Chapter 66: Ch 66: The Blade That Defied the Gods
The blade radiated divine energy, its very presence was enough to suffocate the mages and causing some to collapse.
The sword shimmered for a brief moment before it descended, aimed directly at Ye Tian.
Ye Zhao, standing guard, felt the surge of divine energy and immediately looked up.

The divine golden sword continued to descend, slicing cleanly through the castle as though the structure itself was made of paper.
It was a perfect, merciless cut.
The gods watching from their lofty perches smirked, their faces full of disdain as they observed the scene.
"How pitiful..." one of them mused.
"For someone like him to die under the might of our divine weapon... he should consider it an honor."
Another sneered.
"His struggle ends here. Let him die, humbled by the hands of the gods."
But as their words echoed, a strange tension filled the air.
The sword, now just an inch away from Ye Tian, suddenly stopped.
It didn’t slow. It didn’t falter.
It simply... stopped.
The gods’ smirks faded as they watched, their smugness giving way to confusion.
No matter how much divine energy they poured into the weapon, the sword vibrated but refused to budge further.
Even as it hung motionless in the air, Ye Tian didn’t flinch.
His eyes remained closed, his focus unwavering.
A faint smile crawled onto his lips as if he already knew the answer to the gods’ confusion.
He could feel it.
He could sense it.
The thing holding back the divine sword wasn’t some invisible force or a hidden spell.
It was another sword.
And that sword was being wielded by none other than the Sword Demon... Ye Zhao himself.
"Oi, fuckers."
Ye Zhao’s voice cut through the tense silence like a sharp blade cutting through flesh, cold and dripping with killing intent.
His emerald eyes glinted as he stood tall, his sword casually pointing toward the golden blade.
"How dare you try to disturb my junior?"
The sheer weight of his killing intent rippled through dimensions, reaching even the divine thrones of the gods.
The air around Ye Zhao seemed to distort as his presence intensified.
One of the gods gasped, clutching his chest.
"What... is this? This killing intent... it’s piercing through my very being!"
Another muttered, his voice trembling...
"It can’t be... That man... Is he truly mortal?"
With an effortless swing of his sword, Ye Zhao slashed through the divine weapon as if it were nothing more than ordinary paper.
The golden blade shattered, its fragments scattered into a thousand glowing pieces before vanishing into the ether.
Ye Zhao’s emerald eyes gleamed with a sharp, almost feral light.
A new aura radiated from him... one that was razor-sharp and laced with unmatchable killing intent.
Everyone who witnessed it, from the captured mortals in the castle to the gods observing from above, felt their hearts skip a beat.
Even Ye Tian, still deep in his ritual, couldn’t help but smile.
"As expected of my brother." he thought to himself.
Ye Tian didn’t need to look.
He already knew.
The one protecting him was not just anyone.
It was Ye Zhao... the man whose talent with the sword was so divine, so otherworldly, that even Ye Tian, in his prime as the Absolute Demon, could never match it.
There was a saying among cultivators, passed down through generations...
"If you see the Sword Demon wielding a blade, run. No matter your strength, no matter your realm, do not approach him."
This wasn’t mere hyperbole.
Ye Zhao’s ability with the sword was beyond comprehension.
He could cut down opponents several levels above him as though they were mere insects.
What made this possible wasn’t just years of training or experience.
It was the bloodline coursing through his veins... the blood of Yi Zhen, the first Sword God.
Yi Zhen, the unparalleled master of the blade, was revered as the progenitor of all sword cultivators.
His name alone struck fear into the hearts of those who opposed him.
But Ye Zhao wasn’t just a descendant of Yi Zhen.
He surpassed him.
His talent with the sword was so profound that even the gods themselves envied it.
Yet the gods, blinded by their arrogance, refused to accept the truth.
"How dare a mortal defy us?!" one of them roared.
Their pride wounded, they unleashed a second assault.
Three new weapons materialized in the sky...
a colossal spear glowing with divine energy, a shimmering sword that pulsed with power, and a massive meteor composed entirely of condensed mana.
The three weapons descended toward the castle with terrifying speed, each radiating enough energy to obliterate the entire island.
But Ye Zhao remained unshaken.
He smirked, his grip on his sword tightening ever so slightly.
"Amateurs." he muttered.
In one swift motion, he swung his blade.
The strike was so fast, so precise, that it seemed as though he hadn’t moved at all.
For a moment, nothing happened.
And then...
The spear, sword, and meteor shattered into countless pieces, their fragments were so small that they became invisible to the naked eye.
It wasn’t just the weapons that had been cut.
The very air around them had been sliced apart by the shockwave of Ye Zhao’s attack.
One of the gods screamed, clutching his face in horror.
"What... What is this power?!"
Another whispered, trembling...
"That wasn’t even a full-powered strike... He didn’t even use energy... It was just the wind generated by his swing!"
Ye Zhao chuckled, resting his sword on his shoulder as he casually stepped forward.
Through the shattered walls of the castle, he gazed up at the heavens, his emerald eyes glowing with amusement.
He raised his free hand, flipping the gods an unapologetic middle finger.
"Bring it on, fuckers." he growled, as a grin spread across his face.
"Let’s see how many of you I can kill before junior is done with his work."
The gods froze.
Their confidence had started to crumble away.
In that moment, it became clear...
Ye Zhao wasn’t just a threat.
He was a nightmare.
