Chapter 303: Chapter 303 You Have No Choice (3)_1

The two knives clashed, sparks flying instantly. Ba Tulu’s curved knife got split right through the middle like a cucumber severed!

"Hoe!"

A collective gasp of shock rose from the crowd!

Without missing a beat, Cai Wei spun and raised her knife to attack again....

By now, the restaurant hall fell dead silent, only filled with the metallic clatter of weapons being split and the desperate roar of Ba Tulu, back against the wall. All the Liaodan people watched wide-eyed in shock as their kingdom’s finest Chief Guard was pressured into retreat by this petite girl of the Great Jin Nation. He was reduced to a desperate defense, unable to strike back!

"Wait!"

Ba Tulu roared, "Woman, you are using a precious blade. This isn’t fair!"

Cai Wei did not pause her assault, pressing on as she said coldly, "If you can’t afford to lose, then kneel and give my father three respectful bows. Maybe then, I will consider sparing you!"

Bowing and kowtowing was a great insult to the Liaodan people. Even when they came to visit the Emperor of the Great Jin Nation, they only performed a one-knee salute at most. They would never bow and kowtow like the Jin people.

Hearing the woman’s demand to show such deep respect to her father, Ba Tulu roared, "Woman, dream on!"

"Hehe, then prepare to face your demise! I hope you will still have such backbone then."

With a mocking smile, Cai Wei’s moves became sharper and more aggressive.

"Swoosh!"

A knife whipped towards Ba Tulu’s head. He narrowly dodged, as the blade sheared past his scalp, nearly cutting him. His braids scattered in the air.

Ba Tulu’s face turned white with fear. As he retreated, he pleaded for help with his eyes to his master.

But his master appeared to be enjoying Ba Tulu’s panicky performance, showing no intention to lend a hand. Left with no choice, Ba Tulu braced himself to counter Cai Wei’s attack.

"Pfff——"

Cai Wei’s precious blade pierced through Ba Tulu’s arm, spraying bright red blood and staining his clothes.

Seeing the blood, the courtesans screamed in fright.

The man on the stairs frowned. With a simple wave of his hand, a courtesan who had screamed the loudest suddenly fell to the ground convulsing, eventually foaming at the mouth and rolling her eyes back in her head.

"Ah——"

The remaining courtesans were about to scream when the man on the stairs cast them a frigid gaze, choking their cries back. Trembling in fear, they regretted their greed in taking this job.

After Cai Wei pierced Ba Tulu’s arm, his moves showed signs of weakening. After more exchanges, Cai Wei landed a fierce chop to his leg - the very leg that had kicked her father. It was cleanly severed.

"Ahh——"

Ba Tulu howled in agony as he held his remaining leg!

Cai Wei sheathed her blade and strode towards him. She pointed to the man on the ground, screaming in pain, and said coldly, "I’m giving you one last chance. Bow to my father and apologize!"

Ba Tulu, in unbearable pain, was now sweating profusely. Seeing the glint of the approaching blade, he quickly forgot about the Liaodan Kingdom’s honor. Dragging his maimed leg, he screamed, "I bow...I bow..."

But before he could complete his actions, a flash of cold light shot from the stairs, striking him in the back. His lips trembled as he fell to the floor...

Cai Wei turned to give the stairs a cold glance before she walked towards her parents.

Suddenly, noticing Wen’er and Cai Fei’s eyes widened in horror, she sensed a chilling presence sneaking up from behind before they had a chance to scream.

She swiftly spun around to find the man from the stairs seemingly appearing behind her out of nowhere.

Although Cai Wei was startled, she didn’t reveal her fear. She calmly asked, "Do you intend to break your promise?"

The man sneered and said, "I made no promise with you."

Cai Wei was stunned, realizing he had no intention of letting her go.

She was blinded by rage when she gambled with Ba Tulu earlier, due to her father’s injury. She had naively assumed that if she succeeded, she could kill Ba Tulu and leave. She forgot that Ba Tulu only agreed that she could take his life if she won, but he didn’t mention anything about her leaving.

So this man was exploiting this loophole in the bet, trying to go back on his word!

"What do you want?"

With gritted teeth, Cai Wei asked.

"I want to gamble with you!"

"How?"

"Your stakes remain unchanged. If I lose, I will let your family go!"

Cai Wei scoffed. "Is this the kind of man the Liaodan people are? Shamelessly using a battle of attrition against a woman, isn’t it unsportsmanlike to win this way even if you succeed?"

The man cracked a grin, laughing, "Woman, trying to provoke me is useless. We Liaodan people aren’t as foolish as you Jin people, giving up what we want for the sake of ’face’. For us Liaodan, as long as we achieve our goals, we do not care if folks call us shameless!"

Cai Wei retorted, "You admitted yourself that Liaodan people will stop at nothing to achieve their goals, why should I believe you won’t go back on your word if you lose?"

The man leaned in, his chilling voice responding, "Because you have no choice!"

Cai Wei’s heart skipped a beat. With the room full of the man’s men and unable to reveal her space ability, she must obey and gamble with him. Indeed, she was bereft of choice.

She gritted her teeth, looking back at her unconscious, pale-faced father, her tear-streaked helpless mother, and the distraught children. Resolving herself, she nodded, "Fine. I’ll gamble with you."
