Yan Ling wanted to contact the person in charge of receiving her at the Medical Research Institute, but for some unknown issue, possibly poor reception, her call went unanswered despite getting through.

The rain was getting heavier and the sky was gradually getting darker.

She was about to hail a cab when a pleasantly surprised voice came from not too far away.

"Sister-in-law?"

At the sound of the term "sister-in-law", Yan Ling instinctively looked up and was equally surprised when she saw the handsome, sunny face of Qi Yunyang.

What a coincidence!

She had just arrived at Kyoto Airport and had already bumped into Qi Yunjue’s younger brother.

"What are you doing here?"

Hence, he had to make it appear as if their meeting had been a coincidence.

"Oh... well, there was a last-minute snag at the office, so I had to postpone my immediate return," he said.

Wasn’t it said that Qi Yunyang was just a nominal figure in Qi Corporation?

How could he be busier than Qi Yunjue?

"Sister-in-law, did you rush to the Capital because you heard about Grandpa’s critical illness?" he asked, trying to change the topic.

As expected, Yan Ling stopped mulling over whether or not their meeting was a coincidence. She quickly explained, "No, I got a last-minute business trip notice. I’m here for work. Speaking of which, how is Elder Mr.Qi’s health? Is it serious?"

"No... it doesn’t appear to be good. The doctor said he’s been overthinking things and might need at least half a year to recuperate," Qi Yunyang responded.

His first instinct was to assure her that it wasn’t a big deal, but thinking of the purpose behind his grandfather’s fabrication of the illness, he quickly changed his stance.

Yan Ling, unaware of the true situation and with her instincts as a doctor, subconsciously asked, "What led Elder Mr.Qi to fall ill from overthinking?"

That question played right into Qi Yunyang’s hands.

With a sigh, he replied, "Ah, Grandpa’s greatest wish in life has been to see my elder brother get married and have a child! Although my elder brother does have a child and is married to you, he didn’t tell Grandpa about the marriage to avoid placing a psychological burden on you. Recently, when Grandpa met with his old comrades, and saw all their happy families and generations of descendants, he remained silent. But, he was very anxious about my elder brother’s marital future, and fell ill because of it."

Yan Ling was confused and furrowed her brows, "Why is Elder Mr. Qi only worried about Qi Yunjue? Aren’t you his grandchild too?"

Qi Yunjue, at least, had two children.

Qi Yunyang didn’t even have a serious girlfriend.

For Old Master Qi to be so concerned about Qi Yunjue’s marriage yet not to worry about Qi Yunyang’s felt nonsensical!
