True Solution of the Sword Dao
Chapter 225 - 215 Final Battle I

Chapter 225: Chapter 215 Final Battle I

Lin Fei never underestimated his opponents. But he didn’t overestimate them either.

The top combat power in the Dream Eater World, he had already made an assessment, was roughly around B-level. The previous clone of Wu Haiyi had peak C-level strength, which was already capable of resisting the top-tier Dream Eaters of the older generation like Crimson Hand. Without a doubt, Crimson Hand was a B-level powerhouse who had once stood at the top of the food chain, but regrettably, due to his lifespan reaching its limit and the severe injury he had suffered before not yet healed, he could only maintain peak C-level strength. Barely on par with Wu Haiyi. This showed that although Dream Eaters possessed strength surpassing the same level of power in the Inner World, in reality, the heavens were fair; with every gift given, there was surely a corresponding limitation. The lifespan of Dream Eaters was just like that. Most of them had a lifespan not much different from ordinary people. Facing the emergence of numerous strong beings, accumulated over countless years, they could only choose to hide.

Most of the lights in the dormitory building were still on.

After seeing Shuang’er off to the hotel, Lin Fei walked alone to the front of the dormitory building and saw several boys who had gone out to surf the internet being stopped by the aunty at the entrance for registration. A few middle-aged people dressed as teachers were coming out, which seemed like dormitory inspections by the resident counselors.

With a light acceleration, he directly crossed the first floor lobby, instantaneously passing by the several boys and the dorm manager aunty who were registering, and then stopped at a secluded spot at the corner of the second-floor staircase. After adjusting his collar, Lin Fei slowly walked upstairs.

The dormitory room was on the second floor, close to the staircase. He could go directly in after turning the corner.

Gently pushing open the door of the dormitory room,

a strong scent of air freshener hit him immediately. Beneath the white light,

Du Xiaosheng was spraying air freshener everywhere with a green metallic bottle. Shi Ran was lying on his bed, reading a book and listening to music. Even with earplugs, the sound of rock music could be heard from a distance.

Ouyang Dong was lying on his bed with a cool pose, texting with one hand on his phone. The three of them did their own thing without interfering with each other.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Du Xiaosheng turned to see Lin Fei and asked with confusion,

"Where did you go, Lin Fei? The counselor just came to check. He asked where you were, and I said you were in the restroom. He even said he would come back to check later."

"Thanks," Lin Fei smiled. "I was mainly arranging accommodations for my little sister."

"Your sister? She’s here too?" Du Xiaosheng was taken aback. "My parents have already gone back."

"Yeah, she’s staying at a hotel nearby. She hasn’t gone back yet." Lin Fei walked over to his bed and sat down at his desk.

"How about we all go out for a meal together tomorrow? The other dorms are planning to do so." Du Xiaosheng suggested. "While everyone is still here."

"I’m not going. I have friends here, and I have to entertain them. No time," refused Ouyang Dong first.

Shi Ran didn’t seem to have heard at all.

"Shi Ran?" Du Xiaosheng shouted at him loudly.

The guy was clearly taken aback as if he had just heard him, and lightly pulled out one earplug.

"What’s up?"

"Are you going to the dinner tomorrow?"

"Is Ouyang Dong going?" he asked back.

"He’s not," Du Xiaosheng shook his head.

"Then let’s just go by ourselves. I know a restaurant that’s inexpensive and tastes good." Shi Ran immediately said with a laugh.

Their pretense was obvious; anyone with clear eyes could feel the tension between him and Ouyang Dong.

"Alright," Du Xiaosheng climbed up to his upper bunk. "Then you lead the way tomorrow. Call us when you find the place. Let’s all exchange phone numbers now."

The three of them quickly swapped phone numbers. They were all new cards made here. Ouyang Dong was the last to slowly report his own mobile number, but it didn’t seem to be a Capital City area code.

"Haven’t you changed your phone number, Ouyang?" Du Xiaosheng asked curiously. "Without changing it, every call counts as long-distance, which is quite expensive. You should change it."

"No big deal, that little amount of money has no impact," Ouyang Dong said nonchalantly, continuing to text.

"Tsk," Shi Ran let out a soft snort.

"What, you got a problem with that?" Ouyang Dong glared, speaking in a low voice.

"How would I dare? I mean, Ouyang the young master has immense family wealth, just a bit of phone charges, you could use it freely for a hundred or eighty years without issues, what could I possibly have to say about it?" Shi Ran said with a mocking tone that wasn’t quite insincere yet not entirely sincere either.

"What the hell do you mean?" Ouyang Dong sat up straight, placing his phone aside. His expression suddenly turned grim.

"Nothing," Shi Ran continued to lie on his bed reading.

Du Xiaosheng hurriedly stood in the middle, incessantly persuading.

It seemed that Ouyang was somewhat all bark and no bite, blustering for a bit with some platitudes before lying back down, returning to calmness. It appeared he was the type who only knew how to pretend but would not actually take action.

Lin Fei went to get hot water on his own and finished his wash. He went straight to bed and turned off the light.

Just like his previous life in the dorm, there would always be little conflicts among roommates, as well as verbal disagreements. However, apart from a few individuals, most were all talk with no action, and such scenarios were enacted several times every day.

In his previous life, he had always been the neutral party in the dorm, just as he was now.

He was just quietly watching the changes in the dorm room.

