Chapter 524: Chapter 524: Thrown Out (5)_1
Cai Wei felt that her current life of sleeping after eating and eating after sleeping every day, was somewhat of a pig’s life, except she was a pig fattening up for slaughter!
Luckily, the food she ate every day was still delicate and appetizing, and her companion, Du Meiren, was gentle and kind. Thus, she was willing to continue this pig-like life.
"Princess, the dinner is ready, please move to the Eastern Warm Pavilion for the meal,"
Anxiang said in a respectful tone.
Cai Wei got up, called Hong Rui over, asked her to help her put on her shoes.
Hong Rui bit her lip, walked up helplessly, and knelt down to put shoes on for Cai Wei.
Cai Wei coldly stared at her, watched her revealing resentment and unwillingness, truly felt sad for her.
if Hong Rui was not so high-spirited, she might be able to advise her and help her out of her current situation. Even though her future is uncertain, at least she could save her life.
Unfortunately, this Ms. Hong Rui seemed so confident about her future. Before she even met Saknu, she had started to show jealousy towards her. If she suggested them to leave now, not only would they not be grateful, but they would regard her as a jealous woman who couldn’t bear others.
It wasn’t worth doing things that were laborious and thankless!
After an afternoon of rest, Du Meiren no longer looked as pale as before. However, while having a meal, she still ate very little and only ate light dishes. Cai Wei tried to pick some meat dishes for her several times, but she declined. Besides her physical discomfort, she seemed troubled.
"Aunt, do you have troubles?" Cai Wei asked tentatively.
Upon hearing Cai Wei’s question, Du Meiren put down her chopsticks, looked at Cai Wei for a moment, and slowly said, "Wei’er, your aunt is just worried about you. The Prince Saknu you are going to marry seems to have a bad temper. Now he still finds you interesting and can accommodate some of your excessive actions. But what if one day he is no longer fascinated by you and you offend him in some way, you might die miserably."
Regarding aunt’s worry, Cai Wei couldn’t help but be amused. Of course, she wouldn’t really marry Saknu, she is just waiting for a suitable time to escape, and she has to make her escape as seamless as possible, so her relatives will not be implicated by it.
Cai Wei smiled and asked, "Aunt has been looking worried all day long. Is it just because of this?"
Du Meiren nodded, her expression dimmed, "Although you are my foster daughter in name, your aunt has always regarded you as her own daughter. You also know that the State Duke’s Mansion is a place with no human feelings, I’m already treated as a discard for them. So in this world, you are my only relative. Your aunt can’t bear to see you suffer in the future, so I can’t help but nag."
Hearing what her aunt said, Cai Wei felt somewhat guilty. Her aunt was abandoned by her clan, these years she had been alone in the palace, alone and helpless. She finally found spiritual comfort, considering her as her only relative, yet she had to deceive her.
The matter of her escape was significant, she did not want to and could not tell her. So in case things got exposed, she wouldn’t be implicated innocently.
"Aunt is overthinking, I will be fine, and I won’t worry you anymore," Cai Wei comforted her.
Upon hearing her assurance, Du Meiren nodded, but her expression remained troubled as if she didn’t believe what Cai Wei said.
At nighttime, Brother Parrot came back, brought a neatly folded letter, with a faint scent of Dragon Saliva perfume on it, that was his scent.
Cai Wei held the letter in her hand, and suddenly felt a girlish excitement. She sent Brother Parrot back to his space and told Hong Rui and Anxiang to serve outside. She remained in the room by herself, preparing to read the letter alone, quietly.
