Chapter 442: Chapter 442 The Foolish Filial Man’s Wife 57_1
Liao Jiayu was doing her homework in the room, but she was also all ears to listen to any movements outside.
When she heard the sound of the car, she immediately ran out, "Mom."
"Have you eaten?" Zhao Wenjin asked with concern.
Liao Jiayu nodded her head, "I have."
"Grandma called and asked Dad to go over," Liao Jiayu whispered.
An unsurprising phone call, "It’s fine, you know that side values the grandson."
"Although he is locked up inside, there are still Liao Family members outside." He might not have the combative spirit of Zhang Zhaodi, but he was not the least bit inferior to Liao Bin.
"If I hadn’t gone to pick you up." Occasionally there were things Zhao Wenjin couldn’t help but leave for picking up Liao Jiayu.
"If your Dad goes to pick you up and the old lady comes out to make trouble, don’t feel embarrassed, just voice out the attempted kidnapping by Liao Bin."
The tactics Zhang Zhaodi could employ were only these, to directly tear off the facade.
"To speak it out loud, ’Wouldn’t that be airing our dirty laundry?’" Liao Jiayu said softly.
"There’s nothing shameful about it. Otherwise, you’ll just be a child who is unfilial and looks down on poor relatives because you have money."
"Do you prefer people to talk about you being unfilial, or for them to look at you with pity?" Zhao Wenjin continued with the choice, prompting Liao Jiayu to make a decision.
The choice was obviously an easy one, "I choose for people to pity me."
"That’s good then, the old lady can handle it."
"Also, in the future, unless your grandparents pass away, we shouldn’t show up at the Liao Family side."
They were all a group that would never recognize their mistakes, so it’s best to cut off contact completely.
"By the way, I still need to eat something, do you want something too?" Although Zhao Wenjin had eaten something before setting off, after going out and having an argument, she felt hungry again once she was back home, so they would go out to eat.
"Did you finish your homework?" She remembered the place where she had gone out to eat with her senior colleagues last time, the food was really good.
She had been wanting to take Liao Jiayu there to try it out, but because the place was a bit far, they had not made the trip yet.
Now that they had their own car, going out was really convenient.
Liao Jiayu nodded, "I finished my homework, I’m doing practice exercises."
There was a senior sister at a key school working as a teacher, and although she was an art teacher, it was still possible to obtain some practice test papers from her.
Liao Jiayu often asked her to help get some papers, and treated her to a meal afterward, and that was how their relationship warmed up.
Liao Jiayu’s schoolwork was good, and she was getting somewhat complacent, but after seeing the difficulty of the test papers she brought back, she became grounded again.
She had never imagined that the gap between her and the students from key schools could be so big; not to mention making it into the top one hundred, even the top two hundred seemed perilous.
Knowing the gap, Liao Jiayu was now working very diligently, aware that it should be possible for her to get into a key school, but getting into a good class would be much more difficult.
Sitting in the car, Liao Jiayu brought up something that she had been thinking about for a while, "Mom, I want to find a tutor, is that okay?"
Although she didn’t know how much money a tutor would cost the family, she was aware that it would be a substantial expense.
A tutor, eh? Zhao Wenjin knew that some people were already hiring tutors, though not many. She hadn’t brought it up because she was unaware if the young girl needed it.
Now that the girl had brought it up herself, of course, she would support it, "No problem."
"I’ll ask around to see if we can get a good teacher." Nowadays, many were going straight for university students.
It wasn’t that she thought university students weren’t good enough, but since they were paying, why not hire a professional?
Liao Jiayu’s classmate had hired a university student, and although she didn’t understand why Zhao Wenjin had hired a school teacher, she knew it was for her own good.
On their way to enjoy some delicacies by car, Zhao Wenjin thoroughly explained everything about the incident.
It wasn’t that she was worried about Liao Kai not telling the truth, but rather that she felt there were things he didn’t even know.
Liao Jiayu had only known that Liao Bin planned to kidnap her and then demand ransom from her family. But she had never imagined that the reality would be more horrific than her thoughts.
"He, he actually wanted to defile me?" Liao Jiayu knew Liao Bin was despicable, but she hadn’t expected someone could go so far.
Zhao Wenjin knew saying this would make it a bit hard for Liao Jiayu to accept, "He has completely ruined you."
"That’s why I never thought about forgiving him; such a person, his heart is utterly dark, with no so-called conscience or bottom line."
"To say nothing of his being of age, even if he weren’t, I wouldn’t let him off."
Liao Jiayu nodded continuously, "He can’t be let off."
When Liao Kai returned home, before he could say a word, Zhang Zhaodi threw a cup flying in his direction.
Liao Kai, not being foolish, dodged it and then blurted out, "Liao Bin planned to kidnap my daughter, and now you want to kill me."
Zhang Zhaodi intended to intimidate Liao Kai, but she hadn’t expected him to start off so aggressively.
It was the middle of summer, and everyone was cooling off in the yard. Seeing Liao Kai come over, they were quite surprised since Zhang Zhaodi and her husband were in good health, wondering why there needed to be such frequent visits.
Everybody knew something must have happened in the Liao Family, they just didn’t know what it was.
When they heard Liao Kai’s outburst, they all crowded around, eager to hear the details.
Zhang Zhaodi, seeing the people standing at the door, went pale, "No, that’s not true."
For her, of course, the immediate response was to deny the allegations. Liao Kai cut to the chase, "Not true, how can it be not true?"
"You even told me to sign the forgiveness papers. Your eldest grandson tried to kidnap my daughter; how could I agree to that?"
"He didn’t succeed this time. If we let it go just like that, Liao Bin will think my family is easy to talk to, and he will definitely try his hand again."
"No, it won’t happen, he definitely won’t," Zhang Zhaodi kept insisting, trying to assure that Liao Bin wouldn’t do such a thing again.
"Is your guarantee any good?"
"If your guarantee worked, how come Liao Bin is still a gangster? Didn’t you say you were going to discipline him strictly, not let him hang out with hoodlums?"
"Yet he’s still always with gangsters." Liao Kai simply didn’t believe Zhang Zhaodi’s guarantees.
"I’ve got only one daughter," Liao Kai shouted, "how could Liao Jun’s son try to kidnap my daughter. Xiao Jin, go and talk to Liao Jun about this."
"That just made him anxious, feeling that I didn’t give him face."
"I don’t know where he’s getting this sense of face from."
"Now he knows he has none. Why didn’t he properly educate his son from the start?"
"Now that trouble has arisen, he doesn’t think about proper education, but instead, he tries to cover things up in every possible way."
Liao Kai originally didn’t want to come over but knew that if he didn’t, the calls would never stop, and they would come looking for him at his office.
"Xiao Jin and I are of the same mind, whether he succeeded or not, he’s an adult and should learn his lesson."
"If we let him off lightly this time, once he’s out, he might continue scheming against my family, or perhaps he’ll realize that my family isn’t to be trifled with and won’t target us anymore."
"He might plot against the neighbors or our other relatives."
I know there might be someone jumping out to speak well of Liao Bin, and that’s fine; I don’t believe they wouldn’t be worried about Liao Bin turning on them.
