Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Little Wild Cat, Your Head
Aurelia couldn’t believe these words were coming out of Mason Nightshade’s mouth. Mason had never spoken words of affection before; to be precise, this man, cold as a rock, wouldn’t say anything to move a woman’s heart. When it came to killing, he was genuinely ruthless, not even blinking an eye. He could, with the calmness of clouds drifting by, destroy a family or collapse a company overnight with a mere flick of his fingers, ruining a person’s life.
What kind of look was that?
Mason Nightshade looked at the doubt in Aurelia’s almond-shaped eyes, her small mouth forming an O-shape, her lips crimson red, giving him a strong urge to kiss them and taste them. His throat moved as he averted his gaze, his breath close to her ear, he spoke in a deep, enticing voice, "Honey, don’t be moved. It’s what I should do."
The man’s ear was right in front of her. Hearing his infuriating words, Aurelia opened her mouth and bit his ear, her teeth sinking in hard.
Mason Nightshade let out a low hum, feeling the woman’s soft lips brush against his ear. The sound that came out carried a deeper tone and a low, pleased laugh, "Little wildcat."
Little wildcat your head!
Aurelia opened her mouth and bit again vigorously, drawing blood from Mason’s ear.
Mason didn’t move, letting Aurelia have her way with his ear, one hand holding her, the other supporting her back to prevent her from falling.
"Ahem!" A cough of embarrassment sounded, Balthazar Shaw’s old face flushed slightly. He awkwardly turned his gaze away and said in a deep voice, "Aurelia, stop fooling around! Help the lady down and let the son-in-law sit and rest."
Hearing this, the butler hurried over, reaching out, intending to help Aurelia down.
However, before he could touch Aurelia, a sharp gaze shot over coldly. Mason Nightshade was staring intently at him, and the butler’s hand froze, retreating immediately as he shivered with fear, his old face turning pale, heart pounding with fright.
He didn’t expect the son-in-law to be so possessive over the lady, not allowing even another man to touch her.
Mason bypassed the butler, holding Aurelia as he sat down at the dining table. Aurelia didn’t notice anything that had just happened, but Balthazar had witnessed Mason’s reaction. His eyes deepened as he glanced between them, suddenly smiling and walking over to sit down.
"Instruct the kitchen to serve food. Don’t just stand there; Aurelia is back, so quickly sit down for a meal." Balthazar instructed the kitchen and waved at Clara Philips and Jovana Shaw to come over and sit down.
Clara Philips smiled warmly, as if she hadn’t noticed how Balthazar had just ignored her and her daughter, gently scolding Aurelia, "You, child, even with your leg injured, why didn’t you call the family? Why should there be a rift with your father? Sigh, ever since you got married, you haven’t visited home, and the calls are infrequent. Both your father and I miss you dearly. If you don’t like Auntie, Auntie can move out."
As if she had brought up something sad, a trace of sadness appeared on Clara’s face, her eyes slightly moist and reddening.
"What are you saying!" Balthazar said in a deep voice, patting Clara’s back to console her.
Hearing Clara’s words, Balthazar actually felt a little uncomfortable inside.
Although Clara’s words seemed to show concern for Aurelia and thinking for her, if one carefully considered them, they were subtly sowing discord between Balthazar and Aurelia. It implied that after marrying off, Aurelia forgot about this family and still blamed Balthazar for past events, harboring resentment in her heart.
