Chapter 621: Chapter 621: No Beautiful Memories

"Yes, Guibao is the most impressive one."

After spending so much time together, young Master Gu compliments Guibao very naturally.

Master Gu watches the interaction between the two children and a warm smile unconsciously appears on his face.

Though he yearns for his grandson to accomplish great things, he doesn’t want his childhood and adolescence to be cold and devoid of precious memories.

Meeting a little girl like Guibao is a blessing for Tingyun.

Capital University and the library are both in the downtown area, only a few streets apart. After passing a few traffic lights, they arrive at the library. The driver parks the car at the roadside.

Helian Qiao opens the car door, swings herself out with a swift movement, and heads towards the library as soon as she gets out of the car. Gu Tingyun quickly grabs her, "Guibao, wait for your grandfather."

"Oh."

Guibao calms down and waits for Master Gu and the driver to get out of the car. Then she boldly and confidently takes the lead.

The expansive library sits behind a square and is deliberately designed to resemble an open book. Every few steps towards the front entrance of the library, there are educational slogans on the stone slabs.

"Books are the ladder to human progress!"

"In books, you can find beauty and wealth!"

"Read widely, wisely, and well!"

As you enter, you can see an elderly person with reading glasses sitting behind a desk, holding a book, deeply focused, with a sea of books behind him.

"Guibao, go ahead and find a book for yourself."

Gu Tingyun knows that Guibao is restless. He was worried that she might get lost outside, but now that they are in the library, he can let her go and explore.

"Okay."

Helian Qiao knows they have business to discuss, so she confidently turns and goes to find her book without any hesitation.

Gu Tingyun walks over to the elderly person wearing reading glasses and says politely, "Hello, I would like to buy a thousand extracurricular books."

The elderly man looks surprised and repeats, "A thousand?"

Seeing him nod, the elderly man quickly takes off his glasses, rises from his chair, "A thousand is a large number, please wait a moment while I inform the director."

With that, he leaves his desk and quickly walks upstairs.

Soon, a middle-aged man, filled with an scholarly aura, comes downstairs. He gently and politely says, "Hello, I am the director of the library. I heard that you want to buy a thousand extracurricular books. May I know more about this?"

When he says this, he subconsciously addresses Master Gu. After all, no matter how mature and precocious Gu Tingyun seemed, he was obviously still a child.

Moreover, the imposing and authoritative aura exuding from Master Gu, with his long-held high position, made it hard for anyone to ignore him.

"Tingyun, you should explain this to the director," Master Gu intentionally allows his grandson to handle the matter, standing by with his hands behind his back while Tingyun talks to the director.

Gu Tingyun nods and calmly says, "Hello, director. We want to buy a thousand extracurricular books to donate to Capital University. We hope that you can help us select them."

Upon hearing the books are for donation to Capital University, the director obligingly agrees: "No problem! What kind of books would you like to buy?"

Gu Tingyun answers steadily, "We would like a wide range of books, each being very specialized, with approximately five copies for each, adding up to two hundred types in total."

"Okay, I’ll prepare a list for you to review first."

Noteing Gu Tingyun’s composed demeanor, the director treats him with equal respect, not as a mere child.
