed strong," Lin Fei assessed internally.
Although she had called Yaofei and hadn’t mentioned this incident, the information right in front of him was clear, and if Yaofei still didn’t know to check it out, that would be too stupid. Hence, Lin Fei anticipated that Yaofei would take action, but she hadn’t expected him to move so swiftly.
"Oh, it’s Lin Fei," Ouyang Ying approached with her right cheek covered, all smiles. "My younger brother was ignorant before and caused you some trouble."
Ouyang Dong, however, kept his head down, remaining silent. He clearly hadn’t calmed down from earlier anger but seemed to have come over under some sort of pressure.
On the contrary, Ouyang Ying seemed as if nothing significant had happened at all. She was all smiles.
Lin Fei didn’t bother to hold a grudge against these two.
"It’s nothing, just a minor issue. Did you need something else?"
"Nothing," Ouyang Ying’s smile was natural, showing no strain. "It’s just that this incident caused some tension between you and Dongdong. We all share a dorm room, there’s no need for such tension, right? For this, I apologize on behalf of my brother."
"A minor issue," Lin Fei smiled. "But your brother really should change his temper. It’s only because we’re in school that it didn’t lead to bigger troubles. If it were in society, he might end up disabled."
"You’re right. I will definitely make my brother change," Ouyang Ying’s smile stalled for a moment before she resumed.
"This time you’re lucky it was just me. People say I’m too kind-hearted. If it were someone else, it wouldn’t have been resolved so easily," Lin Fei said with a smile.
"Indeed," Ouyang Ying felt her facial muscles nearly cramping from smiling. The rage inside was at its peak. But thinking of Liu Bin, she had to suppress her displeasure and make her voice sweeter.
"Actually, I came here for this matter. Dongdong and I booked a table at the Lion King Restaurant to let our dorm room have a good gathering. Consider it a distraction, I wonder if you could do us the honor." Ouyang Ying felt just like those women who are humiliated yet have to plead with a smile. The rage inside her was almost unbearable.
She got slapped, her brother got beaten, yet here she was, running over to offer herself for humiliation. Ouyang Ying felt she had never been more humiliated in her life.
Lin Fei understood that when they say they invited everyone in the dorm, they actually meant only him. But he didn’t have time to waste on these two.
"That won’t be necessary, it’s just a minor thing. You can go."
Ouyang Ying’s expression changed slightly, but she still humbly said, "Lin Fei, I admit that my brother and I really wronged you before. We came here sincerely to apologize."
"I really have pressing matters, I don’t have time," Lin Fei frowned slightly, "Why don’t you join Shi Ran and the others, and let him deal with my share with Du Xiaosheng?"
"Lin Fei, we really know we were wrong this time," Ouyang Ying’s smile began to falter.
"That’s good, I forgive you," Lin Fei said impatiently. Back when he was in Ping City, it was the same. If he had to attend every meal invitation, he would have at least seven or eight meals per day. How would he have time for anything else?
Turning around, Lin Fei headed straight for the staircase.
"Lin Fei!" Ouyang Ying suddenly shouted loudly, her voice tinged with a sob.
Lin Fei paused, slowly turning back around.
Standing on the staircase, he calmly watched Ouyang siblings in the middle of the first-floor lobby.
Ouyang Ying couldn’t hold back any longer, tears immediately slid from her eyes.
"Please!" Ouyang Ying’s tears streamed nonstop. She pleaded as she looked at Lin Fei.
"Sis!!" Ouyang Dong roared, gripping his sister’s hand tightly, his chest heaving violently, clearly also suppressing his emotions.
In the first-floor corridors, some dorm students who were alerted by the noise also came out to watch the spectacle. Students who were about to go upstairs or downstairs also slowed their pace, their gazes focusing on the three people below.
