Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Mr. Rong, I’m Only Asking Out of Curiosity (1)
"Wait for me a moment." Rong Mochen ruffled Jin Jumo’s hair.
Jin Jumo nodded.
Rong Mochen walked into the private room and came out with a black overcoat in his hand.
"What do you want to eat?"
As he came over, his long arm naturally draped over Jin Jumo’s shoulder, his deep, steady voice seemed to echo right by her ear.
Jin Jumo felt a slight tingling in her ear, her head tilted slightly to one side, "I’m good with anything, Mr. Rong, you decide."
Rong Mochen didn’t say anything.
Jin Jumo was thinking about the sudden ten million transfer, her face showing all sorts of conflict.
She lifted her eyelids and glanced at him, then finally summoned the courage to ask softly, "Mr. Rong."
"Hmm?" Rong Mochen looked down at her, his dark eyes as gentle as a breeze gliding over a calm lake.
Jin Jumo’s heart skipped a beat, slightly lowering her gaze, "I received a ten million transfer today, was it from Mr. Rong?"
"No." Rong Mochen said.
No?
Jin Jumo was truly surprised, staring at him in disbelief, "It wasn’t transferred by Mr. Rong?"
But the account that sent it was clearly the one that transfers money to her every month!
Rong Mochen, with one hand, opened the elevator, holding Jin Jumo as they walked in, then said lightly, "I had the finance department transfer it."
"..." You could imagine Jin Jumo’s expression now!
What difference does it make whether he transferred it himself or had someone in finance do it?
Jin Jumo furrowed her brow, cautiously eyeing Rong Mochen with her glistening eyes, "Mr. Rong, could the finance department have misheard you, maybe you actually intended to transfer one million, but they accidentally transferred ten million?"
Thinking it over, Jin Jumo felt that was the only plausible explanation!
"Do you think the Rong Family would hire someone who mishears their superior’s instructions?" Rong Mochen glanced at Jin Jumo sideways, saying.
So, he really had the finance department transfer ten million to her!
But... why?
Jin Jumo’s brows tightened, biting her lower lip, looking at Rong Mochen full of questions.
Yet Rong Mochen seemed not to notice her puzzled gaze, his dark eyes staring straight ahead, expression indifferent.
Ding...
The elevator arrived at the underground parking lot of the club.
Rong Mochen held Jin Jumo as they walked out.
Seeing him like this, Jin Jumo felt a gnawing unease in her heart.
Sitting in the Spyker car, Jin Jumo occasionally peeked at Rong Mochen from the corner of her eye.
Rong Mochen appeared unaware, fully focused on driving.
His hands, gracefully elegant, rested calmly on the steering wheel.
Jin Jumo restrained herself for a few minutes, then suddenly took a deep breath.
No more.
If she kept holding it in, she would hurt herself internally.
Turning to the side, Jin Jumo looked at Rong Mochen’s flawlessly defined profile, seriously, "Mr. Rong, I’m asking out of curiosity."
"What?" Rong Mochen turned his head slightly to glance at Jin Jumo.
Jin Jumo opened her mouth, "Why?"
"Hmm?" Rong Mochen frowned, perhaps genuinely not knowing what Jin Jumo was referring to, or pretending not to.
"I mean, the ten million." Jin Jumo closed her eyes, then reopened them, her Taohua eyes shining, "Mr. Rong, to be honest, I’m quite anxious about you suddenly transferring so much money to me."
Jin Jumo almost said, "Did you ask if I agreed to receive such a large sum?"
But those words, which seemed ungrateful, she only dared to say in her heart.
Rong Mochen looked at Jin Jumo’s conflicted and uneasy little face, a hint of softness passing through his dark eyes, his thin lips curling slightly, "What are you anxious about?"
Anxious about what?
He actually asked her what she was anxious about?
Jin Jumo’s cheeks twitched, taking a breath, "Mr. Rong, one shouldn’t receive benefits for nothing. With you suddenly transferring so much money, I’ll start overthinking."
"So what did you think about?" Rong Mochen posed the question casually, as if engaging in small talk, not taking it seriously at all.
Feeling somewhat unsatisfied but not daring to show it, Jin Jumo bit her lip, "I might wonder if I did something wrong, so Mr. Rong is deliberately scaring me with money!"
