Waking up early really isn’t my thing. Especially after playing games with Yuri for hours yesterday. It felt like the bed itself had turned into a black hole trying to suck me in.

Resisting that takes a lot of strength. Especially when I have to ride a crowded train, draining my energy without any refill.

I yawned.

"At least I have a day off tomorrow, and on Monday, Miss Mizu will be back..."

Because I remembered that Miss Mizu was a beautiful mature woman, I started to look forward to it a little. If I’m not wrong, didn’t she take care of me once before? Hopefully, she hasn’t changed too much in this world.

"Oi."

Suddenly, someone called out. I looked behind me, but no one was there.

Just my imagination?

I was about to keep walking when the voice called again.

"Up here."

Tilting my head, I finally saw the source of the voice. Sitting on top of a tall tree, her blonde hair stood out against the green leaves around her.

Even though it was still morning, her grey uniform looked a bit dirty. Maybe it got sap on it from the tree.

Alice grinned.

"Good morning, cutie. On your way to school? It’s still super early. How about we take a little walk first?"

"I prefer mature women, so I’ll pass."

Without hesitation, I turned away. Though, of course, she immediately called out to me again. This time, her voice sounded a bit panicked.

"W-Wait, I was just joking, okay? I actually need your help right now."

"Someone who needs help wouldn’t flirt with their potential rescuer. And how did you even end up like that?"

"You’re so cold, aren’t you? I just wanted to grab some mangoes here, but I didn’t think I’d climb too high."

Mangoes? It's not even the season yet.

Then, I heard a cat meowing from below. The furry creature brushed against my leg.

"..."

Fine. Dropping my bag, I opened both my arms wide.

"Come on, jump. I’ll catch you."

"Are you stupid or something?"

"Hah?"

Does she want help or not?

She rolled her eyes.

"Just go get me a ladder or something I can use to get down."

"You think I can’t handle it?"

"Of course not."

My physical strength had dropped drastically in this world, but that doesn’t mean I’m that weak, right? I mean, she’s still a girl. Her body is slender.

"I’ll be late if I waste too much time looking for a ladder."

"Your school must suck."

Yours is worse. What kind of crazy school still keeps two perverted delinquents like her and her sister?

"If you don’t want my help, then I’ll just leave now."

"... Don’t blame me if your bones break."

I braced myself as she began to let go of the tree. Since I had done a few physical exercises like push-ups before bed last night, I was confident I could catch her.

Then, Alice jumped, letting gravity pull her down. Everything happened so fast, but luckily I managed to grab her.

"Damn it!"

"See?"

I underestimated her. A few seconds after I caught her, my legs felt extremely heavy. Unable to hold it any longer, I was forced to kneel down onto the sidewalk.

I-It hurts.

Letting go of Alice, I fell backward. Looking at my knees that had hit the pavement, red liquid seeped through my pants.

"... Hold on a second, I’m gonna be a bit rough."

Alice reacted quickly. She rolled up my pants to check the wound, took the water bottle from my bag, and poured it over the area.

It looked clean, but she didn’t stop there. She pulled out a handkerchief and pressed it down until the bleeding stopped.

Then she tied it, way too tightly.

"S-Stop."

"Sorry."

Honestly, I didn’t need a cloth for such a small wound, but I’d rather avoid an unnecessary infection.

"Thanks..."

"Let’s just call it even."

The blonde girl exhaled. Her yellow eyes, probably lenses, looked into mine.

"I guess you really are just as dumb as Hina. Too bad you don’t have the muscles to match. You’re a guy after all."

"Shut up."

Don’t lump me in with your sister! My head is still filled with brains, thank you.

Alice chuckled as she patted down her skirt. Standing up, she offered me a hand.

"Can you walk?"

I took her hand. Standing up slowly, I nearly fell again before finally regaining my balance.

"... Still sore, but I can manage."

"Want me to walk you to school? I can carry you if you want."

"Let go of your other hand first. Where are you touching?"

Her left hand, clearly noticeable, had slid along my back and was going somewhere lower.

"Oops."

Using her shoulder as support, I let her help me sit. Carefully covering my leg again, I spoke to her.

"I’ll rest here for a bit. Just leave me alone."

"You think I’m some kind of devil?"

"Basically."

Alice sat down next to me after picking up my bag and placing it beside us.

I checked the time on my phone.

"... Looks like it’s too late now."

Yona should’ve already left by now. When I asked people from the Track Club, they said the tournament would be held at another school. On top of that, it was going to start before lunch, during class time.

Since I couldn’t watch her, I at least wanted to see her off or just catch a glimpse. But now even that’s no longer possible.

"Your school’s really that strict?"

Alice seemed to misunderstand. But I didn’t feel like correcting her. Besides, I was already late in other ways because of her.

So I nodded.

"The school gate should be closed by now. Anyone who’s late won’t be allowed in."

But Alice’s reaction caught me off guard. Her eyes widened and she scratched the back of her head, looking away.

"I didn't expect you wouldn't even be allowed in... Sorry for the trouble. I shouldn’t have called you earlier."

"Just kidding. Like I’d ever want to go to a school that strict. You called me dumb, but you’re no different."

"... Who’s the devil now?"

My bad. I guess I did go a little too far teasing her.

"So, why are you even here this early? Hard to believe a delinquent like you would be up this early unless it’s Sunday."

"Can I grope your butt again?"

"Please don’t."

Please do.

Alice checked the time on her own phone and closed it before answering.

"My dog is having a tournament today. I originally wanted to go with her, but I didn't expect her to wake up first. She's a bastard, it's amazing how she dared to leave me."

Alice clenched her fists in anger.

"What’s your dog’s name?"

"Hina."

Alright, I now officially crown you the worst sibling in the entire universe.

... But that means Hina really is going up against Yona huh? I regret not being able to watch that match. I was genuinely interested in seeing how Hina would lose. I mean, she’s strong, but there’s no way Yona would lose to her, right?

"That’s enough resting. I’m heading to school now."

"You sure?"

"Carry me, though."
