True Solution of the Sword Dao
Chapter 174 - 168: Black Demon Sword 2

Chapter 174: Chapter 168: Black Demon Sword 2

Shi Yinsong’s eyes turned cold, but it seemed he thought of something and immediately calmed down.

"Do you think the Black Demon Sword would be that simple?" he suddenly laughed softly. Abruptly, he raised his hand, and the Black Sword fiercely slashed in Qin Yi’s direction. A formless sword trace instantly shot out.

Lin Fei lightly flicked his right hand, and Bear Claw flew out, spinning to intercept the twisting sword trace, creating a clash that produced a metallic ringing sound. Simultaneously, his figure instantly vanished, and blue tassels appeared again in front of Qin Yi and the others, directly blocking all the aftermath. Lin Fei perfectly caught the rebounding Bear Claw, paused slightly, and then saw a faint black aura appear around Shi Yinsong’s body. The black aura seemed to quickly condense into something solid, appearing to be a half-body breastplate.

"Let’s end this," Lin Fei did not want to waste any more time with him. The round totem on his back lit up in an instant, and the Divine Beast Mosquito’s pattern slowly rotated within it. Countless black rings danced. Lin Fei’s figure instantly disappeared from the spot and appeared right behind Shi Yinsong.

Hiss.

All the black aura on Shi Yinsong dissipated, his eyes showing disbelief as a deep blood mark slowly appeared on his neck, and without another sound, he thumped to the ground.

Lin Fei gently raised his hand, Bear Claw now full of notches. Most of its original serrations were also broken. This weapon, which had always been very handy, seemed no longer viable.

After Shi Yinsong fell, the Black Demon Sword in his hand did not dissipate but reverted to an ordinary metal longsword, as if all its energy had disappeared with the dispersal of the black smoke.

Lin Fei picked up the Black Demon Sword. Its silver blade was dull and lusterless, with no decoration on the blade or hilt, just an ordinary longsword. Simple and streamlined. If Lin Fei had not just seen Shi Yinsong fighting him with it, he would not believe this was the formidable Black Demon Sword. He sheathed it with the sword sheath of the longsword he had been using earlier. It was exactly the right length.

He glanced at Qin Yi and her daughters, who were peeping out from behind the TV cabinet, still unsettled.

Lin Fei did not speak and turned to leave with big strides.

His and their world were ultimately different.

With the assassination task completed, An Caiyuan’s modern car passed a police car entering with belated sirens. Everything had been cleaned up early in the assassination process by the local Shueisha, which maintained its silence. This was a result coordinated beforehand.

Grasping the steering wheel, An Caiyuan looked somewhat uncomfortable.

"Elder brother and the others failed. That cult’s priest was severely wounded and escaped, others are dead or injured, and the battle was practically over as soon as it began. Elder brother had three Grade C peak fighters, while we only had one, and even split routes to go to the Shi Family. The Knight Order’s Jason and Violet are still eluding capture. Elder brother has publicly declared, aside from those three strongest with elder brother, me, and fourth brother can stay out of it," An Caiyuan paused, "I agreed."

"So, it’s no longer our concern?" said An Dongyong from the back seat, sounding relaxed.

"No, An Yuanxun invited us to watch their assassination of ’Green Demon.’" An Caiyuan’s face turned grim, "This is his way of showing off his power."

"Then let’s go," said Lin Fei from the passenger seat, sounding indifferent. "It would be good to witness the strength of a Grade C master."

An Caiyuan nodded, and from her jacket pocket, she pulled out a little black box that looked just like those used for rings or jewelry. She gently opened it, revealing three transparent gemstones and something black and pearl-like.

She handed the three transparent gemstones to Lin Fei.

"These are the rewards I promised you before."

The black pearl-like object, however, was for An Dongyong behind her.

The latter, overjoyed, quickly took it.

"This mission was quite easy," he remarked.

"Just good luck," An Caiyuan said, lowering her eyelids slightly, sounding somewhat tired.

As the car drove on, they hadn’t yet reached the Shi Family’s headquarters located in the historical district. They were merely on the highway. Lin Fei suddenly looked up, a green light flashed in the air amidst expanding ripples. Then, a strong potential energy reaction came from ahead. True Force quickly enveloped him, maintaining his strength at around a Grade D level.

The other two beside him seemed not to notice and remained unperturbed.

Lin Fei thoughtfully regained his calm.

Suddenly, An Caiyuan’s cellphone made a beeping sound signaling a text message. She quickly pulled it out and scanned the message, then looked up with a grave voice.

"It’s over. ’Green Demon’ and the others, they’re all dead."

Qin Yi, holding her two daughters, had just run out of the villa when she covered her mouth and retched.

The air was filled with the scent of blood, and the last scene she saw was Shi Yinsong falling to the ground, blood gushing from his neck. Though she had covered her daughters’ eyes as she rushed them out, she knew they must have seen the bodies scattered in the main hall. Yet, this was merely her own consolation, as she wished for her daughters to remain pure and pristine in her heart.

