True Solution of the Sword Dao -
Chapter 196 - 189: Blood Sacrifice I
Chapter 196: Chapter 189: Blood Sacrifice I
"Confirmation of choice, revive the defeated Yuan Yicheng." The voice echoed within the space, its tone emotionless, sending chills down the spine of anyone who heard it.
Bang!
The body of Yuan Yicheng, who had fallen dead on the ground, suddenly exploded into countless white light spots. These light spots swirled around like fireflies, spinning in a vortex.
Each light spot was the size of a grain of rice, emitting a pale moon-white fluorescence, thousands upon thousands of them revolving rapidly around a central point, forming a funnel shape.
Lin Fei quietly watched everything unfold, finding everything in the Sword Dao True Solution unfamiliar and novel.
He held great expectations for this so-called resurrection. From what was explained, this kind of resurrection seemed to solely increase one’s power. He could imagine the overwhelming force when the holder of the Sword Dao True Solution stood backed by numerous top-level Sword Dao experts, which would be impossible to ignore in any world.
Meanwhile, the first option was simply to enhance one’s own strength, meaning there were two different paths: one to strengthen oneself, the other to augment with outside forces. This allowed the holder of the Sword Dao True Solution to handle any situation, whether it be individual enemies or collective forces.
The innumerable moon-white light spots spun rapidly and eventually started to converge towards a single point. Taking on the form of a tornado, they poured down into one spot from top to bottom.
Lin Fei squinted his eyes, and through the intensifying light, he could vaguely see that these converging light spots were gradually forming into a blurred human shape.
"Yuan Yicheng, elite disciple of the Siyue Sword Sect, skilled in swordsmanship – Siyue Sword Technique Basic Sword Technique, Siyue Sword Technique Intermediate Sword Technique, Siyue Sword Technique High Level Sword Technique, Luo Sha Sword Technique. Cultivation level: Qi Cultivation Realm. Strength integrity: 70%. Proceed with resurrection?"
"Yes," Lin Fei confirmed with certainty.
Suddenly, the countless light spots instantly took shape, and the brightness quickly faded away, leaving behind a handsome young man in a moon-white robe. The man hung a white longsword with gold embroidery at his waist, his expression confused.
"Where... where am I?"
The voice in the void spoke up once more.
"Initiating language and text synchronization. Starting synchronization with the Trial Space."
The surrounding space suddenly shook violently, booming loudly, with the rumble continuing incessantly as the ground also shook. The entire space seemed to be undergoing some tremendous change.
Lin Fei braced himself with his feet to stabilize his body, his expression unchanged.
"Space evolution synchronization? This Sword Dao True Solution feels just like a complete system," he thought to himself.
Yuan Yicheng also seemed to recover from his confusion due to the massive disturbance. Upon seeing Lin Fei, he immediately wore a serious expression, stepped forward, and bowed respectfully.
"Sword Master."
The shaking of the surroundings quickly subsided, and the space returned to its original stability.
Lin Fei did not rush to explore the changes around him but instead watched Yuan Yicheng with interest.
"What do you know?" he asked an ambiguous question, curious to see how he would respond.
Yuan Yicheng remained composed and bowed his head.
"Sword Master, it is my honor, Yuan Yicheng, to serve under you as long as you inherit the Supreme Sword Canon."
Just as Lin Fei was about to speak further, a stream of information suddenly entered his brain.
"Transfer of the Revived One Contract is commencing. Please be prepared."
"Contract transfer?" Lin Fei was startled.
However, suddenly, his brain felt as though pricked by needles, an overwhelming pain drowning all of Lin Fei’s senses in an instant.
"Ugh..." Lin Fei clutched his head, the facade used to hide his true face dissipated completely, revealing his natural appearance. His long hair flowed free, breaking free from the restraint of the hairband. An almost boundless agony continuously assaulted Lin Fei’s sanity in his mind.
His vision blurred, he could hear nothing, his whole body felt numb, and even his sense of smell failed him. The places for his five senses were entirely engrossed by an infinite pain.
The pain lasted for several minutes before it gradually subsided. Lin Fei even thought his head had exploded. The agony was so intense that his very existence seemed imperceptible. Such an experience was something he had never encountered in either his past life or the current one.
As he caught his breath, Lin Fei’s senses slowly began to return.
The space before him remained unchanged. Across from him, Yuan Yicheng was also convulsing, sweating profusely from his forehead, with his eyes tightly shut and half-kneeling on the ground, evidently enduring unbearable torment just as Lin Fei had.
Lin Fei slowly sat down, cross-legged on the ground, waiting for Yuan Yicheng to finish while also recovering to his original state.
After a while, Yuan Yicheng gradually opened his eyes, which reflected deep fatigue.
"Sword Master," he immediately knelt on one knee. "My apologies."
Just as Lin Fei was about to speak, he suddenly paused. His gaze froze, staring blankly at the half-kneeling Yuan Yicheng.
He could clearly sense that the moment Yuan Yicheng stabilized, a small spherical bead had suddenly appeared next to the regular diamond-shaped crystal core of the True Force within his body.
