Chapter 506: Chapter 507: The Divorce Certificate is Ready

She clung tightly to her warm and soft son, and only then did she feel a little comfort in her heart. But she couldn’t fall asleep until dawn, laying wide awake.

She had barely dozed off when she heard her husband’s voice saying, "Wake up! Wake up!"

Li Chunhua sluggishly opened her eyes. Her eyes were swollen, probably from crying so much yesterday.

"Jianye, what’s going on?" she asked softly and cautiously, propping herself up on the bed.

Chen Jianye held two red booklets in his hand and gave one to her. He said, "This is the divorce paperwork. You take one, pack your things, and go home to your parents."

He got the divorce certificate first thing in the morning, driven there by his mother.

Zhao Mancao was also aware of the outrageous things Chunhua had done, so he readily stamped and approved the divorce without Chunhua present.

With this stamped divorce certificate, Chen Jianye and Li Chunhua were legally divorced.

Li Chunhua was stunned, looking at the word "divorce" on the red booklet, she immediately shouted, "No! I’m not going! I’m not divorcing! I don’t want a divorce!"

She was panicking, initially thinking that if she didn’t cooperate, they couldn’t get a divorce. The longer she procrastinated, the matter would eventually dissolve!

She never expected that they would have processed the divorce without her presence!

In her haste, she wanted to hold her son for comfort; she turned to look but found that her two children were gone. She exclaimed frantically, "Where are Xiaobao and Jinbao?!"

Where are her precious sons?!

"Mother took them for a few days," sighed Chen Jianye heavily.

His mother was determined to get them divorced this time!

Even taking the children away meant not giving Chunhua any more reasons to delay.

Li Chunhua was taken aback, then cried out in despair, "I’d rather die than leave!"

After shouting, she threw herself onto the bed, refusing to leave the house outright.

Chen Jianye couldn’t really kick her out, so he suggested, "Chunhua, why don’t you go live with your parents for now? After a while, when father and mother cool down, I’ll try to persuade them to let you come back."

At this critical moment, both his parents were furious. If he pleaded, he might get kicked out himself,

He’ll have to see what happens after a while.

Li Chunhua shook her head, fear written in her eyes. "Jianye! If my parents find out I’m divorced, they won’t let me in. If I leave here in this harsh winter, I’ll freeze or starve to death outside!"

If she died, there’d be no chance for him to plead.

After her dramatic explanation, Chen Jianye couldn’t possibly kick her out anymore.

He knew about her elder sister being frozen to death. In resignation, he threw the divorce certificate at her and fled the house.

Staring at the divorce certificate in her hand, Li Chunhua was overcome with grief. She couldn’t help but bury her face in the bed and cry.

Zhao Mei, hearing her hoarse sobs and knowing she hadn’t eaten for two meals, kindly brought her a bowl of porridge.

The door creaked open,

Zhao Mei came in gently saying, "Sister-in-law, stop crying! Crying will ruin your eyes and throat. You should eat something first."

She had just set the food on the table when Li Chunhua grabbed her hand, pleading, "Sister-in-law, please help me. I don’t want to divorce. Can you please intercede with mother for me?"

Zhao Mei could only look at her sympathetically and shake her head, "I can’t help you with this."
