Chapter 360 - 267 Slap Contest

Chapter 360: Chapter 267 Slap Contest

At the moment Minamoto Tamako answered "I refuse," the giant screen inside Seven Sins Temple announced the end of the bet—designer Yakou Shichi won the victory.

Moriyama Yasurou loudly argued, claiming that there was a premise to their bet: Minamoto Tamako’s choice would only be valid if she made it without interruption.

Yakou Shichi immediately retorted, stating that Minamoto Tamako was not subjected to what would conventionally be considered ’interference,’ meaning no one threatened her life safety or physically blocked her. The latest bet clearly mentioned that the decisive factor for winning was ’Minamoto Tamako’s autonomous choice.’

Moriyama Yasurou anticipated Yakou Shichi would play word games but didn’t expect him to take it to such an extent.

At the moment, she had no rebuttal, nor the ability to default, and could only concede.

After losing the bet, she was left behind, becoming an official participant with the number 4438. She needed to participate in trials, earn points, and exchange for tickets to leave.

Seeing this, everyone was increasingly cautious, not daring to sign up easily.

Moriyama Yasurou felt furious inside, knowing what a character Yakou Shichi was. Losing to this guy in a public setting was indeed embarrassing, especially with Yakou Shichi’s smug, superior-intelligence expression, making her fists itch, and wanting to punch him.

Either way, whether she sticks her neck out or pulls back, she’ll face the knife. Hesitating would simply miss the right opportunity, so she might as well be the first to take the risk.

As Moriyama Yasurou grabbed Yakou Shichi’s collar, before she could speak, two machine guns emerged from the corner of the wall and aimed at her head.

"Let’s go again!" she shouted: "Gamble again!"

Picking the soft spot among the weak, rather than participating in a game with unknown danger, she preferred to seriously compete with Yakou Shichi... She had already decided, whether it’s arm wrestling or slapping face, she’d justifyively beat him up.

Yakou Shichi signaled ’no worries’ and said, head held high after the machine guns withdrew: "Sure, but what do you have to bet with me?"

"With my life!"

Moriyama Yasurou patted her chest.

She had just seen clearly through the TV, the cruelty of the trials was no less than fighting for life, betting with life and participating in trials made little difference.

"Oh?" Yakou Shichi’s gaze swept up and down Moriyama Yasurou, speaking in what he thought was a cold but was heard as a cheeky tone by the latter: "What do you want to win?"

"Six tickets, which is 360 points," Moriyama Yasurou said in a flat tone.

"I don’t think your life is worth that price," Yakou Shichi said.

Moriyama Yasurou’s forehead sprouted blue veins, her fist clenched tighter, thinking she should have thrown more punches just now.

"However, since I’m in a good mood now and the others don’t dare to sign up, I might as well play with you for a while," Yakou Shichi posed in a ’great benevolence’ tone and asked: "How do you want to gamble?"

"You and I will slap each other’s faces, betting on who will be the first to give up," Moriyama Yasurou smirked as she rolled up her sleeves, transforming from a lady to a combat mode, "I bet you will concede."

Yakou Shichi spread his hands, shook his head, and using a ’are you an idiot?’ tone said: "How could I agree to such a bet? It’s totally unfair! You are the challenger, the rules should be set by me, right."

Moriyama Yasurou tutted: "How do you want to bet?"

Yakou Shichi glanced at her forearm, slightly retracted his smile and said: "How about this, you and I will each designate a ’contestant’ to fight on our behalf, let them slap each other’s cheeks. If the designated contestant loses consciousness or voluntarily concedes, it is considered the designator loses the bet, how about it?"

He paused, explaining: "It’s much like horse racing or cockfighting, putting your nurtured treasures or roosters into battle, the winner can naturally gain rich rewards, risking bankruptcy or even loss of life is also common."

Moriyama Yasurou could hear that this guy was setting a trap for her: "Then who can I designate? What if the designated contestant rebels and concedes?"

"That’s your problem. If you are not assured, you can fight yourself. I don’t mind watching you being beaten into a pig’s head," Yakou Shichi said.

Moriyama Yasurou frowned and pressed further: "Can I designate anyone?"

"Of course, as long as the person agrees to fight on your behalf," Yakou Shichi nodded.

Moriyama Yasurou pondered for a moment and actually agreed. The other participants discussed fervently, thinking she was so feverish in gambling that she would do such a thing.

Moriyama Yasurou ignored the criticisms from others, she carefully confirmed the rules of the slapping contest with Yakou Shichi to avoid the latter playing word games and cheating again.

After both parties discussed in detail, the screen’s Lucky Cat confirmed the rules once more:

1. Decide the order of strikes: the two contestants decide who strikes first through a coin toss.

2. Determine the number of rounds: each contest can have at most three rounds or five rounds.

3. Regulate strike actions: only open palms can be used to slap the opponent’s face; any action involving palm base strikes, hitting the opponent’s eyes, behind ears, temples, etc., is considered a foul resulting in a penalty loss.

4. Limit strike time: each contestant has 30 seconds to strike, followed by 30 seconds to get up and return to the competition position after being slapped down, with 10 seconds to get up after falling.

5. Specify receiving posture: when accepting slaps, contestants must keep their bodies upright, chin up, hands behind their back.

6. Prohibit evasive blocking: moving the head, retracting the neck, or other means of dodging/blocking are not allowed.

7. Inform of referee information: before striking, contestants must inform the referee which hand to use and the number of warm-ups.

8. Win conditions: if one contestant becomes unconscious, dies, or voluntarily concedes, the other contestant wins.
