Transmigrated into a World of Reversed Roles -
Chap (18+)
I woke up.
But I already wanted to go back to sleep when memories of last night flooded my mind. What happened then was total chaos.
Even though Mrs. Yona didn’t say anything after seeing what I did with Yona, I was still overwhelmed with shame for getting caught.
“On top of that, I had to wait for the rain to stop before I could leave. Sitting on the couch with the two of them without saying a word—every second felt like hell…”
Was God testing my lust last night? And because I failed, I was punished? Now I’ve realized that God can be cruel too.
Since there was no point in torturing myself by thinking about it anymore, I decided to get up and start my day.
After breakfast and getting everything ready, I stepped outside. But instead of heading straight to school, I chose to wait for a bit in the front yard.
Apparently… the person I was waiting for had the same thought. Unlike usual, she wasn’t out for her morning jog. She came out of her house already dressed in her school uniform.
Noticing me here, she looked just as surprised.
“Morning… Ren.”
“Morning.”
After that, silence.
But the silence wasn’t because we had nothing to say. It was more the silence of hesitation, of not knowing how to say what we wanted to say.
Eventually, I braced myself.
“Sorry about last night.”
“Sorry I couldn’t control myself last night!”
We both spoke at the same time.
We looked at each other, then silence again.
I should’ve known we were going to say the same thing, especially since I saw she skipped her usual routine this morning.
But maybe this wasn’t a bad thing. Because now, we didn’t need to say anything more.
“Want to walk to school together?”
“… Sure.”
Walking the same road, I was still aware that this was a different world than the one I used to know.
My heart was still filled with doubts about her. But maybe it’s better not to think too much about it right now.
For now, let’s just take this journey slowly.
---
After arriving at school and taking my seat, Kaito, who sat next to me, suddenly showed me his phone screen.
“I got a girlfriend.”
“… Congrats?”
“Why do you sound like you don’t care!?”
Ah—this was the usual Kaito. Not gloomy and cynical like yesterday.
“So that’s why you were glued to your phone yesterday? You were flirting with a girl.”
“Don’t say it like I was the one who hit on her! She approached me first!”
“Who cares?”
“Heh, now I can flirt with my own girlfriend too. I can’t wait to finally meet her later~”
Is he actually jealous of me because he thinks I’m dating Yona? So he went out and got a girlfriend too?
“Wait, you started dating her even before meeting her?”
“Well, nothing wrong with that, right? We’ve video called, and she’s super pretty~”
Um, Kaito—you’re acting a little too flamboyant. It’s gross, please stop.
Since I don’t really care much about other people’s love lives, I just congratulated Kaito again. Then the bell rang, signaling the start of class.
Nothing particularly interesting happened after that. School went by smoothly. Except for being glared at by those two girls from yesterday when I tried to meet Yuri, I didn’t run into any other problems.
I also dropped by the nurse’s office to check if Ms. Mizu had returned to school, but there was no information. The only person there was a substitute teacher.
“Ms. Mizu, huh… Even though she just applied to work here, she already caused trouble by disappearing?”
Then again, I don’t even know how important her business is, so I probably have no right to badmouth her.
Still, I felt bad for the substitute teacher. I saw a student come in with an injury earlier, and the sub didn’t even know how to properly apply a bandage.
In the end, I had to help—even though I didn’t know the correct way either.
Today was a day off from my part-time job. Since I had time after school, I randomly decided to visit the track field.
There, I saw the Track Club in the middle of their activity. The members were racing around the field while a teacher acted as the referee.
I quickly spotted Yona. She was the fastest runner among her friends.
Unfortunately, she noticed me too and turned around. At first, she looked like she wanted to wave at me, but… she immediately tripped and fell.
“She’ll be fine, right? I feel like I’m just going to be a distraction if I stay here.”
I decided to head straight home.
There were a few places I considered visiting, but for some reason, I just wasn’t in the mood.
So I got on the train and went home. It wasn’t crowded in the evening, so I easily found a seat and relaxed.
I pulled out my phone, opened the MOBA game I played with Yuri last night, and passed the time with a few matches until the train reached my stop.
Walking leisurely, I passed the park where I had fought with Yona. It was in the morning right after I had arrived in this world.
Looking to the side of the park, I saw a court specifically for badminton. It reminded me that I used to play there a lot as a kid.
Then, I noticed someone was using the court now.
“Maybe watching for a bit won’t hurt.”
Since I was still some distance away from the court, I quickened my pace to get a clearer view of who was playing.
Though I instantly regretted getting closer. Because I recognized the faces of the players.
It was Hina—also apparently just back from school, wearing her uniform and holding a racket.
If it were just Hina, I wouldn’t have minded seeing her. I’d gotten somewhat used to her from our part-time job.
The problem was—she was with her older sister, Alice.
“I should leave before they notice me…”
“—Ah, Ren!”
Why do I keep getting involved with them? I can smell trouble from here.
I quickly turned my head—pretending not to recognize them and tried to walk away faster.
Unfortunately, that only seemed to provoke Hina.
“Why aren’t you looking this way!? Hey!”
With strength beyond reason, instead of using the gate, she straight-up climbed the wire fence and jumped over it.
“…Why are girls in this world so crazy and strong?”
Even the old me wouldn’t have had the guts to jump from a fence that high.
Since I knew running wouldn’t change anything—I just stood there and waited until she caught up to me.
“Come play badminton with us, Ren!”
“… Sure.”
Did I even have a choice?
From there, I saw Alice smiling at me. She waved her hand.
