Chapter 199: Chapter 192 Process 2
The black minivan slowly headed towards another fork in the road, moving further and further away from Ping’an Prison.
Inside the vehicle, Lin Fei sat in the passenger seat, while Chen Chen drove in silence. The three prisoners in the back were freely seated.
As the prison got farther away, surrounded by a forest of trees with hardly any human trace, Zhang Wenwei couldn’t help but speak up.
"So, where exactly are we heading?"
Lin Fei turned around, sizing up Zhang Wenwei without a word. The other woman remained silent too.
Zhang Wenwei couldn’t figure out their intentions and stopped talking. He just gently nudged the prisoner next to him.
"I... I urgently need to pee... can we stop the car so I can take care of some personal business?" The person immediately shouted out loud.
Right in front, there was a small forest trail extending into the trees on the left side of the highway, just wide enough for a car to pass through.
"Let’s stop right here, let him take care of his personal business," Lin Fei said lightly.
Chen Chen nodded, and the minivan gradually slowed down, coming to a stop at the fork in the road.
"Open the door yourself, it’s not locked," Lin Fei said nonchalantly.
Zhang Wenwei and the others were surprised. A prisoner transport van with unlocked doors—they hadn’t even realized it before she pointed it out.
"She’s too cooperative, could it be that the guys outside arranged for someone to rescue me?" Zhang Wenwei suddenly felt suspicious.
The moment that prisoner opened the door, he heard Lin Fei’s voice as she also got out of the vehicle.
"Everyone get out," Lin Fei said calmly. She then quietly told Chen Chen, who was driving, "You head back now, come pick me up in half an hour."
Chen Chen nodded.
The three were driven out. Lin Fei, walking ahead, led them down the forest trail.
After they disembarked, Chen Chen took a turn and left immediately. Chen Chen always meticulously followed Lin Fei’s commands; despite having Xiaoling, Lin Fei still preferred Chen Chen for these tasks, as Xiaoling was somewhat inferior by comparison.
In the summer, the four walked along the forest path, stepping on a thick layer of pine and other tree leaves that felt like a soft carpet, crunching underfoot. They were surrounded by a deep and endless forest, without a trace of human presence, and the slightly warm air quickly turned to a chilling coolness.
Walking on such a path made all three feel rather uneasy.
After a while, Lin Fei, still quiet, led the way when Zhang Wenwei couldn’t stand the silence any longer. Just as he was about to speak,
"Alright, here is fine," Lin Fei suddenly said, pulling a pair of white gloves out of her pocket and slowly putting them on.
"Brother, what does this mean?" Looking around and confirming that it was indeed only the four of them, Zhang Wenwei felt certain. "Which group are you with?" He assumed Lin Fei was one of his outside brothers.
Lin Fei’s expression remained calm. She gently took out a small fruit knife from her trouser pocket.
"Don’t be nervous, it’ll just hurt a little," she said gently.
Zhang Wenwei and the others were stunned by her words when suddenly, loud shouts came from all around.
****************
Hiss...
A screeching halt sounded at the spot where Chen Chen had previously parked.
Two black cars stopped right at the forest trail entrance.
The car doors opened quickly, and five men dressed differently stepped out.
The leader was a middle-aged man in a black suit.
"This is the place. They entered here," a muscular man said solemnly.
"Let’s go," the man in the black suit said quietly, holding a black pistol.
The group quickly moved, each pulling out a pistol and heading into the forest trail.
Suddenly, faint voices could be heard ahead.
The man in the black suit instantly raised his hand, signaling everyone to silence.
"Move quietly, observe first before taking action," he whispered to his brothers. They all nodded slightly, understanding the critical moment had come.
The five men split up, advancing slowly in a fan formation into the woods.
They soon saw the big brother with three others and a young man with long hair facing them, talking.
"...this is the place," said the young man abruptly.
At those words, the man in the black suit’s heart lurched, and he waved his hand.
"Go!"
The group burst out of the trees, shouting loudly.
"Stop! Don’t move!"
"Big brother!" The man in the black suit stepped forward to Zhang Wenwei, lowering his voice.
Zhang Wenwei finally felt relieved. Seeing a familiar subordinate, he knew he was truly free.
"You finally came. But even without you, this brother here wouldn’t have let anything go wrong," Zhang Wenwei said, pointing at Lin Fei.
"Brother, which side did you come from?" The man in the black suit stepped forward and patted Lin Fei’s shoulder. His eyes shifted subtly, and one of his men understood immediately.
Bang, bang, bang!
Three gunshots rang out, echoing through the entire forest, startling countless birds. The sound of flapping wings and incessant chirping followed.
Stunned, Zhang Wenwei clutched his chest as blood flowed continuously from his torso.
"You... you..." He pointed at the man in the black suit, but ultimately failed to complete his sentence, collapsing to the ground. The three other prisoners from the same jail fell likewise.
"You really thought I’d work for you my entire life!" the man in the black suit spat angrily. "What a joke! How could your properties become mine if you weren’t dead? Blame yourself for trusting me too much."
