Chapter 674: Chapter 675 The Real Heiress Does Not Return to Her Place 7_1

"Maybe when you go to a better place in the future, you won’t care about these high-rise buildings all around, and you’ll think that the companies inside are not that big of a deal."

Would she? Yang Xue really didn’t dare to think about it, "I hope so."

"You definitely will, you’re just too nervous right now. Relax, it’s just an ordinary exam."

Zhang Li knew that her words wouldn’t make Yang Xue relax at all, but she still had to say them.

"Being too nervous will only undermine your performance," Zhang Li sipped her tea, "Yang Xue, this is just our starting point. We will go to many better places in the future."

Gradually, Yang Xue also started to relax. Indeed, was being tense going to help with the upcoming exams? It would not help at all, so it was better not to be so tense.

The breeze blew, and Zhang Li felt her eyelids getting heavier. She covered her face with her hat, "I’m going to rest for a bit."

Yang Xue felt she still had a lot to say to Zhang Li, but to her surprise, Zhang Li had fallen asleep.

As the days leading up to the exams passed, Yang Xue hadn’t been sleeping well.

She would wake up easily, and even when she did sleep, the quality was poor, always dreaming.

She either dreamt about being in the exam hall, being chased by someone, or that the exams had ended, the results were out, and she hadn’t done well.

Each time she awoke, remembering her dreams, Yang Xue would feel utterly deflated.

Looking at Zhang Li, she truly envied her, eating well, resting well. She had not expected her to fall asleep so quickly.

With Zhang Li asleep, Yang Xue could only sit alone, watching the pond’s surface and occasionally listening to the conversations of the elderly nearby.

Time passed slowly, and Zhang Li felt her eyelids growing increasingly heavy as well. Soon enough, she, too, fell into a dream.

When she woke up again, she found the sun had set, and the once noisy and crowded space with elderly folks was quiet and empty.

"Awake?" Zhang Li felt movement beside her and turned to look.

Yang Xue hummed a response, "Yes, I’m awake. I was thinking I would just rest for a bit and hadn’t expected..."

"You had a good rest, didn’t you?" Zhang Li knew Yang Xue had been under a lot of pressure these days and hadn’t been able to rest properly.

"Yes, I actually didn’t dream at all today." Yang Xue was surprised; after all, this was just a recliner, and she had rested so well.

"Rest a bit more, and then we’ll go have a vegetarian meal," Zhang Li had prepared well for today.

"Have a vegetarian meal?" Yang Xue was surprised that there was even a vegetarian option available in the evening.

"Yes, there’s a master who makes delicious vegetarian meals, and it’s hard to get a reservation. I didn’t expect there to be open spots today of all days."

Zhang Li felt lucky to have secured a reservation.

"That sounds great." Although Yang Xue liked eating meat, she didn’t mind having a vegetarian meal now and then.

So, the two of them set out early in the morning, strolled in the park, and had a vegetarian meal. While everyone else was cramming for the last bit of time before their exams, Zhang Li and Yang Xue took the day to relax.

Actually, Father Yang and Mother Yang were not too pleased about her going out to relax. Could she not use this time to review her lessons at home?

But even with many thoughts, after seeing Yang Xue’s relaxed expression, they swallowed the words they had on the tip of their tongues.

They knew Yang Xue was under a lot of pressure. Father Yang shook his head at his wife, signaling not to rush her to study.

Mother Yang hummed, "Xiao Xue, have you eaten dinner?"

"Eat, we went for a vegetarian meal and then climbed the little hill nearby at night."

"Mom, I feel much better now."

"Xiao Li said that my foundation is quite good. As long as I don’t get too nervous during the college entrance exam, I’m sure to get a good score."

"Mom, I will definitely get into Harbor City University, I will definitely make you the envy of our relatives."

Yang Xue hugged her parents tightly, "Wait for my good news."

After saying that, she returned to her room to continue reading, while Zhang Li could rest upon getting home, but not her.

Their foundations were different; Zhang Li’s grades were there, and even if she didn’t study these few days, it wouldn’t affect her college entrance exam too much.

Once Zhang Li got home, she started packing her things, taking away what needed to be taken. Once the results were out and she received the admission notice from Harbor City University, she would promptly head to Harbor City.

She would need to rent a place and get used to the environment there. She could handle English conversation, but she couldn’t understand Cantonese.

After organizing her belongings, Zhang Li took a shower and then washed some fruit, read for a while, and prepared to rest.

These days, she didn’t plan to cram at the last minute. What she needed was to relax, and going out was out of the question. Right now, she needed to rest well and properly relax.

While many people were cramming and studying frantically, Zhang Li was very relaxed. Either practicing yoga or resting, occasionally she would watch people coming and going on the balcony.

Once she began her studies in Harbor City, she essentially wouldn’t consider coming back.

There was no one here that she would miss enough to return for; it would be better to stay in Harbor City and look for internships or work to earn money.

On the day of the college entrance exam, Zhang Li took a taxi directly to the test site. Though it cost more, it ensured that she would make it to the exam on time.

And so, the three days of the college entrance exam passed quickly. Even Zhang Li, who considered herself a veteran, felt dizzy leaving the exam room on the last day.

She briefly compared answers with classmates she was on good terms with, then met up with Yang Xue and they took a taxi home together.

Sitting in the taxi, Yang Xue was visibly excited, but she knew it wasn’t the right time to talk, so she held back.

After getting out of the taxi, and seeing no one around, Yang Xue said, "Xiao Li, you’re really amazing, you actually guessed the question types right."

If she didn’t know how strict the supervision of the college entrance exam papers was, she would really suspect Zhang Li had seen the exam paper; how else could she have guessed correctly.

"How could I have guessed it, I was just groping in the dark," Zhang Li would certainly not admit it.

"Look at how many questions I set for you, look at the types on the exam."

"I almost guessed all the question types."

"But since they were questions I’ve set before, you should have been able to do them, right?"

Zhang Li looked at Yang Xue. This girl had already admitted she had practiced this type of question and should know how to answer them.

"Of course, I know how to do them." Yang Xue remembered very clearly. After all, she had gotten that type of question wrong many times.

When Zhang Li explained the problem-solving thought process, Yang Xue felt she could even sense Zhang Li’s anger. If she said she still couldn’t do it, she knew that Zhang Li would definitely not let her off the hook.

"That’s good, let’s both strive to get good scores," Zhang Li said, looking at the dark circles under Yang Xue’s eyes.

"Go back and rest well. Don’t think too much, no matter how the exam went whether you performed exceptionally or just average, don’t overthink it."