Once the lights were out, Du Xiaosheng and Lin Fei slept on the top bunks in a straight line. The two combination cabinets connected.

Just as the four were about to fall asleep,

after a while, the counselor came by, directly unlocking the door with a key.

"Is Lin Fei there?" The man was middle-aged, dressed in a gray suit without a tie. Underneath, he wore a black shirt.

"Here." Lin Fei responded and sat up straight.

"Where have you been just now? Why did you only come now?"

"Went to the restroom and then took a stroll around the other dorms," Lin Fei naturally made up a story.

"I’ve been around this floor the whole time. How come I didn’t see you?" The counselor’s way of speaking was somewhat stiff.

"Just didn’t happen to run into each other, I guess," Lin Fei said with a smile. The light from the corridor outside fell on his profile, giving him a fleeting alluring quality.

"Is that so?" The counselor paused for a moment, his tone softening. "Be more careful next time."

The door slammed shut. The rest in the dorm were puzzled; they had thought the counselor would give Lin Fei a severe rebuke, but it turned out to be much ado about nothing.

Lin Fei was a bit surprised himself, but didn’t dwell on it. All he needed was to live like any ordinary person, lying on his bed, preparing for each day of university like all the freshmen. Only at such times could he feel a strong sense of tranquility. Although practicing his Cultivation Force had already become his second nature, even in sleep he seemed to be slowly going through the basic cycles.

*************

The next day, before seven in the morning,

Lin Fei opened his eyes right on schedule.

He could already hear the sounds of people washing up.

He slowly propped himself up from the top bunk. The brightly lit white ceiling of the dormitory reflected the sunlight streaming in from the floor. The entire dormitory was dazzlingly bright.

He gently climbed down from the top bunk. Ouyang Dong was already spraying gel by the wash basin on the balcony. Dressed sharply, he probably had plans to meet some pretty girl or another. The other two were still lounging in bed.

Shi Ran groggily poked his head from the top bunk, casting a glance at Lin Fei.

"Why are you up so early? We finally have a chance to sleep in...."

"Just a habit, I can’t sleep anymore even if I wanted to," Lin Fei walked to the other side of the wash basin, squinting at himself in the mirror.

His messy hair flew up lightly on both sides, giving off the effect of a styled haircut. His face had gradually become seven parts like Lin You and three parts like Yan Jiu. This was a pretty good achievement. This face was already quite close to his real one. But compared to the face he kept hidden, this one still had a more masculine appeal.

Ouyang Dong, by his own cabinet, alternated between applying something to his face and curiously glancing at Lin Fei, then would pick up a mirror and peer into it, seemingly comparing the two.

"Shi Ran, do you have any plans later? Going to the library? Haven’t been to this one yet," said Du Xiaosheng, now awake and speaking softly.

"Let’s go, and I’ll borrow a book on behavioral psychology. I’ve been feeling a bit vexed recently," Shi Ran said, rubbing his face.

Ouyang Dong seemed to catch something in his words, shot Shi Ran a cold look, and promptly pulled the door open to leave.

"I’m off to morning practice. You guys keep sleeping," Lin Fei said as he took out a black Sword Bag from his closet, saying ’took out’ might not be as accurate as saying he directly retrieved it from the white Trial Space. Basically, all his important items were stored directly in the white Trial Space.

"I just can’t stand this Ouyang guy. So what if he has some money? What’s so great about that!" Shi Ran said disdainfully. "They aren’t even his own earnings; what’s there to be proud of?" Perhaps he saw a reflection of himself.

"Maybe that’s just his personality," Du Xiaosheng replied helplessly.

"Forget it, this is the first time I’ve seen such a pretentious guy," Shi Ran flipped over, propping himself up on the bed. "Tomorrow is when they start handing out the military training supplies. Two weeks of military training is such a pain."

"It’s not too bad. We had two weeks of military training in high school. It was kind of fun," Du Xiaosheng said with a smile.

The two then began discussing details and scenes from their high school military training.

Lin Fei, dressed in a plain white tracksuit and carrying a black Sword Bag, went straight out the door. It was just past six, and the corridor was eerily quiet, obviously because most people went to bed late the night before. There were very few people like Lin Fei out for morning practice.

Descending from the second floor to the first, he didn’t see a single person.

After leaving through the glass door of the dormitory building, the mild golden light of the morning sun rested comfortably on him, bringing out the feeling of warmth within the coolness, making his mind instantly refreshed and clear.

Yan Capital University has four sports fields, two in each campus area. The campus area near the Physics Institute has both a long-distance running track and a large basketball court. The basketball court is plastic and is not open for casual entrance, with its doors locked. Only the running track is open, covered with black sand and quite spacious, a standard 400-meter track surrounded by a dense thicket, with scattered stone benches and tables built just beyond the fences of the sports field. It felt serenely leisurely, as though one were resting in the woods.

The running track was about four to five hundred meters away from Lin Fei’s dormitory, separated by a dining hall, bath center, a woodland path, and the campus snack street near the gate. Along the way, he saw students coming in and out of the dining hall for breakfast, mostly males with a few females. Occasionally, he could see them holding food items like buns, steamed bread, or soy milk.

Lin Fei walked slowly on the road, his mood exceptionally peaceful.

It was as if last night’s battle with the Wu Family was just a phantom, a dream. He was waiting. Waiting for the right moment to arrive. The closer the eve of the great battle, the more he felt calm and natural. (To be continued.
