Gu Qingwan moved her attention from the morning paper, looked at them two, and responded, "Good morning, Tingyun and Guibao!"

"Tingyun, Dongfang Wawa, what would you like for breakfast this morning? Bread and milk, or Chinese buns and rice porridge?" William popped his head out of the kitchen, spatula in hand, and asked enthusiastically.

Because Gu Qingwan usually had a heavier workload and had to work overtime until late, most of the family-care responsibilities fell onto William.

Gu Qingwan and her oldest son preferred Chinese-flavored food, with a simple breakfast of rice porridge, soy milk, fried dough sticks, and buns set out before her.

On the other hand, he and his younger son preferred a simple and quick American-style breakfast: toasted bread along with a bit of condensed milk or jam, accompanied by a hot cup of milk.

Everyone could have their meal according to their preference.

Gu Qingwan finished her last sip of soy milk, and said, "Tingyun, Guibao, I have important work to do this morning and won’t be able to join you. Let Uncle accompany you two to the amusement park. Be careful and help Uncle keep an eye on your little brothers as the park will be crowded this weekend."

She would have loved to spend time with her nephew and Guibao, who rarely visited, but work awaited in her office that required her attention. She could only leave the children under William’s care.

Helian Qiao, after licking clean the milk around her mouth, replied very seriously, "Don’t worry Auntie, you go to work. I’ll take good care of the two little brothers."

Listening to Helian Qiao’s sweet, tender voice, Gu Qingwan couldn’t help but play along, "Then, Dongfang Wawa and Nannan are in your hands, Guibao!"

"Excellent, Dongfang Wawa!" praised William, giving her a thumbs up.