But Rong Mochen found Jin Jumo’s statement amusing, a few sexy lines appeared at the corners of his eyes as he smiled, his dark eyes glanced at Jin Jumo, the look deep and mysterious, "Have you done anything wrong recently?"
Jin Jumo’s throat tightened suddenly, she quickly averted her gaze, her guilty heart pounding, "I, I can’t think of anything."
Rong Mochen’s eyes deepened slightly, he turned to look ahead, his voice distant, "Don’t overthink it. Maybe, I just wanted to give it to you."
Upon hearing Rong Mochen’s words.
Jin Jumo’s brow furrowed even tighter.
Rong Mochen was a businessman, benefits were undoubtedly the first consideration in anything he did.
Why would he engage in a transaction without any benefits?
With the relationship between them nearing its end, she couldn’t fathom why he would give her so much money at this time.
Could it really be just because he was so wealthy?
Jin Jumo didn’t expect that just because she said she would eat whatever he decided, he brought her to a Japanese restaurant.
Eating Japanese cuisine inevitably involved seasonal fish, crab, and shrimp, and even more unbearable to Jin Jumo was the raw fish.
Japanese cuisine emphasizes freshness and lightness, so the dishes are prepared only after ordering.
Jin Jumo’s facial expression seemed out of her control, something in her throat kept rising up.
Although the dishes on the table were exquisitely and meticulously presented, indeed appealing to the appetite, Jin Jumo was truly fed up and didn’t dare to eat.
During the meal, Jin Jumo avoided fish, shrimp, and crab, only eating the side dishes.
A slice of raw fish dipped in sauce was placed on Jin Jumo’s plate.
Jin Jumo’s throat bobbed as she looked up at Rong Mochen across from her.
"You like fish, eat more." Rong Mochen said.
Jin Jumo tightened her grip on her chopsticks, "I don’t like raw food."
"Really?" Rong Mochen was slightly stunned, then picked up the communal chopsticks to give Jin Jumo a piece of grilled fish.
"..." Jin Jumo’s expression began to stiffen.
"Eat." Rong Mochen looked at Jin Jumo with "caring" dark eyes.
But now Jin Jumo just wanted to disappear.
Reluctant to face the fish on her plate, Jin Jumo lowered her gaze slowly, encouraging herself mentally throughout, closing her eyes and gritting her teeth, just swallow it down, you can do it, Jin Jumo.
Just as her chopsticks touched the piece of fish, Jin Jumo abruptly set them down, ducking her head, both hands busy in her bag, "I think I heard my phone ringing."
Rong Mochen slightly narrowed his eyes, watching Jin Jumo in silence.
Jin Jumo, feeling pressured, dug out her phone and glanced at it, sneaking a look at Rong Mochen with her peripheral vision, noticing him staring intently at her, she quickly averted her gaze, muttering, "... strange, I was sure I heard it ringing."
Rong Mochen sipped the sake in front of him without a word.
Jin Jumo licked her lips, touched her neck, and put her phone back.
She naturally ignored the fish on her plate, picking up her chopsticks to take a piece of sushi, ready to lift it to her mouth.
"Little Mo." Rong Mochen suddenly spoke.
Jin Jumo paused, putting down the sushi about to enter her mouth and looked at Rong Mochen.
Rong Mochen slightly lowered his chin, his voice cool, unhurried, "I’m flying to France tonight, I should be back in about a week."
A week...
Jin Jumo’s eyes suddenly brightened, fearing he might notice, she quickly lowered her eyelashes, "Why are you flying out tonight? Is it something urgent?"
Rong Mochen said nothing.
But surely it must be urgent, otherwise, why the rush to go overnight?
"Is there anything you want to say to me?" After a moment of silence, Rong Mochen looked up, his dark eyes looking deeply at Jin Jumo.
Unfortunately, Jin Jumo was immersed in the good news of someone going to France for a week, not noticing.
Upon hearing, Jin Jumo curved her eyes in a smile, replying swiftly, "Bon voyage, Mr. Rong."
Rong Mochen’s expression remained unchanged, but his deep, dark eyes staring at Jin Jumo suddenly grew colder.
