Upon entering the grand door, the familiar scenery made Lady Du seem lost in thought.

From her memory, the Mansion of Duke An was divided into three sections: east, west and center. The buildings to the east housed Lady Du’s legitimate brothers and sisters. The west section was where illegitimate sons and daughters and concubines stayed. The mid-section was the Main Courtyard of the Duke’s Mansion, where the Old Duke and Lady Du used to live. However, now that both of them had passed away, it was occupied by her father, Du Ruohai, the current Duke, and her stepmother, Lady Wang.

Steward Cao guided Mu Zhongqing and Lady Du into the gate, and when they reached the screen wall, he smiled at them, "Please wait a moment here. I will go and announce your arrival.
