Top Ranker's Second Chance: I Am the Lord of Passive Skills -
Chapter 15: Absolute Coordination
Chapter 15: Absolute Coordination
Ace stood still, blood from the enemy thugs dripping down his fists.
[You have obtained a new passive skill—Life Steal (I)]
[Life Steal (I): Siphon vitality from your foes, restoring 5% of the damage you deal as health.]
Ace had wanted this skill ever since he got his first flaw. It was usually tied to weapons, so he was surprised to learn it on Earth. With it, he could fight longer and keep his health up against many enemies.
I think there’s no cap on my passive skills. Life Steal usually comes from weapons or active skills. This first flaw is actually pretty fun.
If his passive skills were truly limitless, Ace’s path would differ drastically from his first life. Goosebumps ran down his spine at the thought of endless possibilities.
He scanned the second title he’d received. Its name and rank were even more surprising.
[You have received a new title—Don Capo (Common)]
[Don Capo: You claim this name, branding yourself as the Don Capo’s Gang leader. Anyone who trusts you wholeheartedly joins your gang and gains Absolute Coordination.]
[Absolute Coordination: All gang members know their assigned targets and whether to fight solo or in a group.]
That was broken, maybe even more broken than Life Steal. It fit a king class perfectly.
Titles were rarer than skills because of their influence. They could sway rankers, reshape the world, even bend the apocalypse itself.
Ace had no leader title in his first life because of his chosen path. Now he could level up faster and lead others at the same time. He could build a force to change this timeline however he wanted.
"Don Capo!" Alex and the others rushed out of the apartment block and surrounded Ace. Their eyes stayed on the beaten gang, frozen to the ground. Anyone who groaned loud enough got a heavy stomp on their broken face.
Ace looked at the man who’d tried ordering him. "Lots of people like him. Vandalism, right?"
"Yeah," Alex said.
He explained that gangs vandalized to make extra cash—sometimes more than the government allowance. Before Don Capo took them in, Alex’s crew couldn’t pull that off—they weren’t strong enough. Instead, they focused on deterring gangs like these from their territory.
Ace sneered, "Search ’em for cash."
From a safe spot behind the group, Mercer stood up straight and shouted, "Big bro! Is that okay?!"
Ace glanced over his shoulder. In the Gates, people plunder everything they can. I might as well teach them that law now.
He cleared his throat. "Assholes like these bothering us in our turf? We take their spoils. But if anyone steals from innocent, hard-working people, they go through me first. And that won’t end well."
"We get it, Don Capo!" Alex and the others chorused.
Mercer relaxed and walked over. Ace ruffled Mercer’s hair in the spot Chaewon usually claimed, the perfect move to ease the boy’s worries. Mercer had never had that care before, which meant a lot to him.
The Don Capo Gang rifled through every pocket and handed all the cash to their boss.
Ace kicked the enemy leader in the stomach. "Fuck off."
Don Capo’s in a shit mood. Only Chaewon sunbae-nim can calm him down, Alex thought, watching Ace count the money.
After the gang left, Ace split the cash. He took the biggest share—it was his job to earn it. He also needed money for rations and weapons before the first Gate.
"Let’s deal with other vandals," Ace said, teaching the gang the second rule of the Chessboard Apocalypse. "If there’s shit in your neighborhood, you wipe it out."
Ace planned to send his crew to clear out the vandals. He would force them to neutralize their targets instead of beating them senseless, testing their potential and teamwork in actual battles before the Chessboard Apocalypse.
This is gonna show me what they’re made of. I’ll hang back and pull the strings. If they still suck after all this training and my bonus, I’ll switch it up.
"We really gonna hit another gang?!" someone asked.
Ace sneered, "Kidnapped a kid, and he’s grinning. Tomorrow, we’ll clear out vandals and make more people happier. Cops and talks won’t cut it. We use these gangs to our advantage. Go home and get ready. Tomorrow, we raid."
