Chapter 55: The final clash

There was a problem with the boss monster on the 1st floor.

-Oooooooooooooong!

-Swish!

"It’s getting faster! Why is it getting faster...?!" The party which was made up of some of the experienced individuals with great talent and skills was falling to the Boss monster.

"Captain Zyon! What should we do?!"

"Captain! Aghhhhh!"

Some of the party members were burning due to the flames that were now covering the entirety of the battle-floor.

They were fighting in a safe manner at the start, attacking the creature and returning in a quick manner.

The ranged attacks of the creature were powerful but not something they could not survive. With the help of some of the special officers with war training among them, they were able to survive the initial stage of the battle.

When the Goat started using a special skill of their kind and caught the party members off guard, they used a baiting tactic and confused the goat with their numeric advantage where some of them would barely get caught in the trap just to divert the goat’s attention.

When the goat was distracted, Zyon or the professor would launch their powerful attack along with the others and damage the creature.

Since their attacks were effective against the creature, the accumulated damage should have slowed the goat down.

It should have made it annoyed and in the process, the young Goat should have lost control over the flames and started getting affected by them as well.

Sadly, that is not happening right now.

"Miiiiiiiiiihyhyhyhyhyhyhy!

"Get out of the way everyone! Get as far away from here as possible!" Zyon ordered the party members and rescued one of the members who had fallen into the pit of flames.

The entire area around them was burning now.

The ground was on fire, the fire was on fire– it was strange to say, but it seemed like there were two layers of flames under them right now, one above the other.

"Professor, I’m going in. Please cover me."

"No! What does that-." Zyon did not wait for the professor’s words and activated his movement skill, his {Gale steps}.

A gust of wind appeared under his feet and became something like a tornado, increasing his movement speed.

The winds were just powerful enough to propel him though, not strong enough to affect the fire that was on the ground right now.

Since he was protecting his party members, the unique conditional skill {Chivalry} was activated as well.

-Swiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiish!

All the effects of his skills increased, and at the same time, he shared the effects of the buff with one of his party members– the professor.

The skill effect could be extended to many people, however, one was his limit right now, but even that much was enough.

"Professor! We will have to finish this!"

"Ugh! This boy...!"

The professor was annoyed right now but he could tell the buff was effective.

The opponent had most certainly been injured greatly in the past few hours.

It was growing strong as if going berserk, but the damage was undoubtedly there.

It was hurt, and Zyon knew that.

Zyon used his movement skill and started using his other special skill {Eyes of Ann} a skill that made it possible for one to see one’s hidden movements.

The professor continued his powerful attacks from the back, catching the Goat off guard.

The young goat had gone haywire after they messed with it for a little too long. All that constant harassment had made it the stark opposite of what it used to be when they weren’t here.

The goat was angry right now, there was nothing more than their complete destruction in its dangerous mind.

"Miiiiiii...!"

The way it was using its flames was different as well.

-Zaaaaaa...!

The white goat’s entire body was on fire right now– the white goat of heaven had turned into the flame-covered goat of hell.

The creature was also growing more powerful the more it used its flames carelessly.

It was burning away, and yet the creature did not stop.

"Captain, but–!."

"Just get away!"

A bomb of flames was shot at the party members, something that Ziggy could not ignore.

He moved first instead of scolding the ones who had still not left the premises.

-Swiiiiish!

With his movement skills, he moved and got right before the flame bomb.

-Oooooooooong!

Using his Aura-covered sword, he slashed at the fire, cutting the sun-like fireball in half, exhausting half of his energy.

"Haaa! Haaa! Get out of here! We will take care of it! This is an order!!!" Zyon did not want to scream at them since he knew their worries as well.

Losing their team leader in the very first battle would be the same as sacrificing a future hero of the normal people.

The association could not have that, but they did not have any choices here either.

"Tsk...!"

Under the orders of the higher-ups, they emptied the premises and went to a safe zone that they had secured before beginning the battle.

From there, the party watched as the two highest-ranked heroes faced the GOAT of hell.

Armed with a magical scripture, the professor used all his magical skills to create as useful and complex magic circles as possible to assist Zyon and damage the three-eyed goat further.

The circumstances had made the third eye of the goat less functioning, which meant they did not have to worry about the mental attacks anymore.

However, that was not enough...

To take down this creature, they needed a powerful attack.

A powerful attack strong enough to land the final strike which, under current circumstances, the rest of them could not perform.

Not even Ziggy was strong enough to land that final, necessary hit on his own... but, he had a way.

He had already figured out the creature wouldn’t burn away anytime soon. It may not have fire resistance but the creature was much crazier because it was not an adult.

He didn’t know their kind of trait, but he was too deep to back away at this point.

They could not escape from this flame-covered hell... their death, the demonic Goat was staring them in the eye, so, there was only one option left.

Only one option that will save the rest of his party members, even at the cost of a precious opportunity...

So he must do it.

He was the only one who could do it, so he must kill that goat with his own hands.
