On the third day of Xiao Ling’s and Yanzhi’s seclusion, people from various villagers around the mountain had gathered in ’Big Stone Village’, the village head’s of various villages around the other sides of the mountain came together to discuss with village head Lu regarding the events that had been taking place because of the sudden events that took place after the mountain was owned by an individual. The mountain had always being on it’s own and was never owned by any of the villages around it, so none of the villages had rights over it and now that it was naturally sold to an Individual by the yamen, naturally none of the villages had any say and any objections even if they were with dissatisfactions and envious knowing that the owner of the mountain was a person ftom ’Big Stone Village’

The news about the construction on the mountain had long being known and people from other villages had also participated in the construction. So all the villages around the mountain knew about the extravagant courtyard with many houses that could accommodate more than thousands of people, some people even dreamt about living there. Many were envious and were even looking forward to meeting the owners, but just when the owners who had long being away had return, bizarre phenomenas suddenly took place with fog engulfing the whole mountain making it unable for anyone to enter. Such bizarre phenomena was said to be a curse by the elders of the nearby surrounding villages, the mountain was deemed forbidden and inhabitable to the younger generations, but there were stubborn curious ones who still went into the mountain after all the warnings given, and those were the ones brought out by Baihu and Mei Lin with some with broken limbs and others with completely severed limbs, the wounds were severe but not life threatening.

This was what led to the gathering of the other villages in ’Big Stone Village’ intending to seek explanation from the owner of the mountain. Big stone village was full of people and some even from the county who heard of the situation came to join in on the fun. Looking at the bickering villagers and the village heads arguing with village head Lu, Lin and Feng who were instructed to deal with the these people coming to seek trouble with Yanzhi were in rage.

"Audacious of you to think, that you’re worthy to ask master of explanation." Lin sneered listening to the rumbling of an old village head.

"You-you-you, to think the youngsters now a days have no respect for their elders. Look at the children from our village brought down from your mountain by your people with their limbs broken and severed, isn’t right for you to give us explanation for this? Their lives are ruined now, how do you expect them to live now?" pointing at his nose whiles talking with spits flying out was the old village head, Lin pulled away in disgust.

"Herh, are you worthy to claim yourself out elder? And what explanation do you think we owe you? Going up the mountain when we naturally forbade anyone from going up without permission was of their own choice. We even went on our way to save them and brought them out, but here you are accusing us. Since long the mountain has always been a dangerous place that not many people dared venture, so are you saying that all lives lost and unfortunate events that took place on the mountain, we have to give explanation for that as well?"

Feng took over and with a cold murderous look, he questioned looking at the old man like an ant that could be squashed with a single thought.

"Little brother, that isn’t what we mean..."

"Then what do you mean?" Feng cut off another orderly man who wanted to speak for the other.

"Since before the construction started, a keep out sign had been placed at all path leading up the mountain, and now that our martial arts school has been established we clearly sent out words forbidden anyone from getting close to the mountain. The words we sent out clearly stated that a formation had been sent up, which is the fog you see now so only members of our martial arts school with tokens can freely go in and exit freely. But yet still they stubbornly ventured in on their own without seeking permission, what does the results of them sneaking in have to do with us?" Feng spat out angrily.

"Second junior brother don’t bother with them, they should be greateful that we haven’t gone to report them to the county government for the crime of trespassing!"

Lin added after him, hearing them talking about reporting, the villagers who came seeking for benefits in name of explanation for their severely wounded members started to break down in cold sweat. But even so they were unwilling to back down.

"This brother you should just go ahead and report them to the county government, tsk tsk tsk it’s obvious that they want to cheat you of money!" the voice of a young man sounded amongst the crowds.

"Y-you, what nonsense are you saying? Who wants to cheat here, isn’t it right that they compensate the family of the wounded!" an ordinary looking aunty from one of the villages at present refuted.

"Aiya~ This aunty isn’t what I said the truth?"

Everyone’s attention focused to were the voice came from, a young man around the ages of fifteen walked out from the crowds smacking a fan on his palm as he spoke. From his dressing one could tell at glance that he was from a wealthy family or a family of officials.

Pointing at the wounded people as if inspecting he proceeded on to say "just look at these wounds, it’s obvious that the wounds were caused by wild beasts on the mountain."

The wild beasts Baihu and Mei Lin: "..."

"Such blatant lies will not go unpunished when found out by the yamen, and once reported for trespassing on privately owned properties one will be punished either by being locked up in the yamen for a couple of months, or you’ll compensate the owners of about fifty taels of silvers!" the young man sated excitedly.

"Why do we have to compensate them when it is them who should compensate us?" the mother of one of the wounded asked, clearly showing dissatisfactions at the young man’s words.

"Just think of it this way, if it was the other way around when this brother..." referring to Lin, "was to go into your home without seeking permission from you, clearly you’ll call him a thief and accuse him of wanting to rob your home, so in that manner they are the thieves who trespass into others home to rob!" the young man answered in a carefree manner.

Some families in Big stone village who were with jealousy of Yanzhi and were adding fuel to the fire in the dark, pulled themselves away seeing where the matter was heading to. If truly the matter was to be reported to the government, surely they would also be affected. So before it gets to that extent they concealed they involvements in the matter, not that Lin and Feng were unaware of their involvement, they just didn’t care much about the matter in the first place. Because of village head Lu’s strict warnings to the villagers to stay as faraway as possible from the mountain, they were on the safe side and now seeing the wounded members of other villagers as result of going into the mountain regardless of it being forbidden, the villagers of Big stone village no longer had thoughts of ignoring the warnings sent to them and forceful going into the mountain regardless.

"Who are you, do you by any chance...work in the yamen?" a voice asked.

"Ah! I forgot to introduce myself, I am surnamed Luo, Luo Zhen from the county. And to answer your question, I have an uncle working in the yamen, so I know one or two things."

The young man cupped respectfully and said politely.

"Surnamed Luo? You mean one of the three biggest merchant family in the county? That Luo family?" one of the village heads asked shocked.

"Uncle is well informed, it’s that Luo, but I’m merely a concubine’s son" Luo Zhen said with a smile.

Even if it was a concubine’s son, the numerous of women and gers who will do just anything to marry the young man, even as concubines themselves were countless, it’s such a pity that the young man ignored their sudden advances and didn’t have eyes for them.

"Fellow village heads, since this matter has been cleared up let’s end things here, as to not involve the county government, it will not end well by then"

Village head Lu addressed seeing things settled down a lot, the other village heads not being able to seek benefits were unhappy, but as to not involve the county government because they will actually be the ones to compensate just as the young man said, clearly it was their people at fault in the first place for trespassing on a privately owned lands.

"How can you just end it like this, what would happen to my son now when he’s no longer able to support himself and the family, and what about the money for treatment?" one of the families of the wounded rushed out with tears in their eyes yelling like they’ve gone insane.

"Woman! that is no longer our problem. I will no longer involve myself in this, it was your son who regardless of the warnings still went into the mountain. With how severe his wounds are, you should best send him back home to rest for the wounds to heal fast lest he really looses his life!"

After saying that, the village head who spoke turned around and went on his way, the people from his village quickly followed carrying the two wounded people they brought. Seeing that other villages also started to disperse one after the other, it was in dismay that the various village heads left because they had lost face, giving birth to hatred in their hearts for Big stone village.
