True Solution of the Sword Dao -
Chapter 230 - 220 Peace 2
Chapter 230: Chapter 220 Peace 2
A surge of information suddenly flowed from the Divine Artifact into Lin Fei’s mind, but just as it was about to enter his memory, it was directly blocked by the Sword Dao True Solution.
Lin Fei actively extended his consciousness and touched the bundle of information. It was all about the Divine Artifact’s data and several of its functions.
"As expected." After a brief search, Lin Fei discovered one of the Divine Artifact’s functions.
"When lies reach the ultimate degree, they become the truth," recorded among the functions, the Power of True Lies could be used on a large scale to deceive the body’s instincts, fooling various parts of the body. If one was injured, the Power of True Lies would make the body think it wasn’t injured and continue to function normally, and if there was bleeding, it would make the red blood cells believe the vessels had not ruptured, forcibly continuing forward through their original pathway. Completely ignoring the leaking air pressure.
It was the same if the skin was damaged.
"To say it’s deceiving living things is an understatement, it’s more like deceiving everything, including the laws of nature," Lin Fei immediately realized the significance behind this function. "Worthy of being the Supreme Divine Artifact of the Dream Eater. However, this kind of deception is limited in time, and afterward, one still needs to recuperate on their own."
Countless golden threads pervaded his body. Lin Fei’s body instantly reverted to its normal state. But this was only temporary, the enhancement of the Divine Artifact also had its limits. The duration was five days. Moreover, such an enhancement overdrew on the subsequent state as the price. In addition, for a Dream Eater, this was like a lighthouse in the night, incredibly conspicuous. It could not be concealed at all. The risk factor was also very high.
Lin Fei also felt that since he was not a Dream Eater, it seemed many abilities of the Divine Artifact could not fully manifest their effects.
He slowly stood up, and his body seemed suddenly free to move.
"Even accounting for the state of overdraft later, I can’t worry about that now." He felt that, despite being severely injured all over, he could still move freely as if his body was exactly the same as usual.
"No wonder Wu Yanqing was confident enough to stop all of us on his own. With the Divine Artifact on him, and being a Dream Eater, he’s practically immortal. It’s still unknown what other strengths he could unleash." Lin Fei moved his wrists. There was no difference from usual.
Shuang’er watched in a daze as Lin Fei suddenly stood up.
"Brother... are you alright?"
"No, I’ve just temporarily recovered a bit. Let’s head back first," Lin Fei managed to muster a bit of Blue Flame, wrapping the Divine Artifact in his hand and directly sending it into the white Trial Space.

BOOM!!!!
In a secluded canyon in Germany.
A massive explosion instantly erupted from within the canyon.
In front of a mirror-like small pond, two figures in black cloaks stood at the edge.
"It failed, the Divine Artifact has been concealed by someone. Tell the Wu Family that we have no way of detecting the exact location of the artifact holder," a taller cloaked figure said lightly, speaking in very pure German, with a male voice.
"Understood." The other cloak instantaneously disintegrated into a myriad of black ashes and scattered.

The following noon
September 11th, 2005
Yan Capital University South Campus, Building Four.
In a classroom on the Third Layer.
Cheng Nianwei stood in front of the podium, surrounded by a large pile of burlap sacks. The unsealed openings revealed that they contained military training gear.
Cheng Nianwei stood before a blackboard that read: Physics Theoretical Physics Major Class 05 Meeting. The chalk writing was neat, and although not excellent, it was fairly good.
Inside the large lecture hall below, sat a precise count of just over fifty students.
"Please come up to get a set of military training uniforms when your name is called," Cheng Nianwei glanced over the students below.
"Cheng Zhiming."
A plump boy left his seat and went up, where a fellow student handed him a set of military training garb with an extra-large label.
"Zhao Yang."
"Yue Xiaohuan."
Students went up one after another to collect their clothes.
"Lin Fei."
By the window, a tall and handsome boy stood up. He wore a black and white striped shirt with fitted jeans and slightly ear-length tousled hair, strikingly eye-catching. The only flaw was his somewhat pale complexion. No doubt, as the most good-looking boy, he drew many sidelong glances from the female students. Lin Fei’s every move attracted much attention.
After receiving his clothes, Lin Fei turned to return to his original spot.
"Lin Fei," Cheng Nianwei suddenly called out to him.
"What is it?" he turned slightly.
"You don’t look so good. Are you feeling unwell? If you’re not feeling well, you can ask for leave from the teacher," Cheng Nianwei said kindly.
"Thank you, but there’s no need," Lin Fei replied politely and, with a courteous demeanor, returned to his seat. He slightly turned his face to look out the window.
In a corner of the playground below the teaching building, some members of the roller-skating club were setting up yellow cones on the ground and then skating back and forth around them, hands behind their backs.
The sunlight shone on the white playground, reflecting a somewhat dazzling brightness.
"Lin Fei, are you going to the library later? I’m going to borrow a book," Du Xiaosheng whispered, leaning over from the next seat.
