He didn’t have the face to tell his mother-in-law what the "good deeds" he had done were.

Old Mrs. Li was even more shocked, "They even denied him food? Why?"

She couldn’t wrap her head around what terrible mistake he could have made that would make parents severely punish their son like this.

Although it was inevitable she’d find out, he’d appreciate it if they could save some of his face and not discuss it in front of him.

Li Chunhua nodded knowingly, and lowering her voice, said, "Mom, let’s go inside and talk."

She certainly didn’t want her mother-in-law to overhear.

Once they were inside, she spilled the whole story to her mother, complete with colorful exaggerations. Old Mrs. Li listened with disbelief, unable to wrap her head around the absurdity.

"Your mother-in-law must be senile! How could she treat her own sons so poorly for a freeloading, money-draining girl!"

She knew that Ma Xiulian blatantly favored the girl, but never thought it would be to this extreme!

After all, it’s their sons who will take care of them when they get old!

Hearing her mother’s loud voice, Li Chunhua quickly shushed her: "Mom, please lower your voice. My mother-in-law can’t stand hearing that girl being referred to as a money drain."

She had only known that the Chen Family was well off, but she had no idea that they were so wealthy that they could even buy things from the department store!