Throughout the neighborhood, curtains were tightly drawn in other villas, all quiet, with other residents afraid of involving themselves. This was a high-end villa area; anyone who lived here was a person of some standing, but still, someone had dared to commit a violent attack complete with gunfire. The conflict must have been severe.

Standing at the entrance to Shi Yinsong’s villa, Qin Yi saw the bodies scattered haphazardly once again, among them unmistakably was Shi Qingwen, with several bodyguards piled on top of him as if to shield him from bullets, but a bullet had pierced straight through his forehead, rendering the sacrifice of the other bodyguards utterly pointless.

"No!!" Qin Yi exclaimed in shock, regaining some strength she immediately thought of the Shi family’s power in Jiangnan City, "We must leave here immediately!" She could feel the various gazes shooting out from behind the curtains of the surrounding residences. But now she could not afford to care about that.

"Mom, let’s not stay here any longer," Qin Xiaolu’s voice trembled, but she still mustered the courage to speak up.

Qin Yi nodded firmly: "Let’s go! Leave this place! Leave Jiangnan City!"

France, Paris

The night lights illuminated the entire street, making everything bright with a yellow glow. The fluorescence from the billboards and the light spilling from the street-side shops mixed together, creating a lively scene.

A disheveled singer sat at the curb, strumming a dark brown guitar, his snowy beard and hair revealing his old age. In front of him stood a microphone stand, likely powered by a connection from one of the nearby shops. A black guitar case lay at his feet. From him drifted a heartfelt yet slightly off-tune "Hotel California."

At a street-side restaurant nearby, French locals sat eating crepe sandwiches. Passersby occasionally paused in front of shop-front price lists laid on the ground.

Next to the elderly singer, from a somewhat gloomy alley, a strangely dressed man emerged quietly. He was clad in a long red hair that reached his waist and wore an oversized black coat, topped with a round black hat. His tall physique was draped in a coat which reflected a metallic sheen under the lights.

As the man passed the old singer, he softly dropped a five-euro note before melting into the flow of people on the street.

Shortly after, at the opposite street-side restaurant, a blond man speckled with freckles put away his phone, stood up, and followed in the direction the previous man had gone.

The two men, one after another, continued forward among the crowd. This was a pedestrian street in Paris, devoid of vehicles. The narrow street could only accommodate three street-side restaurant tables. Various brands of perfumes mixed together, some even pungently.

Only when they turned into a desolate street did the man with red hair begin to slow down.

The blonde man behind him followed closely without any care of being noticed by the man in front.

The two slowly walked down the quiet street, a contrast to the earlier hustle and bustle, now seemingly in a warehouse district, with almost no one around, only the lights of yellow street lamps guiding the way.

"Aisaha?" The blond man suddenly called out.

As he spoke, the man with red hair immediately halted and turned around. His face carried a faint smile.

"Are you looking for me?" His voice was androgynous, seeming somewhat ethereal.

"To think I would encounter one of the Holy See’s Knights, it truly is an honor," the blonde man said with a smile.

"Child of Hell, Sis, do you not understand what a Knight signifies? Yet you still dare to appear before me," Aisaha said with a smile. His complexion was rather pale, his long hair a fiery red, but his person exuded a faint, cold aura.

Sis’s freckles quickly vanished, his face shape shifted instantaneously as his originally extreme handsome features reemerged. His blond hair returned to its dazzling original color.

"Even if Lord Auston has momentarily left, as long as I am still a member of the Tower of Glory, the Knight Order will not lay a hand on me," Sis said gently, "and without the support of the Knight Order, just you alone ..." He didn’t finish his sentence, but the implication was clear.

Aisaha shook his head slightly, as if unwilling to say more, then suddenly thrust out one hand, grasping at the air.

"Protection!"

A transparent semi-circular shield immediately emanated from him, enveloping all the surrounding scenery in an instant.

The two stood in the middle of the street.

A silver car sped down the street, seemingly completely oblivious to the two men, as if they were mere illusions as it passed right through them.

It appeared as though this entire area had completely detached from the real world.

Behind Sis, faint black smoke began to rise, quickly coalescing into six massive black wings, the glossy black feathers reflecting like metal under the lights, slightly fluttering and creating numerous whirlwinds.

Behind Aisaha materialized a pair of giant fiery red eyes, numerous phantom red flames floating behind him. His red hair slowly fluttered.

"If that is all you are capable of, then today will be the day of your demise," Sis said calmly.

Aisaha paused for a moment, then suddenly laughed lightly. Behind him, numerous fiery red ripples suddenly appeared, spreading through the air like ripples on water.

"It is you who is seeking death!" (to be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to vote for recommendation tickets, monthly tickets at qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation.)
