Chapter 215: Chapter 206 Beginning 2

Du Xiaosheng said helplessly, "Dude, are you even a guy? How can you not be interested in this kind of topic?"

"It’s nothing, just a personality issue," Lin Fei responded helplessly. Was he supposed to glare hungrily like these guys who seemed like they’ve never seen a woman before?

"True, you just need to look at yourself in the mirror every day. Why bother looking for a girl when you can satisfy yourself?" Du Xiaosheng said sourly. "Why is there such a big gap between people? I bet you’re very picky."

"Not really. I just haven’t thought about that," Lin Fei said with a smile.

"Don’t, you’re making me cringe pretending to be all pure," Du Xiaosheng waved his hand. Suddenly, he paused and looked behind Lin Fei as if something even more absurd had happened.

Smack!

Someone gently tapped Lin Fei on the shoulder.

"Hey!" A rather cute voice came from behind Lin Fei.

Instantly, all the boys in the area turned their heads in that direction. The noise of their conversations seemed to quiet down as everyone was probably curious to see what this girl, who could be considered the class beauty, was about to do.

This girl was one of the three girls in the class who attracted the most attention. Lin Fei’s first impression was that she had a demeanor similar to those noble girls in the West combined with the innocence of Eastern girls.

Her shoulder-length hair was neatly swept to one side, soft and shiny but not appearing to be artificially straightened or treated, wearing a silk white blouse with a dark purple little windbreaker over it. The whole girl dazzled somewhat blindingly. She slightly curved the corners of her mouth, and her rosy cheeks featured two small dimples. However, as she stared steadily at Lin Fei, she didn’t radiate that dazzle; instead, she seemed to have no trace of arrogance about her beauty. There was no pretense, very natural. There was a serious vibe about her, as if she would listen very earnestly to whatever you said.

"Is there something you need from me?" Lin Fei quietly asked. Although the girl was pretty, his sister was a top-level beauty, and frankly, one could get aesthetic fatigue.

"What’s your name? Can you tell me? It’s my first time encountering a legendary ’pseudo-girl,’" the girl asked openly.

"I don’t think I qualify." Lin Fei said with resignation, standing up and reaching out his hand. "Lin Fei, the character for ’morality’ in my name means ’right and wrong.’

"Cheng Nianwei." The girl shook Lin Fei’s hand gently, but her expression changed slightly, and she hurriedly let go. "Your skin is even better than mine," she complained under her breath. Others didn’t hear it, but Lin Fei did. It made him even more bemused.

In his previous life, he had been virtually unnoticed, but in this life, his appearance earned him entirely different treatment. It was the kind of scenario where a beautiful girl would initiate a conversation, something that normally only happened in legends.

He took a closer look at this girl named Cheng Nianwei.

Her eyebrows were even, unenhanced, her skin excellent, jelly-like almost flawless, a naturally beautiful face. It appeared she wore no makeup, just bare-faced, no foundation, cute with a hint of quietude. Her right hand was tucked into the pocket of her windbreaker, exuding a faint confidence.

"It’s nothing, just satisfying some curious girls’ curiosity," Cheng Nianwei hinted with a glance towards the area where the girls were, which immediately drew a slight chuckle.

"So you’re satisfied now, right?" Lin Fei softly said.

"Yeah, and by the way, could you vote for me later? I’m planning to run for class president."

"No problem," Lin Fei smiled.

Once the girl left, Lin Fei sat down again, and all the boys around him immediately gathered closer.

"Tsk tsk... I’ve been thinking about saying this for a while, but you really do look effeminate," one of the boys in front laughed.

"You’re not that legendary type, who has been brought up as a girl since you were little, are you?" another boy next to Du Xiaosheng asked.

"Definitely. Lin Fei, Lin Fei, even the name sounds so effeminate, and have you noticed? He has no beard!!"

"No way!"

"Really, I saw it!! Indeed, no beard and not even a hint of stubble!"

A group of boys surrounded and scrutinized Lin Fei.

"Enough, turn around. I’m not a panda; what’s with the staring?" Lin Fei said with a smile, his voice carrying a calm and undeniable firmness.

The boys around him unconsciously obeyed his words, slowly drifting away from the subject of Lin Fei and instead began discussing information about Cheng Nianwei.

Du Xiaosheng patted Lin Fei’s hand softly.

"Go for it, young man! If you hook up with Cheng Nianwei, you could save yourself ten years of struggling! I saw her coming in a Mercedes when school started."

"Really?" Lin Fei said, exasperated, "Then why don’t you try?"

"Nah, I don’t stand a chance. She’s out of my league!" Du Xiaosheng shrugged.

"How do you know if you don’t try?" Lin Fei laughed.

The two chatted for a while until the class teacher came in. He was a young man, probably a graduate student still studying at the university. He still had a youthful student vibe, different from those who had graduated and entered the workforce.

Following him in were Ouyang Dong and Shi Ran.

