Chapter 109: Chapter 71: Pinch_2

"Man Man, you’re quite good at horse riding," said someone, seemingly reassured. "It looked like you were just too nervous before. Later this afternoon, we’ll shoot it again."

"You are amazing, little ancestor!!" The manager stood by with a phone in hand, filming Lin Man riding, his face lit up with surprise, "I’ve already uploaded the video online. Now let’s see what those haters have to say. Our baby is just stunningly beautiful, right?!"

Hearing everyone’s praise, Lin Man couldn’t hide her happiness. She glanced around, eventually spotting a flash of red in the distance.

At that moment online, people were bashing Lin Man for her poor skills, but once the manager posted the video of Lin Man horse-riding, the public opinion shifted instantly.

[Oh my, an energetic beauty! She looks just like Xiao Yu from the novels. That video posted earlier was so unflattering, I nearly blacked out watching it.]

[Isn’t it obvious? Surely Shu Wan was behind the previous video. I’ve seen too many of these Second Female Leads trying to overshadow the First Ladies in the entertainment circle.]

[Tsk tsk, no matter how well Shu Wan rides or how pretty she is, what’s the use if her character is so poor? Which drama crew would dare hire her to act if she’s always trying to outshine the lead actress?]

The moment she dismounted, Lin Man took the phone from her manager and carefully read through the praises. But amid the compliments, there inevitably were comments attacking Shu Wan.

"See, I told you," the manager leaned in and whispered, "it was all Shu Wan—the scheming woman staging her own show just to push her promotional tactics."

Lin Man moved her lips, wanting to say something but ended up saying nothing.

She gripped her phone a little tighter. It wasn’t like she had asked Shu Wan to teach her; why should she care if Shu Wan got scolded?

By then, Shu Wan had already left Film and Television City and returned to her hotel.

Fu Yang, just like his unending joy in video games, sat in front of the computer, his usual moves, his usual posture, passionately tapping away at the keyboard.

Hearing footsteps, Fu Yang glanced at Shu Wan with a flicker of mockery in his eyes, "Why bother acting in these dramas? You get scolded every day. Are there ever days you aren’t criticized?"

"To make money," Shu Wan honestly replied. "As of now, being a star is the most lucrative, right?"

Shu Wan had understood that much like in past lifetimes, everything in modern society requires certification.

Want to start a business? You need various licenses and permits. Want to enter a high-paying company? You need a high educational qualification and extensive work experience.

Unfortunately, Shu Wan lacked all these.

Hence, the fastest way to make money she could think of was to act well.

"...Is my dad that stingy?" Fu Yang perplexed, "He doesn’t give you money to use?"

Shu Wan hadn’t told Fu Yang about her contractual marriage with Fu Siyu, and succinctly deflected, "I still need to earn my own money."

"You’re being ridiculous," Fu Yang muttered dismissively before starting another game. "What was that message you sent me this morning? I just woke up and haven’t checked it."

"There’s a problem I couldn’t solve."

The game had reached its loading screen, which typically took about two minutes. Fu Yang turned around, "What problem? Let me have a look."

Shu Wan pulled out a ream of test problems from her bag, "This one."

It was one of the last and most difficult problems on the physics paper.

Fu Yang glanced at it and scoffed, then gave Shu Wan a sideways look, "This is easy, and you can’t solve it?"

"Easy for you maybe. I find it quite hard," Shu Wan frowned slightly, "I don’t understand how this formula derives."

"Dumb," Fu Yang hummed lightly, taking a pen and paper from Shu Wan.

Almost thoughtlessly, he swiftly filled out an entire sheet.

As soon as he finished, the game started.

Fu Yang tossed the draft paper on the table, "Such simplicity yet you waste my time, take it and go."

With that, Fu Yang resumed his keyboard assault, engaging fiercely with the enemy.

Shu Wan took the draft paper and reviewed it for a while, a smile flickering in her eyes, "Your method is quite unique, simpler than the standard answer provided."

"Nonsense," Fu Yang snorted, "The person who set this problem must have the same IQ level as you."

Shu Wan didn’t respond, just smiled softly and shifted to an unrelated question, "How many points do you have now?"

"7652, why?" This score was the highest Fu Yang had ever achieved in his gaming history, so he spoke of it proudly.