Although he couldn’t look within, his body’s heightened sensitivity from the transformation relayed every detail of his internal condition accurately. So he could feel that the sudden spherical bead was, like his own core, filled with True Force. Moreover, it was stronger than the energy within himself.
But unlike his own energy, the bead was much smaller, and the aura of its True Force was distinctively different.
If his own True Force had a hint of icy chill, then the force within the bead was as gentle as water.
"Foreign energy detected within the Sword Master, retain it?" the voice in the space spoke up again.
"Foreign energy?" Lin Fei hesitated, suspecting that part of the True Force within him stemmed from the legitimate True Force Crystal, while another part was from the cool energy he had dubbed pseudo-True Force. The two had fused together. Could it be that the Sword Dao True Solution had detected this energy?
"Is it harmful or beneficial to keep it?"
"Unknown, currently it seems to be beneficial."
"Then keep it." Lin Fei vaguely felt that the pseudo True Force might also harbor a significant secret within.
After processing the information, Lin Fei came back to his senses and glanced at Yuan Yicheng, who was kneeling on one knee before him. He noticed that the other party was completely unaware.
"Can he hear the Space’s inquiries?"
There was no response from the surroundings.
Lin Fei slightly frowned, a thought crossing his mind.
"Can Yuan Yicheng hear all the sounds that I can hear?"
"He can hear any sound except for the Sword Canon’s communication." Sure enough, there was a response from the Space.
Lin Fei nodded slightly, "Indeed, the consultation here is akin to a database, one must have a clear target name and specific inquiry content, no pronouns, to receive a complete answer."
Suddenly, the voice echoed again in the space, still emotionless.
"Contract transfer complete."
Lin Fei felt a jolt in his mind.
Looking at Yuan Yicheng before him, a strange feeling surged in his heart. He seemed to be able to hear the other person’s thoughts and considerations.
"Is the Sword Master testing me? Or does he think that I’m not excellent enough?"
"Although I’ve come to a new world, as long as I’m under the Sword Master and the Supreme Sword Canon, it’s all the same wherever I am."
"The Sword Master is supreme!!"
"My life was granted by the Sword Master, and I shall repay his kindness for a lifetime!"
"Kill all who dare to resist the Sword Master!!"
A stream of thoughts that seemed akin to brainwashing continually came from Yuan Yicheng. Lin Fei was almost overwhelmed, incessantly receiving a flood of information.
"What is my current state?" he asked the Space with a thought.
"Sword Master: Lin Fei (Wandering Swordsman), Cultivation Level: Qi Cultivation Stage First Realm The First Layer Peak (equivalent to Qi Cultivation Realm Cultivation). Swordsmanship proficiency: Basic Sword Technique. Current state: Mind Synchronization with the Revived One. Carry limit: 1/1."
"Mind Synchronization?" Lin Fei felt the jumbled thoughts of Yuan Yicheng continuously rushing over like a tide.
"What does Mind Synchronization mean?"
"The Sword Master may choose to accept the inner thoughts and considerations of the Revived One. The default state is on."
"Can it be turned off?"
"Yes."
"Then, turn it off!" Lin Fei nearly shouted.
Hiss...
In an instant, the noisy surrounding sounds rapidly faded away.
Only then did Lin Fei realize how precious the original tranquility had been.
Yuan Yicheng was still kneeling on the ground, his head bowed without saying a word.
"Mind Synchronization can only be temporarily turned off; it must be forcibly activated for one day every nine days, time unit world synchronized... Remaining time: 23 hours 59 minutes 01 second."
Lin Fei finally understood what the so-called ’great burden’ meant.
There was an additional spherical True Force Core inside his body; he had yet to see any physical burden, but the mental burden was this terrible Mind Synchronization, and it was a mandatory rule that had to be activated.
Just now, it had only been activated for one minute. Lin Fei felt almost dizzy with the numerous thoughts of Yuan Yicheng crowding his head. His mind was in complete disarray. He couldn’t clearly distinguish which thoughts were his own and which were Yuan Yicheng’s. Such a mental burden could indeed be described as tremendous. Those with unstable mental states might, over time, even lose the ability to discern themselves.
"You may stand up," Lin Fei said softly as he rubbed his temples. He was somewhat regretful of his choice to resurrect. But what was done was done, and regret was useless. His principle was never to have regrets; rather than waste time regretting, he preferred to summarize his mistakes and move forward. Regret was nothing but a wasteful treading of water, a waste of time and energy.
Yuan Yicheng stood up from the ground, his expression respectful.
Lin Fei, looking weary, found that even if he only thought quietly in his own heart, as long as the thought occurred, the Sword Canon could still provide feedback, provided his mental content was appropriate.
He continued to consult Space: "What does the carry limit from earlier mean?"
"The current number of Revived Ones that the Sword Master can undertake. The maximum is 1, with 1 already revived. The number is determined by the Cultivation Level."
"Can I let the Revived One leave this space and return to my world?" Lin Fei was now finding a pattern; except for referring to himself, he had to be specific with other subjects to potentially receive accurate information.
"If the Revived One is required to leave the basic space, the condition that must be met outside is—Blood Sacrifice. Blood Sacrifice, according to the strength of the Revived One, requires a certain amount of same-species blood and flesh for coagulation and conversion." (To be continued.