Du Xiaosheng merely glanced at the two and held his tongue. He didn’t like them. Even though it was obvious that their financial standing was much better than his own, the indifference and arrogance in their tone when they talked turned him off. Unlike Lin Fei, who treated everyone the same, these two clearly treated people differently based on their social standing and appearance.

The two of them were among the last to enter the classroom. Ouyang Dong was a bit handsome, which attracted the attention of a few girls, so he put on even more of an act, walking despondently to the empty seat behind Lin Fei and sitting down.

"I bet!" Du Xiaosheng whispered into Lin Fei’s ear. "This guy probably doesn’t even know why he’s acting so gloomy!"

Shi Ran, on the other hand, sat down alone on another empty seat on the other side. He simply didn’t socialize.

Ouyang Dong, with a despondent and sorrowful face and a bewildered look, sat in his seat, seemingly overhearing girls talking about him. He was secretly pleased and struck what he thought was his handsomest pose.

Up front, Du Xiaosheng’s face was twitching. The surrounding boys also felt like they had swallowed something nasty. That level of pretense was indeed rare.

Shi Ran’s face also hinted at a bit of relief.

"Good thing I didn’t sit next to that guy. Otherwise, I’d be so embarrassed." He glanced at Ouyang Dong one last time, feeling a figurative pain in his groin just by looking and quickly averted his gaze. "You would have to be brain-dead to pull something like that," he muttered under his breath and decided to take out his phone to text instead.

After the teacher said a few polite words on the podium, those who wanted to run for class representative were invited to come forward.

There was a slight awkward silence. As expected, Cheng Nianwei was the first to go up and stood by one side of the podium. Then another girl with a somewhat chilly beauty also went up. A muscular guy from among the boys went up too, standing at the side of the podium with a presence that seemed to equate to the combined weight of the two girls. He confidently brushed his hair with his hand and struck a casual pose.

Then came the voting. The candidates’ names were written on the blackboard. Small slips of paper were torn one by one and distributed to each student, who then wrote down the name of the person they wanted to vote for. Two people counted the votes up at the podium.

Lin Fei naturally wrote Cheng Nianwei’s name.

After counting the votes, Cheng Nianwei was unsurprisingly elected as the class rep. After all, everyone was new to the school, and there hadn’t been much interaction, but Cheng Nianwei’s performance just now had left a good impression. Naturally, between having no impression and a good one, most people would choose the latter. Perhaps that was one of Cheng Nianwei’s goals as well.

Du Xiaosheng also wrote Cheng Nianwei’s name. He glanced at Lin Fei next to him, who seemed to be daydreaming, staring blankly with his hands flat on the desk, he didn’t know what he was thinking but his eyes were fixed on the back of the chair in front of him.

"The guys from the neighboring dorm, Hu Yong and Chen Zaonian, are planning to go out for dinner, and the other dorms are pretty much planning dinners too. Shall we join them?" he suggested. Honestly, he found Lin Fei a peculiar person, doing everything with such an indifferent attitude, as if nothing really mattered to him. Strange. But a good appearance is always a huge plus in social interactions. Everyone likes to interact more with good-looking people. After all, it’s also a way to enhance one’s own face value. So usually, those with good external conditions generally don’t have poor interpersonal relationships, unless they have a significant flaw. Thus, although Lin Fei displayed an indifferent nature, he wasn’t as ignored as other students with a similar demeanor.

"You talk to Shi Ran and Ouyang about it. I don’t mind," Lin Fei said indifferently.

"Okay," Du Xiaosheng nodded.

"Let me know the place and time once you book it."

"Sure."

The class meeting ended soon after.

It had completely darkened outside. Walking back to the dormitory. The white street lamps cast a faint white light. The ringing of bicycle bells passed by from time to time. Du Xiaosheng’s voice next to him, other students’ laughter, were noisy.

"You guys go back to the dorm first. I’ve got something else to do and need to step out." Lin Fei said with a smile.

"Alright, we’ll head back first," Du Xiaosheng nodded; the other two nodded as well.

"I’ll not go back first either," Ouyang Dong followed.

He glanced at Lin Fei, "I’ll go ahead," and turned to walk down a small garden path by the roadside.

Lin Fei also left the stream of boys heading back to the dorm.

Following the school’s small path, he walked into the forest trail towards the nearest school gate.

The area was a bit dark, a spot not reached by the street lights, with heavy shadows.

He walked up to a pitch-black high wall.

Looking at the black wall before him, Lin Fei smiled slightly. He stepped forward and walked straight past it.

Sss...

The surrounding scenery suddenly turned black as if a curtain had been drawn, becoming nothingness.

Then the nothingness instantly reverted to the original forest.

Everything looked as before, but now a small figure stood in front of the high wall.

"Brother."

"Let’s go."

A black longsword suddenly appeared in Lin Fei’s hand.

Shuang’er gently leaped, sitting on Lin Fei’s right shoulder.

Swoosh!

The two suddenly disappeared. (To be continued. If you like this work, feel free to vote for it with a recommendation ticket or a monthly ticket at Qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