"I’ll go too. Du Xiaosheng, let’s go together later," a skinny, tall, bespectacled male student in the front turned around and said. "I’m going to borrow books on advanced mathematics and general physics to preview them."
"Sure," Du Xiaosheng quickly replied.
Lin Fei smiled: "Then let’s go together. I’m also planning to borrow a book."
Generally, those who choose theoretical physics are often the more studious type from high school. After all, the only good career path after graduating from such a major is to join a research organization or to take up a position within the school. That’s why many people in the class, just a few days in, are starting to prepare by previewing the courses in advance.
Once the dorms were settled, the daily routine for Du Xiaosheng and his dormmates was to wake up around seven or eight in the morning, study for a while, then head to the canteen for lunch, take a stroll around the school to get familiar with the surroundings in the afternoon, and occasionally go out for dinner and fun in the evening to get to know their classmates better.
This kind of life was very ordinary and uneventful.
Other than the dormmates they shared a room with or those in nearby rooms who they got to know better, and then Cheng Nianwei and a few others from her dorm, there were not many others they were familiar with. It was completely different from high school. There were no mandatory ten-minute breaks between classes that had to be attended every day. There were no other channels for students to become more familiar with each other. They all seemed estranged and distant.
After collecting their uniforms, everyone in the class left with their own dormmates.
Du Xiaosheng, dragging a somewhat reluctant Shi Ran, along with the previously mentioned male student and Lin Fei, left the classroom together.
The entire teaching building had a structure with a courtyard in the middle. Standing in front of the classroom allowed one to see the situation in the other three sections. Many classrooms had only a few people coming and going, but most were quiet and empty.
"Lin Fei, are you also going to borrow books on advanced mathematics or something?" Shi Ran asked. "Why don’t you join me in the magazine area instead? Isn’t it tiring to start studying so early?"
"It’s okay. I’ll go check it out first, I’m not necessarily going to borrow any specific book," Lin Fei said with a smile. With his memory and comprehension abilities, he planned to sit in the library and read, to memorize the key contents of some textbooks at a glance; it was clearly unrealistic to just spend his valuable time now just on basic courses.
"Fan Weidong, why are you borrowing general physics? Are we going to study that in our freshman year?" The four were walking down the staircase when Du Xiaosheng asked the bespectacled male student from another dorm.
"I don’t know, but we are majoring in theoretical physics, we should study it, right?" Fan Weidong answered hesitantly.
"I asked a senior, and she said in our freshman year we’ll be studying advanced mathematics, linear algebra, mechanics, computer culture basics, electromagnetism, optics, and program design. No general physics," Shi Ran said, cutting in.
"We’re going to study just those?" Fan Weidong was surprised.
"What else did you expect?"
"I thought it’s about doing physics research or something..." Fan Weidong said helplessly.
"That depends on what level you are," Shi Ran said. "You have to be at a high level to apply for the research institutes. Although I heard those research positions are very limited."
"Then what other places would need our major?" Fan Weidong seemed confused.
"Hua Nation’s Academy of Sciences Physics Research Institute, and some universities have physics research institutes. Our school has one too. But the competition is fierce. The majority of us are likely to end up in teaching or research positions. That includes being a teacher at universities or high schools," Shi Ran explained.
Then he added, "Anyway, I’m just here to get by. Once I have my bachelor’s degree, I’m outta here."
"Really? That’s bleak!" Fan Weidong looked a bit distressed.
"It’s alright, this is what academic majors are like. In fact, many students choose this major without the intention of going into research," Shi Ran said frankly. "I just have a bit of interest in physics. I just carelessly chose a major."
Du Xiaosheng also nodded, "I’m aiming to stay on campus, if I can, to be a university teacher."
"You guys are thinking too far ahead. We’re only freshmen..." Fan Weidong said hesitantly.
"What about you, Lin Fei? What are you planning to do? Choosing this major leaves only a few paths," Shi Ran asked Lin Fei, who had been silent so far.
"Me? I don’t have any plans," Lin Fei said with a smile. He obviously couldn’t say that he chose this major for energy physics research and planned to pursue a Ph.D. for a research career... Saying that now would be laughable.
Although it would be an easy task to obtain a Ph.D. with his current intellect.
As for pseudo True Force, he planned to study the principle and structure of this energy himself, practicing swordsmanship, a way of cultivating Essence Qi for future reserve. This allowed him to have plenty of spare time to accumulate spiritual energy. That way, he could unleash the strongest power instantaneously when needed.
The Sword Dao True Solution was a typical representation of such swordsmanship theory. Although now was still the time for laying the foundation, without revealing the ultimate Sword Techniques recorded within, these spare moments also provided the opportunity for other plans.
"By the way, those two people who went to find you at the Lion King Hotel that day, who were they? They seemed a bit odd," Shi Ran suddenly asked.
"Just friends. They heard I was in Capital City and came to find me. I didn’t expect to run into them there either," Lin Fei answered, now fluent in telling lies.
"Is that so?" Shi Ran still felt that the two people’s demeanor was somewhat familiar, as if he had seen a similar presence somewhere before. (To be continued.