Lin Fei frowned slightly, as the situation was clearly different from what he had anticipated. His sincere display of a forgiving attitude seemed extremely important to the Ouyang siblings. Otherwise, given Ouyang Ying’s previously arrogant nature, she wouldn’t have gone to this extent. Only when pushed to the brink would someone lower their pride and dignity to such a level.
"The Lion King Restaurant this afternoon, right?"
"Yes!" Ouyang Ying nodded vigorously. "At five o’clock sharp." She finally broke into a smile and hurriedly wiped the tears from her face.
Lin Fei nodded, turned around, and went upstairs.
However, his perception of Yaofei’s influence had risen to a new level. Being able to push someone to this extent clearly indicated that his power was extraordinarily vast.
When he returned to his second-floor bedroom, Du Xiaosheng was not there, but Shi Ran was standing at the door, obviously about to head out. Seeing Lin Fei, he quickly smiled. "Back already?"
"Ouyang Dong’s sister wants to treat you to a meal, did you know?" Shi Ran asked.
"I know," Lin Fei nodded. "You guys should come too. Lion King Restaurant at five o’clock."
"Oh, I guess I’m basking in your glory," Shi Ran joked, then added, "I’m heading out now."
After the door had closed and locked automatically, Lin Fei was left alone in the room.
He took out his mobile phone and dialed Shuang’er’s number. He had bought her a new phone when he changed his own a while back to keep in touch more conveniently.
"Shuang’er, are you getting accustomed to life in Tianjing?" Lin Fei gently asked.
"It’s alright," Shuang’er’s voice was always soft and mushy, which sounded very soothing. "Just that I still haven’t found the right person yet."
"No rush, take your time," Lin Fei said softly.
"I will speed things up," Shuang’er stated firmly. "Then, see you, brother."
"Yeah."
The call on the other end hung up.
Lin Fei originally hadn’t planned to let Shuang’er handle this matter. But she insisted on going. He could only let her have her way. Now, Shuang’er, having absorbed the Power of the Divine Artifact, had her abilities skyrocketed to the mid-C level, making her quite a capable assistant. Without the Power of the Divine Artifact, she would still be at the peak of D level. But such strength was sufficient.

Tianjing City
Next to the train station plaza, a little girl with a pink cross-body bag sat on a small plastic stool, which was a cheap kind, colored yellow-green. This little girl, delicately pretty, was Shuang’er, who had just finished her phone call. She was now dressed in a white dress and pink sandals, her cute little toes peeking out, pink and tender.
A little girl sitting quietly on a stool, just like a primary school student in a classroom, and being very cute, naturally attracted many passersby’s attention.
Shuang’er was focused on her mobile phone when suddenly a series of footsteps approached in front of her. A tall shadow appeared before her.
A middle-aged man, overweight, was holding a round lollipop and smiling at her.
Shuang’er looked up at him. The man looked back at her gently.
"Little sister," he crouched down. "Why are you playing here alone? Where are your mom and dad?"
Shuang’er looked down, completely ignoring him.
"Uh," the man’s smile stiffened a bit. "Would you like something tasty? Uncle can buy it for you?" He shook the lollipop in his hand.
Shuang’er continued pressing on her phone.
"Little sister~~~" the man was not yet deterred.
"If there’s nothing you need, you can go now!" Shuang’er said calmly.
"Uh..." the man wiped the sweat from his brow, hesitating. "Little sister, were you just speaking?"
Shuang’er suddenly looked up.
"Do you have money?"
"Yes! Yes!" the man immediately brightened. "Uncle has a lot of money. I can buy you lots of tasty things." He exaggeratedly gestured as if embracing something big.
"Then let’s go," Shuang’er hopped off the stool. She followed the man toward a secluded area of the train station.
There was a dark alley there; from the outside, you couldn’t see anything inside.
The two walked one after the other into it.
Five minutes later...
Shuang’er, thoroughly counting money, slowly made her way back out.
"Hmph, still not as much as the old man yesterday. I’ve got today’s activity funds secured now." (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to visit Qidian (qidian.com) to cast your recommendation votes and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