He turned to face Lin Fei.
"Kid, tell me, which territory are you from?"
Five guns were pointed at Lin Fei simultaneously.
Lin Fei stood calmly in place, his expression indifferent.
"Too many people."
The man in the black suit was taken aback.
"What?"
*****************
The television was turned on, broadcasting an entertainment program from a local Ping City channel, featuring men and women jumping around in a swimming pool, competing by stepping on floating balls. But there was no sound; it had clearly been muted.
In the kitchen, rhythmic sounds of chopping echoed continuously.
A cute little girl with double ponytails and a large black hair bow was carefully cutting carrot slices on her tiptoes.
There was steam rising from the iron pan on the induction cooker next to her, clearly indicating that she was cooking. The pan sizzled with the sound of cooking oil. The entire kitchen was filled with a faint aroma of fried meat.
Outside the kitchen window, in a building across, at the window of one of the apartments,
a young woman stood with her arms crossed, watching Shuang’er cook.
"Is that her? Such a little girl? You must be joking," said the woman, her large black mole at the corner of her mouth making her quite respectable features suddenly seem rather mean.
"It’s her!" said the two people next to her, a man and a woman. The man confidently said, "Based on the information from Chen Jing, we have confirmed it many times; it’s this girl named Shuang’er who killed three Dream Eaters including Wu Siwang. But she was also injured."
"Those trash from Wu Siwang’s side, although very weak, to eliminate all of them is still somewhat impressive," the woman mused. "I heard there’s occasionally a young man who visits here too?"
"Yes, there’s another person who also comes by occasionally, but we’ve checked him for a while and confirmed he’s just a regular person," another woman responded.
"Let’s take action once the next group arrives," the woman with the mole said casually. "Removing this nail in the red boots will stabilize another stronghold for us in Ping City."
"They’ll be here in about twenty minutes. It won’t be long," the man instantly replied.
****************
The men in black suits couldn’t grasp what the young man in front of them meant. The man in the black suit’s expression hardened; he seemed to remember something and slightly stepped back.
"Ah!!"
A scream suddenly erupted.
Then a series of screams followed one after another.
Lin Fei’s figure blurred briefly, then returned to normal.
Four men clutched at their chests, struggling as they collapsed to the ground. The handguns fell to the ground.
Only the man in the black suit, because he had stepped back just in time, narrowly avoided the consecutive strikes. Even so, his body could not help but tremble.
"Indeed!!" His lips trembled.
Lin Fei slightly exclaimed in surprise, looking at him, seemingly because he had narrowly avoided the attack.
"Don’t! Don’t kill me!!" the man in the black suit pleaded, retreating with his gun raised.
"The crimes committed by people like Zhang Wenwei were enough to warrant the death penalty long ago; they managed to survive until now only thanks to their vast network of relationships," Lin Fei sighed softly, "I am simply doing heaven’s work, for the sake of justice in this world."
"I!! I never do bad things!!! Never!!" The man in the black suit was bordering on a breakdown. What the hell kind of maniac is this?! Talking about justice?! Why don’t you just die?! Killing so many people, and you still talk about justice?! Isn’t there any heaven’s law?! At this moment, the man in the black suit felt like crying. He had planned for so long and was about to succeed, but unexpectedly, a lunatic jumped out, claiming to be doing heaven’s work, leaving the man in the black suit feeling both outraged and aggrieved.
"You wouldn’t understand," Lin Fei shook his head, as the fruit knife suddenly disappeared.
With a hiss, it embedded into the black-suited man’s throat. Blood instantly spurted.
The latter could only weakly cover his throat as he fell to his knees, struggled briefly, then collapsed onto the ground.
A breeze blew, carrying with it the scent of blood. Faint noises emanated from the dense forest nearby, evidently attracting something.
Lin Fei’s expression remained calm as he reached out with one hand.
"Shall we begin the Blood Sacrifice?" a colorless synthetic voice echoed in his mind.
"Yes."
Woo...
A faint sound resembling that of some instrument began to emit from in front of Lin Fei. Soon, the sound intensified.
Lin Fei’s outstretched right hand slowly glowed with a faint red light. At the same time, his eyes gradually revealed a crimson luminescence, resembling crystal.
The red light enveloped the corpses on the ground.
Suddenly, all the corpses began to slowly dissolve.
"Sufficient flesh detected, would you like to reserve it after processing?"
"Yes."
In total, eight corpses quickly dissolved into clusters of red flesh, which automatically separated from clothing and other inanimate objects, leaving only the masses of flesh. Then slowly, the eight masses of flesh fused into one whole mass.
"Commencing psychic transmission."
A blurred phantom slowly emerged from Lin Fei and instantly entered the mass of flesh.
The blood red light shined on Lin Fei’s calm face.
"The Wu family must also be starting now..." he murmured. (To be continued. If you enjoy this piece, you are welcome to vote for it with recommendation tickets and Monthly Tickets at qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
