Chapter 154: Ch. 69 Part 2
Chapter 154: Ch. 69 Part 2
Looking below from the platform at the bowing sects leaders and big ancient families Yanzhi and Xiao Ling showed no expressions on their faces. They didn’t have these so called cultivators and martial artists in their eyes and they certainly didn’t need their apologies.
Yanzhi and Xiao Ling were actually baffled. They thought these people would actually avoid them and never come anywhere close to them, but yet these people did the opposite of what they had thought. Boldly coming to them with the excuse of apologizing when in their hearts they’re thinking about holding TianXin sect’s thigh and establishing relationships. As if Yanzhi and Xiao Ling would ever do such boring thing.
"Sit!" Yanzhi spoke, his words full of ordering and wasn’t polite at all. The arrogance he showed was unmatched even by the emperor of the dynasty.
The people who in the first place had hard time bowing their heads were displeased by his tone. But because they came with selfish thoughts they held back and continued to show the hypocritic smiles on their faces.
"Juniors thanks sect master Jun and grand elder Xiao."
They all said humbly as they rose from bowing and each took a sit. They were seated on the left side whiles the elders of TianXin sect at present were seated on the right side.
"What brings you here to our sect?" Xiao Ling asked getting straight to the point. He didn’t have it in him to accompany them for their acts.
"Juniors are here today in order to plead with sect master Jun and grand elder Xiao to forgive our reckless actions we took against Seniors."
One of the elderly amongst them cupped respectfully as he spoke politely.
Both Yanzhi and Xiao Ling didn’t speak after he finished saying that. They sat mute watching them with discerning eyes. Yanzhi stood up and went around the jade table and walked down the stairs of the platform. His steps elegant and his demeanor graceful, his ethereal beauty outshining the brightness of the sun and stars. When he reached the last stairs, instead of walking down on the floor he walked in the air. As he stook a step in the air there was a slight ripples in the air which was seen by all that were presented. They sensed the changes of air as Yanzhi began to release little of his radiant aura. They broke out in cold sweat and were dumbstruck.
"I...Immortal!" an elderly stated with affirmation as he came down on his knees and kowtowed surrending wholly. Those who realized also came down their knees and kowtowed surrending completely without him even suppressing them. The younger ones seeing how things were going followed the examples of the elders and also kowtowed.
"It is true that you have taken reckless actions against this Deity....hah! Insignificant you are yet you boldly chose to go against this Deity...."
As he spoke his words resonated in their souls. They stiffened at his words and were sweating profusely, they gulped nervously and none dared to even take a glance at him. His radiance dazzled them and they were engulfed by the little pressure excluding from him, it seemed one mistake and they would meet their ends with nothing left of them. They started to really regret their actions and really wanted to beat themselves. They blamed the demons for confusing them and letting them take bold steps of offending a cultivator who had reached the profound stage of immortality. Previously they came with the plan of apologizing because they didn’t want their sects to be destroyed like those big sects. But now they were really thankful that TianXin sect didn’t go after their sects, because although those sect masters were able to escape but now seeing the real power of TianXin sect master, those sects master who were able to escape now were sure to meet their ends sooner or later. How could their measly strength be compared to real strength? And since sect master Jun is an immortal cultivator, would that make the grand elder and elders of TianXin sect immortal cultivators? They shivered at such thoughts. How foolish they were to actually offend a sect full of immortal cultivators, they lamented.
"But this Deity has no desire to deal with you. There wouldn’t be any accomplishment in killing you. You’re not even worth the lives of flies in this Deity’s eyes." stepping down on the floor Yanzhi said nonchalantly.
Those who were deemed to be lower than flies started breathing in relief. They weren’t upset at all by such words. Infact they were even thankful and grateful to be considered lower than flies, at least they get to keep their lives. And even if there were some who were upset and felt offended, they had to show how grateful they are to be lower than flies in front of the immortal cultivator.
"Juniors thanks immortal sect master for overlooking our mistakes. Juniors promise to never repeat such a mistake again!" an elder said respectfully and the rest repeated his words.
"Hmp! You better remember your words. Because the next time such a thing happens, what will become of you will be really ugly!" Xiao Ling stepped down from the platform, walked to Yanzhi and said to them.
"Never again! Never again!" they solemnly swore.
"As for your gifts...take them back. This Deity lacks nothing and doesn’t need worldly things."
Yanzhi said with pure disgust, his eyes sweeping through the boxes of silvers, golds, silk and satin cloths, porcelains valued by mortals and lots of mortal’s valuable things.
