Chapter 150: Chapter 150 Master Teacher’s Upgrade (2)_1

However, my daughter once mentioned that she took him as her master when she was young. After all these years, my daughter has grown up under his watch, and he certainly would not do anything inappropriate to her. Plus, my daughter’s martial arts skills are so advanced, indicating that this master has put a lot of thought and effort into her training. As a mother, all I can do is to feel grateful to him!

At this point, Cai Wei already knew who had kidnapped her and stripped her off, and she was both embarrassed and infuriated. Her ears were red with indignation, yet she couldn’t lose her temper in front of her parents. All she could do was to dart angry glances at him from the corners of her eyes as he casually carried on with his nonchalant demeanor.

Nangong Yi had noticed the girl’s frustration long ago. An amused smirk spread across his face. He carried on his casual conversation with Mu Zhongqing, yet the occasional movement of his sleeve revealed the blisteringly pink color hidden underneath!

Cai Wei didn’t even know how to describe her feelings anymore. She felt like someone had seized her weakness and was frivolously playing with it, especially when she saw the smirk of triumph on the devil’s face, and his semblance of courtesy toward her parents, she despised him so much. She could hardly bear to watch anymore!

"Dad, didn’t we say we are going to visit County Magistrate An? It’s almost noon now. If we are any later, we’ll run into their lunch time. Let’s go now!"

As soon as she opened her mouth, Mu Zhongqing felt extremely embarrassed. Wasn’t his daughter driving people away? How could you talk about leaving while guests were still around?

"Wei’er..."

Lady Du uttered a low voice with her eyes showing signs of reproach.

Cai Wei pretended not to see, she kept saying, "After lunch, people need to take a nap, and we don’t know when they can see us. It’s better to go sooner."

At this point, Mu Zhongqing couldn’t keep it together and reprimanded her in a low voice, "Wei’er, how could you be so rude to your master?"

Lady Du also apologetically addressed Nangong Yi, "Master Nangong mustn’t take offense. My daughter is always straight forward. She doesn’t mean to offend, please just bear with her."

To their surprise, Nangong Yi simply smiled and reacted nonchalantly, "Wei’er is straightforward and does not equivocate. If she says she has something important to do, then it must be so. You all go ahead. I shall visit you all later."

Having said that, he got up to take his leave. As he passed by Cai Wei, he paused and backfaced Lady Mu’s husband and wife, and simply smirked at Cai Wei, then went off his way...

As soon as Nangong Yi left, Mu Zhongqing could not help but berate Cai Wei, "Wei’er, your master’s contributions towards your upbringing are tremendous. Your martial arts skills wouldn’t have been so good without your master’s teachings. How could you treat him so rudely?"

Lady Du also chimed in, "This young master has been teaching you for so many years, and has put in so much effort. Treating him like this is not right."

As her parents accused her, Cai Wei felt like crying. She was so regretful that she wanted to bite off her own tongue. For the sake of a lie, she had to invent countless more lies to cover it up, and what’s even more terrible is that the shameless evildoer aggressively participated in her woven lies, leaving her no room to resist or refuse, feeling miserable.

Wen’er was dissatisfied because his elder sister failed to introduce him to the ’dependable outsider’, and saw that his sister was impolite to the ’outsider’, fearing that the ’outsider’ would be annoyed with his sister and refuse to accept him as a disciple. For the first time, he reproved his sister, "Elder sister, why did you treat Master like that? You shouldn’t have."

Cai Wei, wiping the sweat on her forehead, looked at her parents and replied, "Wen’er, as a young woman, I cannot act as freely with my master as I used to when I was a kid. Therefore, it’s better to create a distance to avoid any misunderstanding that would be hard to explain."

Cai Wei’s words were an explanation to her parents as to why she wanted to distance herself from her own master. It was also to make it clear to them that, one should not be too close with that person.

Mu Zhongqing and Lady Du understood their daughter’s concerns after hearing her explanation. Since they were in a rush to visit An Qiyun, they didn’t have time to talk more. They quickly packed up and, with Zhang Bo leading the way, proceeded to An Mansion.

On the way, Cai Wei purposely got off the carriage to buy some gifts. It was the festive period and moreover, since they were going to request for a favor from others, it wouldn’t be nice to go empty-handed.

Upon reaching An Mansion, they announced their names at the door, and very soon one of the boys led them to the backyard and into an extremely elegant room.

Unexpectedly, they ran into Huo Yuan and Cao Jin, as well as the Fourth Master of the An family there. The few men were gathered around a small red clay furnace, having a leisurely chat while savoring tea.

"We meet again, what a surprise!"

Huo Yuan’s unique clear and soothing voice rang out. Cai Wei looked up to see Huo Yuan looking at her with a smile. He was sitting cross-legged by the window on the east end to the low kang (traditional Chinese bed-stove) with The Fourth Master An Qilu sitting across from him, while Cao Jin was seated to his left, and Second Elder An Qiyun was seated across Cao Jin.

As they saw Cai Wei and her father, Huo Yuan and Cao Jin stood up. County Magistrate An also stood up, leaving only the Fourth Master An Qilu. Seeing everyone also rise to their feet, he had no choice but to do so, even though he couldn’t figure out what was so special about this father-daughter duo from the countryside, especially when even Young Master Huo was being so respectful toward them!

Mu Zhongqing felt a bit uneasy since everyone present had a much higher social status than him, and he was here to ask for a favor. Luckily, all of them were warm and polite, none of them acted pretentious. After a round of casual conversation, he began to ease up and was able to speak freely.

After Mu Zhongqing stated his purpose of visiting, An Qiyun immediately agreed to it and planned to ask County Magistrate Li about it on the following day.

Huo Yuan smiled and said, "Fortunately, we have nothing else to do right now. How about we go to the County Magistrate’s mansion to ask ourselves? It will also help us to judge the character of your County Magistrate."

Cao Jin said, "We’re always in this together. Since you’re going, I have no choice but to accompany you, even if it means risking my life!"

An Qiyun agreed and ordered the servants to prepare a carriage. The group didn’t even wait to finish their tea and left for Li Mansion in a grand manner.

Fourth Master An Qilu was sitting on the low kang, looking at the departing figure of Huo Yuan and muttered with a sigh, "It seems that the young man has really fallen for her, so much so that he’s forgotten to enjoy such fine tea and is hurry to help her. What a pity for my Snow-capped Jade."

Li Mansion was not far from An Mansion. Given everyone was travelling by carriage, it didn’t take long before they arrived.

Prior to their arrival, An Qiyun had sent a servant to inform County Magistrate Li of his imminent visit. Upon learning that An Qiyun, and even Huo Yuan, were coming to visit, the magistrate became exuberant, almost as if he had been injected with chicken blood. He sprinted all the way to his Concubine Bian and gave her some instructions.

Lady Bian exclaimed in surprise after hearing the news, "How is this acceptable? Jinzhi is a maiden after all. If she does something like this, will Young Master Huo still value her?"
