Chapter 34: Ch 34: The Dance of Death
The orc warrior leaped toward Ye Tian with a thunderous roar, the sheer force of his movement cracking the ground beneath his massive feet.
His spiked iron ball, attached to a thick chain, swung with terrifying speed, aiming straight for Ye Tian’s head.
But Ye Tian stood still.
His faint smile betrayed all fear... Displaying a strange joy.
Why?
Because this moment, standing face-to-face with death, brought back memories of his old self.
The days when he laughed in the face of mortal danger, challenging it like an old friend.
"Feels like home to me..." he muttered, his voice barely audible over the rush of air stirred by the swinging weapon.
The iron ball came hurtling toward him, a blur of deadly metal.
Ye Tian’s eyes tracked its path, calculating its trajectory with precision.
At the very last moment, he shifted all his weight onto his right foot and leaned sharply to the left.
The ball whizzed past, so close it grazed his cheek.
A thin line of blood appeared, and a single droplet slid down his face.
"Close, but not close enough..." Ye Tian whispered.
The iron ball smashed into the ground with a deafening crash, shattering the tiled floor into fragments.
Dust filled the air, but Ye Tian’s focus remained unshaken.
The orc warrior was relentless.
With his weapon now embedded in the ground, the monster lunged forward, his free hand stretched out like a predator’s claw.
Ye Tian ducked just in time, the orc’s massive fist missing his head by inches.
"Too slow green ass..." Ye Tian said, his voice dripping with mockery.
Seizing the opportunity, Ye Tian grabbed the orc’s arm.
His grip was firm, unyielding.
Using the monster’s momentum against him, Ye Tian twisted his body, flipping himself onto the orc’s shoulder in one smooth motion.
The orc growled, confused by the sudden shift in weight.
Before the monster could react, Ye Tian leaped off its shoulder, flipping backward and landing gracefully a few feet away.
His eyes, sharp and calculating, locked onto the orc.
"Now, how should I kill you?"
The blood from the scratch on his cheek continued to drip, forming small crimson stains on the shattered tiles.
The orc, enraged by its failed attacks, roared furiously.
Swinging its weapon free from the ground, it charged at Ye Tian again, the spiked ball carving a destructive path through the air.
This time, the weapon didn’t just destroy the ground... it obliterated the surrounding walls, reducing the room to rubble.
One of the walls... the one connecting the battleground to the rest of the hospital... crumbled entirely, leaving nothing but debris in its wake.
Ye Tian reacted swiftly, gathering a tiny amount of qi in his legs.
Though his reserves were almost depleted, it was enough.
He propelled himself upward, leaping high into the air as the iron ball swung beneath him.
"Nice try, big guy..." he said mid-air.
As the spiked ball passed below him, Ye Tian landed on it, using it as a springboard to launch himself higher.
He flipped through the air, landing on the orc’s shoulder once more.
This time, he wrapped his hands around the monster’s thick neck.
The orc roared in frustration, thrashing violently to shake him off.
But Ye Tian had already made up his mind.
"Nine Heavens Devouring Technique..." he whispered.
Black energy began to seep from his hands, invading the orc’s body.
The dark aura spread rapidly through the monster’s veins, tearing apart its muscles and wreaking havoc on its internal structure.
The orc’s roar grew louder, more desperate, as the pain became unbearable.
The sheer intensity of the roar sent vibrations through the air, making Ye Tian’s ears bleed.
His vision blurred momentarily, and his head pounded as his consciousness threatened to slip away.
"Not yet..." he muttered, gritting his teeth against the pain.
The orc clutched its neck with its free hand, its movements erratic and uncontrolled.
Seizing the moment, Ye Tian leaped off the orc’s shoulder, landing near its weapon-wielding hand.
With a burst of adrenaline, he snatched the weapon from the monster’s grasp.
The orc, now unarmed and writhing in pain, was at Ye Tian’s mercy.
Wielding the spiked iron ball, Ye Tian wasted no time.
He swung the massive weapon with all his might, the spiked ball smashing into the orc’s gut.
The monster staggered backward, coughing violently as greenish-blue blood spewed from its mouth.
"Not so tough now, are you?" Ye Tian taunted, his voice steady despite his exhaustion.
But he didn’t stop there.
One attack after another, he relentlessly battered the orc, his movements swift and calculated.
The once-ferocious beast was now cornered, its massive back pressed against the remains of the room’s central wall.
Seeing his opponent cornered, Ye Tian gathered the last remnants of qi in his body.
He channeled the energy into his arms, his muscles surging with additional strength.
"Time to end this..." he said, his voice cold and determined.
With one final swing, he aimed the spiked ball directly at the orc’s head.
The impact was catastrophic.
The spiked ball connected with devastating force, obliterating the orc’s skull in an instant.
Bone fragments and blood sprayed in all directions, painting the rubble-strewn room in a gruesome tableau.
The monster’s lifeless body collapsed to the ground, a pool of greenish-blue blood spreading beneath it.
Ye Tian staggered backward, his legs finally giving out as he fell to the floor.
His chest heaved as he struggled to catch his breath, the weight of the battle finally catching up to him.
Blood dripped from his lips, his arms trembled from exhaustion, and his vision blurred.
Yet, despite it all, a smile spread across his face.
"Guess I won the dance competition..." he muttered, his voice weak but triumphant.
As the dust settled, the room was eerily silent.
The orc’s massive corpse lay sprawled on the ground, its greenish-blue blood pooling beneath it.
Ye Tian tilted his head back, closing his eyes for a moment of rest.
