Chapter 372: Chapter 371: An Eye for an Eye_1

"I can’t be bothered with you all." Professor Zheng glared at Avril and headed straight for the consultation seat.

Avril didn’t dare to push her luck with Professor Zheng too much, so she smiled at Yan Ling and then sat down with her.

They were here to film a television program, but aside from some extra filming equipment and crew members, the hospital was no different than usual.

The patient for this consultation was a young man in his early thirties.

He had just been admitted that morning, and the initial diagnosis suggested that he had not only broken six ribs, but he also had damage to several internal organs, including his lungs and stomach.

But that wasn’t the main issue. The primary concern was that his left leg, which had been injured and neglected, was severely infected and might need to be amputated.

However, the patient refused the amputation, and the risk associated with forced surgery was extremely high!

As Dr. Yan listened to the other doctors discussing the patient’s condition while reviewing his medical records, she looked up into the face of a man with a menacing expression and shuddered, causing the records to scatter onto the floor.

"How can someone as grown-up as you be so timid? He’s just a man with a fierce face. You’re not scared of me, so why would you be scared of him?"

As he spoke, Professor Zheng bent down to pick up the scattered documentation from the floor, stuffing it back into her hands with a disdainful look.

Yan Ling defended the irritable but kind-hearted Professor Zheng, saying, "You’re not being fierce, you’re being rigorous in your approach to medicine."

This man was different. From the first glance, she had felt a sense of danger from him.

It was as if she was being targeted by a beast lurking in the dark, a feeling that instilled fear and unease in her.

"If you could apply the effort you spend arguing to your medical skills, you would be much more advanced by now."

That said, Professor Zheng took the patient’s information from Yan Ling, "Alright, you go carry out your ward round! I will have a look at this patient."

As Professor Zheng had spoken, Yan Ling didn’t make a fuss and went on her rounds alone after the consultation was done.

After finishing her ward rounds, the cameraman following her approached with a troubled look, "Dr. Yan, Professor Zheng is having some trouble, he may need your help."

When Yan Ling arrived at the room where Professor Zheng was, the atmosphere inside was extremely tense. Professor Zheng was being threatened by a man holding a dagger to his throat.

Although the man was clearly a patient, his bloodthirsty and cruel expression left no doubt that he would kill Professor Zheng as easily as crushing an ant if he dared to resist.

Upon seeing this, Yan Ling couldn’t help feeling her scalp tingle.

Her instincts were right. This man had a serious and dangerous background!

The security guards at the door wanted to rush in, but were afraid of provoking the robustly built patient and causing harm to Professor Zheng.

If they didn’t step up, they feared that the situation would get even worse if Yan Ling, a vulnerable woman, ended up in the hands of that man!

While Yan Ling was considering how to persuade the arrogant and unreasonable patient to put the dagger down.

The man seemed to sense her presence, narrowed his gray eyes and coldly ordered, "Come here."

Yan Ling knew, that command was directed at her.

Although she didn’t know why he’d called her, for the safety of Professor Zheng, she had to go to him.

Professor Zheng didn’t want Yan Ling to take any risks and shouted, "Don’t come over, he wouldn’t dare to harm me!"

No sooner had he said this than Professor Zheng felt a sharp pain in his throat, followed by the sensation of blood seeping out.

As a doctor, he was acutely aware that if the cut were any deeper, he would be in mortal danger!

The man sneered cruelly, his voice very cold, "If you don’t come over, you’ll have to clean up his corpse!"

Yan Ling hated people who threatened the lives of others for fun.

She rolled up her sleeves, revealing the bracelet on her wrist, placed her hands on her hips, narrowed her eyes, and said with equal coldness, "I can come over, but first, you have to let him go. Otherwise, it will be a life for a life!"