The people who remained kneeling were ashamed thinking how could they present these insignificant things to an immortal cultivator. It was really shameful of them. But they were also unaware and ignorant of the fact that Yanzhi was an immortal cultivator.
"The Juniors are ignorant!" they admitted.
Yanzhi snorted lazily and didn’t want to bother with them again. He turned around and went back to his seat not paying attention to the people kneeling.
"Okay we’ve received your sincerity but we won’t keep the gifts. You take your gifts back. As long us you don’t stupidly bother us again we won’t mind you."
Xiao Ling took the task of sending them away. More like kicking them out. They got up and put away the returned gifts back into their storage bags and rings and thanked the couple. Just as they were going one of the elderly amongst them stopped and turned back.
"The junior will see to it that whatever was seen and heard here will not be disclosed to a third party!" he cupped respectfully and said.
Yanzhi sneered at his words. "What nonsense are you saying?" he asked in a cold tone. The elder was with doubts seeing the indifferent expression on his face.
"This Deity never once thought of hiding his identity. You’re just too weak to be able to see the real cultivation of this Deity, my radiance naturally can’t be sighted upon by you insignificant things!" his words poisonous and cold.
"Forgive the junior for his ignorance!" the elder apologized with an embarrassed face.
"Leave if you have nothing meaningful to say." Yanzhi didn’t hide the fact that he wanted to kick them out.
Seeing the elder running out faster than the rabbits they raised, Xiao Ling chuckled.
......
The news about TianXin sect being run by immortal cultivators didn’t take long to travel far. Since Yanzhi didn’t forbid them from speaking out, those who witnessed Yanzhi’s power boasted about it to their fellows gloating and talked about how they were able to witness the magnificent power and strength of a true immortal cultivator. Some even thought about comparing immortal Pei to Yanzhi but decided not. The aura released by Yanzhi which they felt, immortal Pei’s aura can not even amount to one-third of that aura.
The emperor who was getting better and better after taking the elixir almost had a heart attack after he heard of the news. He was really regretful of his past choices and blamed himself for his spontaneous actions. He regretted choosing to believe and bet his everything on immortal Pei. His thoughts about Yanzhi was complicated. If he had chosen to make friends with Yanzhi when he came to the capital to attend Jinhua’s and doctor Shi’s marriage, maybe he would be benefiting from that friendship, he thought. But at that time would he even have spared Yanzhi a look? Because Yanzhi didn’t show it on himself, his magnifying strength and knowledge. The emperor was in a complicated mood.
After thinking about it over and over and having a sleepless night he summoned for his younger brother King Pingxi urgently.
King Pingxi went to his throne room once arriving at the place. The emperor dismissed everyone except for his Queen and eunuch Lang who were his most trusted people now.
Seeing the arrival of King Pingxi the emperor showed a self-deprecating smile.
"....younger brother." he didn’t know how to face King Pingxi now that they were seeing each other for the first time after everything that happened.
"Emperor brother called for me?" King Pingxi didn’t want to waste time on pleasantries. He knew that no matter what the emperor would still show arrogance and wouldn’t be really thankful to him.
"You don’t need to address me in that way. Just call elder brother since that is what I am to you. This time elder brother was able to overcome his predicament thanks to younger brother and nephew. I am grateful to you." the emperor spoke in a tone that sounded like what King Pingxi did was natural what he should do.
King Pingxi sneered in heart but remained indifferent on the outside. "This time elder brother called me for what?" he asked straight forward. He tone and expression showing that he didn’t want to deal with the emperor at all. The emperor didn’t shy away.
"It’s about immortal Jun of TianXin sect whom nephew worships under. Why didn’t younger brother tell me about him being an immortal cultivator?" he asked with a tone of blame.
"Elder brother didn’t ask." King Pingxi said nonchalantly.
"Aiya~ elder brother was really wrong back then. I didn’t listen to younger brother’s words." he said in self blame. "In that case I want to trouble younger brother to try and arrange a meeting for me with immortal Jun." this time he spoke without arrogance.
King Pingxi was stunned for a while. To arrange a meeting with such a big person? King Pingxi didn’t have faith that he could do that but he didn’t bluntly reject the emperor. "I’ll see what I can do about that. But I’m not sure I can, so I won’t promise you." he stated frankly.
"That’s naturally. If you fail brother won’t blame you." the emperor said understandingly.
