Chapter 129: Trying to Seduce Me?
Evelina entered the bathing chamber, stepping into warm bathwater. The large tub was filled almost to the top and surrounded by flickering candles, their gentle light illuminating the marble around them.
She let out a slow breath, her skin still tingling from the fire she had just started.
Damian’s face, she thought with a smirk, was absolutely priceless.
Relia cackled in her mind. "Oh, he’s fuming, Evie. His wolf is practically rabid."
"Good."
Evelina grabbed the straps of her dress and started to take it off, layer by layer. As the cool air touched her skin, she shivered slightly while the fabric fell to the ground around her feet.
She stepped out of it, completely naked, and ran a hand through her hair before sinking into the warm water.
Her muscles relaxed instantly, but her mind? Oh, her mind was still replaying every detail of what had just transpired.
The way Damian’s silver eyes had darkened when she touched him. The way his breathing had hitched when she pulled at his waistband. The way he had looked at her like he was barely restraining himself from devouring her whole.
And then—when she walked away.
Relia purred. "You’re playing a very dangerous game."
"And yet, he’s the one who always wins," Evelina thought smugly. "For once, let him chase me."
But the satisfaction was short-lived.
Because just as she closed her eyes, sinking deeper into the water—
The door opened.
A sharp intake of breath. A flicker of movement.
Evelina’s eyes snapped open.
Damian stood in the doorway.
And he was completely naked. Not just naked... but rock-hard naked.
Her breath caught in her throat.
She quickly turned away, pressing her back against the tub. "What... what are you doing, Damien?" she demanded, her voice slightly higher than usual.
Damian casually leaned against the doorframe, looking completely relaxed and unbothered. His fit body was softly lit by the dim candlelight, showcasing his strong muscles and calm strength.
The smirk he wore was infuriating.
"Having a bath," he said simply.
Evelina’s fingers tightened against the smooth edge of the tub as she kept her gaze firmly ahead, refusing to look at Damian.
"Well," she said, lifting her chin, "as you can see, bathroom occupied."
Damian, the insufferable man that he was, didn’t look fazed in the slightest. In fact, his smirk only deepened.
"From what I can see," he mused, tilting his head as he took slow steps forward, "there’s room for two.
Evelina’s fingers curled against the rim of the tub.
"So, how about I join you?"
Evelina huffed, still refusing to look at him. "Not going to happen."
Damian tsked under his breath, shaking his head as though he was really disappointed. "Oh, come on, Evelina, it’s not like we have anything to hide from each other. We’ve both seen each other naked before—even just last night."
Evelina’s face burned at the reminder.
"Do not think about last night. Do not think about last night." Evelina repeated in her head.
Relia, of course, was no help. "Oh, let’s definitely think about last night."
Damian chuckled, watching her squirm. "Besides, bathing together saves time. Efficient, really."
Evelina glared at the wall, refusing to let him get under her skin. "You’re impossible."
"And yet, here we are."
She clenched her jaw. "Now, go. Let me have my bath in peace."
For a second, she thought—hoped—he might actually listen.
But instead of leaving—
Damian did the exact opposite.
Instead of leaving, Damian took another step inside and shut the door behind him.
Evelina’s head snapped toward him, her heart stuttering and eyes wide.
"I didn’t agree to this."
Damian grinned, that damnable smirk deepening as he took another step forward.
"Too late, sweetheart," he murmured. "You started this."
Evelina gaped at him. "I—" She scowled. "I didn’t do anything."
Damian stepped forward, unfazed by her protest. "This is what you get for leaving me hanging."
Evelina scoffed. "And so what? What do you plan to do?"
She paused for a moment, her eyes subconsciously drifting down to his hardness but quickly looking away. "So you’re trying to seduce me?"
Damian smirked. "Is it working?"
Evelina turned away, rolling her eyes. "Most definitely not."
Damian chuckled.
Then, to her absolute horror, he stepped into the bath.
Water sloshed around them as he sank into the tub opposite her, his long legs brushing against hers under the water.
Evelina glared.
Damian stretched his arms out along the edge of the tub, his muscles shifting with the movement. He tilted his head slightly, watching her.
Evelina forced herself to ignore the way her pulse quickened.
She raised a brow. "Comfortable?"
"Very," he said smoothly.
Evelina huffed and turned away, focusing on the warm water instead.
Two could play this game.
She leaned back, stretching slightly so the water lapped higher against her collarbone, exposing just a little more of her skin to the flickering candlelight.
Then, slowly, she lifted one leg, running a hand along it in an innocent, completely non-seductive way.
Damian’s eyes darkened immediately.
She smirked.
"Oh? Something wrong, Your Highness?" she asked sweetly.
Damian’s fingers tapped against the marble edge of the tub.
Then—
He moved.
In one fluid motion, he pushed himself forward, the water shifting as he closed the space between them.
Before Evelina could react, his hands found her waist.
He pulled her toward him.
Evelina gasped, her hands instinctively pressing against his chest. "Damian—"
He leaned in, his lips grazing the shell of her ear.
"You started this," he murmured, his voice like liquid heat. "Let’s see if you can handle it."
Evelina’s breath hitched.
Relia screamed in her mind. "I’M GONNA DIE."
Oh, gods.
She was so in trouble.
Evelina’s breath caught as Damian’s lips brushed against her jaw, his grip on her waist firm but teasing.
Her pulse pounded as his fingers traced slow, deliberate circles against her bare skin.
Then—he stopped.
Just as she exhaled shakily, thinking she’d regained control—
Damian flipped them, pressing her against the cool marble.
"Your turn to squirm, sweetheart."
