Chapter 645: Chapter 644: Prove it to Me_1

After Yan Ling pushed the man out of the flower room, she headed towards his villa.

There was a bit of distance from the flower room to King’s residence, and she intentionally walked very slowly.

The man seemed unmoved by this, silent as if he were asleep in the wheelchair, letting her have her way.

Yan Ling wanted to strike up a conversation with him several times, but she did not know where to start.

Should she tell him that he was not, in fact, the real King?

But, was just Qi Yunjue under hypnosis?

Engaging in such a foolish act was something she would not do.

But how could she help him regain his memories?

When it came to hypnosis and psychotherapy, Yan Ling was not very proficient.

And besides, everyone’s hypnosis methods differed.

If Linxi’s hypnosis techniques were superior to hers, then helping King un-do the hypnosis would likely be impossible.

Even if her power could match Linxi’s, without mastering Linxi’s hypnosis habits and common triggers, it would still be impossible to undo the hypnosis Linxi had set up.

It was like trying to crack multiple combinations of passwords.

Each person’s memories were unique.

Modifying someone’s original identity and turning them into someone else required complex layers of hypnosis to achieve such an effect.

A single hypnosis "password" was already challenging to break, and who knew how many times Linxi had done such hypnosis sessions on King.

Assisting King in breaking free from hypnosis and retrieving his memories - the task was as hard as scaling the heavens.

"Step!" The man suddenly spoke, alerting her.

Yan Ling jolted and then realized that they had arrived at a set of stairs leading upward.

"Do you regret it?"

Looking at the troubled expression on the man beside her, King’s voice was laden with chilliness.

It was as if, should she dare to say yes, he would turn around and strangle her without hesitation.

"Not at all, I’m thinking about how I should help you transform," Yan Ling casually brushed it off, promptly quickening her pace. This was not an ideal place for a conversation.

Upon arriving at King’s room, Yan Ling immediately fetched the first aid kit.

His shoulder was injured and needed immediate attention.

By now, King had already taken off his shirt himself.

Seeing his body covered in wounds, Yan Ling was filled with a mixture of regret and guilt.

Just as the man was about to move himself from the wheelchair onto the bed, Yan Ling quickly stepped forward to stop him.

"Don’t move around! You might reopen your wounds," she warned.

Her rare show of tenderness added a different light to the man’s eyes.

He ignored her objection and tried to stand up on his own using the wheelchair for support.

Unable to dissuade him, Yan Ling had no choice but to help him.

But for her, it was somewhat difficult trying to support a grown man on her own.

Caught in this pull, the man who was about to stand lost his balance, and, holding on to Yan Ling, they both fell to the ground.

"Ugh..."

Yan Ling tumbled right into King’s embrace, pressing herself against his wound, causing him to let out a stifled groan of pain.

"Are you okay? Let me see," she said.

In this moment, Yan Ling had no time to put on a facade—the concern and care in her eyes couldn’t be hidden.

King took in every bit of her reaction.

As she was about to examine his wound, he caught her hand.

"No need to look. A Great Demon King like me, who is capable of all evils, should have been dead! Don’t tarnish those hands meant for healing others," he asserted.

Yan Ling frowned slightly.

Those words had an odd ring to them.

Carefully observing the man’s expression, she noticed that it remained void of any emotion.

Yan Ling grew more worried that he might intend to give up on himself because of something she had said or done.

"Don’t talk nonsense. In the eyes of a healer like us, there are no good or bad people. Besides, haven’t you already promised me that you would turn over a new leaf? Or, were you just lying to me?" she asked.

"No!" Despite his cold demeanor, the man made his stance clear.

Yan Ling smiled, "Since you’re willing to change, it means you’re not beyond redemption. So, for the time being, I suppose I can tolerate you."

Upon hearing her words, the otherwise desolate man had a flash of calculation in his eyes.

The next second, he sat up and wrapped his arms around Yan Ling’s waist, forcing their bodies to press closely against each other.

"Prove it to me!"
