Chapter 76: Chapter 76 Perfect Finale

A faint, transparent white light flickered.

Each card glowed with a transparent brilliance, and mirrors over two meters tall emerged from the cards one after another.

If Alka used his own Magic Power, creating so many mirrors on the spot would obviously not be enough.

But using the Spells already engraved on the cards made it much easier.

These mirrors rapidly combined and connected.

In just a moment, Nivek found himself in a Mirror Maze.

His own image was everywhere; Alka’s figure was everywhere.

For a moment, he couldn’t discern Alka’s actual location.

These mirrors even moved positions under Alka’s control.

The creation of each Spell Card demonstrated the creator’s level of control and understanding of the Spell.

Take, for example, the blue Screw Vortex Water Chain card. A top-notch creation, like one made by Jack, would have a gradient-colored back, looking very high-class.

Alka, however, could only produce a pure, watery-blue card back. His skill was lacking, and he wasn’t proficient in mastering the Spell.

This meant that even when he used the same card multiple times, its effect of binding the jester varied completely.

Of the three Spells he knew, he hadn’t mastered them for long. He was only familiar enough with the Screw Vortex Water Chain to make it into a Spell Card.

The other two, while usable, couldn’t be made into cards at all.

If used directly, the Magic Power required was unacceptable for Alka.

The Mirror Spell was different. Alka had learned it when he touched the Treasure, and his compatibility with it was perfect.

Therefore, Alka had devoted significant time and effort to it, and the Spell did not disappoint him.

Its mastery ascended at rocket speed.

Despite learning two Spells simultaneously, Alka could already perfectly inscribe the Mirror Spell onto a card.

He didn’t even need to spend much time or energy when inscribing the card.

This was the tremendous advantage of a self-comprehended Spell.

By this time, Nivek had torn off the Water Chain from his waist, completely regaining his freedom.

Looking at the surrounding Mirror Maze, it seemed as if Alka was right in front of him.

But he had some understanding of Magic, knowing this was an illusion. So, he could only spin around constantly, remaining alert to Alka’s attacks.

"With your proficiency in Magic, can you really see through it?"

Alka’s voice, processed in some unknown way, seemed to come from all directions.

The surrounding mirrors, angled cleverly, also reflected countless Alkas, all seemingly staring at Nivek and posing the question.

The jester’s eyes widened in anger. He snarled, "Just hide behind those mirrors! When I drag you out, I’ll make sure you don’t even have the strength to cry!"

The Alka reflected in the mirror shook his head helplessly, then suddenly raised his right hand, a metal card held between his fingers, and tossed it out right in front of Nivek.

The tightly connected mirrors all reflected the card’s trajectory.

Nivek swayed madly from side to side, trying to dodge.

WHOOSH.

He detected the metal card and quickly dodged to the side, successfully avoiding it.

However, though Alka seemed to have tossed only one, there were actually more.

Another metal card sliced into Nivek’s thigh.

"Damn it!" He angrily tore the card off. The bleeding wound began to slowly heal with the help of the crimson thorns.

Then he lunged forward, arms spread wide, flailing wildly.

CRASH! CRASH!

The sound of shattering mirrors echoed.

Everywhere, reflections showed Nivek smashing mirrors.

He decided to counter trickery with brute force.

If he could break the mirrors fast enough, Alka wouldn’t have time to restore them, and he could overcome his disadvantage.

Just then, another card flew over, slashing Nivek’s backside.

AAAAAH!

The highly insulting attack made Nivek’s rage completely overwhelm his thoughts.

He spun around and rushed towards the direction of the attack, only to find more mirrors.

"So much anger, yet no calm thought. No wonder you can only be a jester."

Just then, the shattered mirrors where he had just turned from had somehow already restored themselves.

Nivek, meanwhile, had begun to attack wildly.

A few more cards flew out, lodging themselves in his body.

At this point, he couldn’t even be bothered to remove the cards.

He let them obstruct his wounds’ healing, allowing the blood to flow freely.

This is troublesome. Alka watched Nivek’s exaggerated recovery speed, feeling a headache coming on.

Though Nivek was frenzied, his movements consistently kept his hands above his shoulders.

This allowed him to protect his head and heart at all times. Seemingly wild, his attacks still held a pattern and purpose.

He was well aware of his own advantages.

Alka needed an opportunity.

An Alka in one of the mirrors raised the Locking Device from his leg. The moment Nivek shattered that particular mirror, Alka suddenly aimed and fired at his head.

Nivek instantly tensed, raising a hand to shield his head. His wrist was smashed to pieces.

His left hand, the one protecting his head, was almost severed at the wrist, hanging on by only a few strips of skin and fascia.

The blood-red thorns on his hand pulsed wildly with scarlet light.

But the healing speed was painfully slow.

The Alka who had just appeared before Nivek quickly darted to the side, and then a dense array of mirrors appeared once more.

Nivek lost Alka’s position again.

Are severed limbs nearly impossible to heal? Seeing this, Alka gave a faint smile.

Another card appeared in his hand.

The back of this card was a gradient silver.

As Alka infused it with Magic Power, the edges of the card began to shimmer with silver light.

With a flick of Alka’s wrist, it shot out swiftly.

Seeing this, Nivek retreated frantically.

This was a card he hadn’t seen before; he didn’t know its function.

"This is the difference between a jester and a Magician," Alka’s voice drifted over.

The Silver Card pierced directly through mirror after mirror, slicing towards Nivek’s neck from diagonally behind him.

Everything in the card’s path was penetrated, its flight completely silent.

A silver gleam flashed.

Nivek froze on the spot.

He collapsed to his knees, his body slowly slumping to the ground.

His right hand, which had been protecting the back of his head, was severed cleanly at the forearm and fell to the ground with his body.

A round object, bathed in blood, rolled away.

His expression, aside from anger, held a trace of disbelief.

The severed surface was exceptionally smooth.

The Silver Card, after streaking in a straight line, embedded itself deep within the Treasure Vault’s wall.

The mirrors floating around began to shatter on their own, dissolving into motes of light that vanished into the air.

Alka’s figure was revealed. He still held the Locking Device, ready to fire at any moment.

However, the Silver Card’s power had exceeded his expectations; he had originally only intended to sever Nivek’s hands.

He holstered the Locking Device on his thigh.

Positioned diagonally behind the corpse, he gently gripped the brim of his hat and tipped it twice.

"A perfect curtain call."

Then, he put his hat away and immediately crouched down, continuing to fill his bag with the surrounding treasures.

Once done, he approached Nivek’s corpse and began to search it, wanting to see if there was anything of value on the body.
