Seeing how her sister was trying to protect her, Sanni felt warm and moved: "I’ll be back soon."

After finally exiting the village safely, with a lot of twists and turns, Li Chunhua was exhausted and her palms were sweaty from nerves.

Upon reaching the town, Old Lady Li told her,"Chunhua, you go with Sanni to buy New Year’s items first, I have something to do."

With that, she gave her a knowing look, signaling her intention to go and meet someone first.

Li Chunhua nodded without revealing any emotion, glanced at Sanni, and said, "Alright, let’s go in first."

After they both left, Old Lady Li instantly brimmed with joy. Rubbing her hands in excitement, she went to find her contact.

Before long, she came back looking upset. "You two. Follow me!"

Originally, she wanted to get the money first before bringing Sanni. That way, Li Chunhua wouldn’t know about the thirty bucks she planned to skimp.

But the man refused. He insisted on seeing Sanni and verifying her before he would pay. Without any choice, Old Lady Li decided that she’d have to get the money from Li Chunhua later on!

Li Chunhua trailed behind Old Lady Li with Sanni. They came to a secluded corner and saw a fairly ordinary-looking middle-aged couple from the countryside.

Sanni was carrying some items and followed oblivious, thinking they were relatives she didn’t recognize.
